Chapter 11
Chapter 11
"After I gave birth to my baby Magnus, I'd take you to the Philippines, Gab!" a smile left my lips when G blurted that out excitedly.
I nodded, "is there a lot of beautiful places there, G?"
"Yeah, you bet!" she giggled, "there are a lot of beaches, not just that! I also have a favorite place in there, one of my favorites. It's called the Lost Island!"
"Oh..." I nodded, "is that where you got married, right? The island with a shipwreck and cliff?"
"Yep," she nodded, "I swear, Gab. You'll like it more if you explore it! There are a lot of magical things to see, there is a tale pa na you'd like to hear and it's crazy and weird to say but Luci and I think the tale's our story."
"Tale?" I tilted my head to see her, "can I know what is it, G? You know naman na I attended your wedding but I was in full security and was there briefly lang kasi there are threats, rights? I'm so lungkot too because I haven't even eaten a food or two from your reception. I only waited for I do and they made me go na." I mumbled sadly.
"Yeah," G sighed sadly, too. "They're super OA, right? You're safe naman, eh, but I understand din because you know what happened to me. They're just making sure our Queen won't get hurt too." She brushed my hair gently.
"So, tell me, G." My eyes brightened. "About the tale you're saying, I haven't heard it but I know you once mentioned about it. The pirate and the princess. It's interesting!"
G's smile widened. It was as if I asked her to say her favorite word that she fixed her hair and sighed heavenly before telling me the tale about the island.
It was all about a princess who left their palace after refusing to marry a prince. She believed in love, in writing her own journey so she wandered. The palace guards found out she's missing and she was almost caught. However, she got away by sneaking in a ship—which unfortunately is a pirate ship. A well-know thief for wealthy merchants.
The pirates saw her, she was terrified with the thought of being killed by their hands but when the captain pirate saw her, he fell in love almost immediately. They didn't kill her, instead, she sailed with them throughout their journey that she found family with the pirates and love with the captain.
The palace found out about the lost princess in the pirate's ship. They referred to it as hostage that they posted a bail for the pirates' heads. The princess didn't want to go back too. She wanted to stay to her newly found family and friends, that's where she found herself and in the process of protecting the princess, the ship was attacked by the palace guards.
They got bombs, guns, grand canyons while the pirates only had swords to fight them but it didn't stop them from protecting the princess. Just as the ship got damaged, it got stuck on the side of an unknown and secluded island.
The pirates fought with them. Guns versus swords. The pirates were aware they are no match with the blazing guns but they fought too hard, just to protect their princess. The pirates died.
"O-Oh my..." I covered my mouth, my eyes started swelling. "E-Everyone d-died?!"
G sighed, touching her stomach.
"The pirate, Lucian, remained standing even if he's suffering from numerous gun wounds and stabs. He thought it was the end but as he locked gaze with the princess, Guinevere, and muttered the words I-I love you..." she sniffed too and I saw her eyes swelling too. "The asshole bwisit ang sarap i-stab na palace guard shot h-him too, and it pierced his h-heart."
"O-Oh..." I covered my mouth more, trying to suppress myself from sobbing. I don't want G to cry too, because I did. "T-The pirate's named Lucian and the princess is Guinevere? L-Like you two?"
"Y-Yeah," she nodded. "S-Silly 'no? But i-it made the story extra painful. T-The princess ran away, took a guard's gun and ran to the side of the cliff until she reached the edge and from above, she saw how the pristine blue waters turned to red with her family's b-blood."
"Oh my God, G..." I cried na. I couldn't help it, anymore. "M-My heart..."
"A-And then she was so sad, she thought that everyone was killed. She had no one left and so, she decided to put the gun on her temple and killed herself, too."
I cried loudly. She did, too. We ended up hugging each other while sobbing like kids, pained and sad how the wonderful story ended. It was tragic.
"W-What happened, then?"
"T-The nameless sea was where the pirates died so t-they referred to it as sea of thieves and the island—that's where the lost princess died so they named it as the Lost Island."
We cried. We definitely did. We are sobbing are lungs out while hugging and G might be that hysterical because of her pregnancy hormones but she gave me that hormones too, since I'm crying as hysterical as her.
"Anong mayro'n? Ayos lang kayo?!" not a moment later when Lucian came to us, almost running and seeing the two of us hugging while sobbing, he was definitely worried.
"L-Lucian, you're the pirate 'no?" I asked and seeing how a bulb almost lit on top of his head, he heaved a sigh.
"You are telling her the tale, Guin?" his voice turned softer. G nodded, still with her trembling lips.
"L-Luci..." G called and when I saw Lucian coming closer to his wife, I slowly let her go so she could seek warmth from him.
Lucian knelt on the ground, cupped his wife's cheek to say something while I was drying my cheeks from the tears when I saw a pair of leather shoes in front of me.
I immediately raised my head, my heart thumping upon seeing Seb's worried face.
"You okay, princess?" he asked and when I shook my head and sniffed, he offered me his hand.
I stood—no, I jumped up so I could hug him. He was shock at my sudden movement but chuckled on my ear after, his arms slowly snaking from behind so he could hug my waist tightly.
"S-Seb..."
"It's just a tale, Gabriela," he whispered like a lullaby, chuckling gently. "It's not true, hmm? Don't cry."
"B-But, it was almost the same with our G and Lucian." I whispered, moving away a bit so I could see his face and his black liquid eyes. "T-The pirates d-died and you a-are hurt..." I touched his waist.
"Pero ayos na ako, Gabriela," he gave me a soft smile, putting his palm above mine caressing his waist. "You see, ayos si Cap tapos si terrorista. Ayos din 'yong tatlo tapos ako. Kung naulit man 'yong tale na 'yon dati, panigurado tapos na."
I sniffed, nodding. I continued caressing his waist and lifted my face again to see him.
"Is your wound m-masakit pa?" I asked gently, "I-I heard you were unconscious for a long time. Is it magaling na, Seb? M-Maybe I can try to clean i-it?"
He stared at me for a brief time, blinked and touched his waist suddenly.
"O-Ouch, parang 'di pa nga ako magaling..." he frowned.
"L-Let me see!" I was immediately worried and stared at it, "baka it has blood pa!"
"Parang mayro'n pa nga—" he suddenly lost his balance. "Ano ba, Cap! Aray! Bakit ka naninipa, inaano ka ba?" he hissed out of nowhere and when I looked at his back, I saw Lucian in there, smirking.
"Tanga! H'wag mong takutin si Gab!" he hissed, smirking.
"Eh, masakit pa nga. Titignan lang niya—"
"He's fine, Gab," Lucian nodded at me. "He's just being a kid, nagpapalambing."
My lips protruded. I took my eyes back to Seb's face and realized he's been blushing, as if embarrassed.
"You're really okay na?" I asked worriedly. "You aren't hurt?"
He sighed, moistening his lower lip when he nodded hesitantly.
"Yeah, pero medyo—"
"Sebastian, ihuhulog talaga kita sa barko." Lucian threatened and when Seb's eyes widened horribly, he shook his head at me.
"Ayos lang ako, Gab. Ayos lang." He assured, "jusko, saksak lang 'yon, si Sebastian kaya 'ko! Hindi masakit, kita mo?" he then pushed my palm on his waist. It made me laugh.
"I'm glad you are," I whispered, hugging him on his waist instead. I breathed in his scent when I sniffed his neck and buried my face in it.
"Sorry for worrying you," he whispered a bit and touched the back of my head to plant a gentle kiss.
"But if you're really hurt, you can always tell me, ah?" I whispered. "Or if you're sick, tell me. I can always cook you a yummy porridge—"
"Ay, hindi na pala ako magkakasakit." His expression changed. My lips protruded, slapping his arm.
"What? Are you insulting my yummy porridge?! You know ba na I learned it in my cooking class?" I hissed but he only pinched my cheek, stifling a laugh.
"Joke lang, prinsesa. Sarap kaya no'ng porridge mo, sa sobrang sarap magkakaroon ka ng sakit sa bato tapos mahihimlay. Pagmulat mo may meet-up na kayo ni San Pedro."
I glared at him. He smirked inwardly.
"Galit yarn?" he asked teasingly. I rolled my eyes. "Luh, nag-pabebeng irap si Gabriela!" he laughed.
"Excuse me but it's not pabebe irap, okay?" I rolled my eyes again. "It's called the maldita girl irap!"
"Oh?" he sounded so amused, "patingin nga ng maldita girl irap?" he asked and when I rolled my eyes again to show him what maldita irap is but he ended up laughing and cupping my cheek.
"Ang cute mo, kainis," he mumbled and dried my cheek with his fingers. "H'wag ka nang umiyak. Ito kasing terroristang 'to nagpapaiyak ng pinsan!" he then glanced at G.
I looked back and G's frowning, she even raised her middle finger in the air.
"Pakyu, Baste. Pangit ka." She hissed but when Lucian caught her and called her name, she chickened out and took another finger, turning the middle one into a peace sign.
"Ay wow, may kayakap silang lahat! Ako kaya, when?" a voice came from nowhere and when I moved my head to peek on Seb's shoulder, I saw the frowning Owen with Ian and Romeo.
I laughed and waved my hand.
"Hello, boys! Beautiful umaga, tang ina kayo all!" I greeted.
I heard Seb tske-ed, "akala ko ba ako lang, Gabriela?" he whispered.
"You're super damot," I whispered back. "They're tang ina too kaya."
"Hello, Gab!" they greeted back and walked closer to us.
I felt Seb touching my waist, he then guided me back to our seat and nonchalantly, fixed my hair behind my ear. He even took his handkerchief to dried the tears on my cheek.
"Namamaligno na ata tayo, Cap. Gusto mo magpatawag ng manggagamot? Baka ibang Sebastian na 'tong nakakasama natin!" Romeo blurted out.
It made me smile but Seb just made a face.
"Manahimik kayo kung ayaw n'yong isama ko kayong gawing pakain sa pating." He threatened but the boys only laughed at him.
"'Di ko talaga akalain, Baste," Lucian laughed. "Parang dati lang halos isumpa mo na kami—"
"Ngayon pa rin, Cap, isusumpa kita kapag 'di ka nanahimik." He brutally countered, lowered his hand from my cheek to glare at him but Lucian just smirked, crossed his legs like a king and made G rest on his chest.
"Kinikilabutan pa 'yan dati, eh, Gab." Lucian told me, "kaya medyo nakakatakot pa rin ngayon baka sinapian lang."
"May tama ka d'yan, Luci." G agreed and gave her husband a thumbs-up. "He's basher na super bitter kaya I'm super gulat pa rin talaga—"
"Cap, ako na magbubusal d'yan sa conyo mong asawa. Takpan mo bibig n'yan." Seb hissed, "h'wag kang maniwala, Gab. Sinasabotahe lang nila ang image ko sa 'yo." He then attempted to cover my ear but I didn't let him and held his hand instead.
"What pa, guys? Super bitter ba si Seb?" I inquired, "how many percent?"
"Naku, Gab. One hundred percent. May point ninety-nine pa!" Owen blurted, "kulang na lang baligtarin niya 'yong mga lamesa kapag naglalandian si Cap at G. Sinumpa ko nga na kapag siya nagka-jowa, naku, mata lang ang walang latay!"
"Tss, don't listen to them," Seb muttered under his breath and rested his face on my shoulder, "yakap mo na lang ako, Gab. Inaaway nila 'ko, payag ka no'n?"
"Tapos—"
"Let's not bash Seb na," I told the boys, their eyes widened in amusement. "People change naman, right? He's super sweet naman—"
"Si Sebastian, sweet?!" Romeo laughed loudly, "joke 'yan, 'di ba—" I glared at him and his eyes widened more.
He cleared his throat, I caught Ian elbowed him that he cleared his throat and nodded.
"O-Oo nga, sweet 'yan si Seb. Sa sobrang sweet gusto mo lang papakin ng langgam!" he blurted instead and when I looked at Seb, he was mockingly making a face to tease Romeo.
"What's with the commotion?" Ian decided to speak after the teasing Seb got from the voice who was still on my shoulder and playing with my fingers quietly. "Umiyak kayo, G? Gab?"
"G just told me a sad story," I explained. "It's nothing serious, my heart just ached so I couldn't help but cry, boys. Don't worry." I smiled.
"Ito kasing si terrorista, kwinento ba naman 'yong sa Lost Island. Kitang iyakin din 'tong si Gabriela, damay-damay tuloy sila." Seb eyed G who's been secretly showing Seb a pakyu sign.
"It's bad ba?" G asked, still showing him the finger that Seb groaned.
"Cap, oh! Si terrorista, namamakyu!" he exclaimed that when Lucian glanced at his wife, she gave him an innocent smile. It made my lips tugged for a smile.
The boys showed me photos so I could visualize the story more vividly. I have seen the island but it was too quick. I didn't even have the chance to wander around. I am fully guarded and we left hastily. I think I haven't attended—well, parang not really nga.
"But guys, I still wonder." I said after scrolling the photos from Seb's phone. "Is that it? After the pirates and the princess died, the palace's guards left? Just like that?"
"Not really," Lucian shook his head. It made me interested.
"Why? What happened after?" I asked eagerly, "kasi it's super lungkot if they left like nothing happened. Where's the justice, right?"
"On their way home they got lost and stucked in a formation of rocks—almost a cave." Lucian explained, "they called it the Hidden Lagoon."
"Here," Seb took the phone from me to scroll a bit and showed me the visuals. My mouth parted.
"Wow, it's super maganda!" I gasped, "the water's clear! Oh my God, you can see the bottom! Is this mababaw only?"
"Malalim 'yan," Seb answered me. "Sabi doon sa tale, no'ng naligaw 'yong barko no'ng mga taga-palasyo dito na dala 'yong bangkay no'ng prinsesa, hindi sila makaalis kahit anong subok nilang lumabas. They crashed in the rocks, making it seem impossible to go out then the ship drowned, killing everyone aboard."
"O-Oh..." I nodded, "can't they swim?" I asked.
"Show her, Baste." Lucian said and when Seb scrolled his camera a few more, I saw the sea again but this time I can clearly see the ship literally under the water.
"Oh my, there's two shipwrecks?!" I exclaimed, shocked. "it's deep pala?"
"Yeah," Lucian nodded. "Some attempted to reach the bottom of the ocean but no one got up again so no one attempted. It was like a curse. Just like how those palace people drowned and never got up again."
"There is a version, right?" G said, "about the mermaids?"
Now, it definitely got my interest.
"There are mermaids?!" I almost screamed at the top of my lungs and stood. They laughed. Seb just held my wrist firmly to make me sit again.
"Kumalma ka nga, Gabriela," Seb laughed. "Nakakatakot 'yong sigaw mo parang lalabas na balun-balunan."
"But there are mermaids, Seb!" I blurted, "I love mermaids! Is Ariel there?"
"Iba-iba kasi version no'ng tale, Gab." It's that magical."
"What did the mermaids do?" I asked.
"Little did they know, the sea witches: the mermaids, had watched the journey of the pirate and the princess for a very long time." G said, "they saw how they fell in love, kasi 'di ba they're lurking around the ocean lang. That's what pirates do and the mermaids are ruling the ocean so they witnessed it. Kaya super mad sila when the they killed the pirates and the princess that they took revenge."
"Just near the Hidden lagoon is where an island called Zarina was, 'yon 'yong tirahan daw ng mga sirena sabi sa kwento." Owen explained. My mouth parted happily.
"I wanna go! I wanna go!" I exclaimed, looking at Seb who nodded at me and held my hand firmly.
"We'll go there, Gab-Gab!" G giggled. "Tapos that nga, some says they lured the men to go down the ship and drowned them. They even pulled the ship down so no one could escape. That's how it ended."
I nodded, processing the story inside my head.
"They got their revenge." I mumbled, "the mermaids fought for the princess and the pirates?" my heart softened upon hearing that.
"Yup, but who knows? I heard there's a story more than that." Lucian explained. "We know nothing much about the tale, I'm sure there's more to it than we know about."
"It's amazing," I smiled, watching the two people with the same name and almost the same fate as to the tale. "I am glad you managed to alter the fate. I know it's just a tale and everything might be a coincidence but wow..."
"The princess and the pirate blessed the island, you know?" G smiled, "that whoever goes there will got to have their happy ending. Unlike them."
I nodded, I didn't know why but it's still been bothering me and now I have the courage to ask.
"G, is it true Madam Yuka read your fate?" I suddenly asked.
G's immediately shock. Even Lucian sat straight.
"Gabriela," Seb called and squeezed my hand. "Wala 'yon, h'wag mo nang isipin—"
"I'm just curious, that's all." I gave him a reassuring smile. "I'm not scared or anything, I'm just genuinely curious. G, it's okay if you won't answer my question."
"What did she tell you?" G asked and I bit my lip and shrugged.
"I don't quite understand because super fast siya mag-talk," I lied because I do understand. Maybe not everything but a bit from it. "It's about fate, I guess?"
"Hindi 'yon totoo, Gab. H'wag ka matakot. Mabait naman iyon si Madam Yuka, medyo may mga sinasabi nga lang na nakakatakot pero h'wag mo na lang isipin masyado." Romeo smiled at me, "look at G and Cap, they're okay, right?"
"Yeah, you're right." I smiled and glanced at the couple, "I'm sorry for worrying you, guys. I was just curious. That's all."
Lucian nodded at me. G watched me silently, still, worry is written on her face but when I gave her a sweet smile, she let it go.
I then felt a hug on my waist and when I tried to take a glance at Seb, he's burying his face near my ear and uttered a soft whisper.
"No one's gonna write your fate but you, us." He whispered. "I believe it's not written for us because we're writing it continuously as we take this journey, Gabriela. What's done is done. The tale ended a long time ago, you don't need to worry about anything else."
His words are reassuring. I hugged him tight, too, and closed my eyes, feeling his warmth and tried forgetting what I heard from before but still, it was etched on my head like a permanent mark.
What ended will start again because of me. Is it true?
I hugged Seb tighter and whispered, "I love you, Seb. Also, Mr. Crabs."
"Isang tawag pang Mr. Crabs. Kakagatin ko 'yang labi mo, Gabriela." He groaned. I bit my lower lip.
Happy thoughts, Gabriela! Happy thoughts!
I spent my time making bracelets and scrolling on Seb's phone when he let me. He just left with the boys for work while G and I were near the balcony again overlooking the ocean, a soft song was in the background to help us relax.
"You doing great, Gab-Gab?" G asked and I nodded, smiling.
"Can I have your hand, please?" I asked and when G gave me her hand, I slipped a bracelet and smiled at her. "You like it?"
"Wow!" she nodded, her eyes are glistening. "You did this today? Just, right now?"
"Yep!" I grinned proudly.
"You're great!" her eyes twinkled, "you know ba na I tried making jewelries before and I failed? Like it's super pangit tapos you, you're sitting lang there and you managed to do a pretty one? In a small period of time?!"
"Aww, you're flattering me naman." I touched my chest. "Maybe I'm sanay lang. You know naman na I spent my boring time making bracelets so it's mabilis lang for me. I hope you liked it, G!"
She kissed my cheek. It made my heart thump. I hugged her and kissed her cheek, too.
"Baby Magnus would go out na pala anytime soon, where do you plan to give birth, G?" I asked and touched her stomach.
"It's the next weeks pa, Gab." She said, "but I want baby Magnus to be born in the Philippines, he has a lot of Ninong and Ninang there. I'll leave you for the meantime here with the boys, is it okay? We are planning to go home by tomorrow or the day after it."
"It's okay," I said. "I just want the best for you and Baby Magnus. I know he's gonna be a super cute and tang ina kid—"
"Huh?!" she exclaimed and when I looked at her looking at me like I said something wrong, I shrugged.
"I said he's gonna grow up super tang ina, you know? Gwapo?" I explained and she looked like she's gonna passed out but puffed a breath and showed me a smile.
"Y-Yeah, right. Baby Magnus would grow up a gwapo kid like Luci." She mumbled then tapped herself, "it's okay, G. Fault mo rin naman." She whispered to herself.
G thought me more about smart phones like a professional and I was so amazed. I got a hold of Seb's phone for a while since he let me watch princess movies on it. I kept on watching The Little Mermaid all over again that he downloaded me different versions of it. Even the animation and the live action.
"Uy, si Little Mermaid wallpaper ni basher!" G blurted out upon seeing the phone. I chuckled.
I even saved photos of Ariel and made it his wallpaper, lock screen as they call it and he did not say anything and let me do it. His phone basically became mine that he's taking it away when he's leaving to sleep at night.
"I saved it, isn't it cute?" I chuckled, "and oh! I turned Seb's keyboard to seashells, you think he won't be mad?"
"He won't, I'm sure." G gave me a silly smile. "He'd do as you please. Baste might be super basher but he's a softy, Gab. Mostly to you. I'm happy because you are happy, also him. We might fight a lot because of his attitude but that's just Seb. I know how sincere he is to someone. Kasi if he doesn't care about you, he won't even dare spent some time. That's how basher is."
G taught me how to use it. I used the camera with funny filters in it, lifting my fingers for a peace sign para I'm pretty then I'd go to YouTube to watch interesting things.
Then, I discovered something. That funny series for children? Spongebob Squarepants. When I got to know the characters, I was laughing so hard even G was curious as to why I am that way.
"Why are you laughing hard? Okay lang you?" G inquired when she realized I'm almost losing my breath. Lucian who also got inside has this curious look on his face.
"Food, your majesties," he teased and placed it on our table. "Ayusin muna namin 'yong glass door, ah? Ayaw kasi mag-lock, sira ata. Check namin, we're sorry for the noise."
"Okay lang, Luci." G grinned, "me nga, I'm loud pero you're not nagrereklamo—"
"You should eat well, ming-ming." He then put a whole cookie on his wife's mouth, giving her a look and as if G realized, she chewed on it and nodded.
"O-Oh, okay. It's adult stuff pala, I can't say it loud 'no?" she asked.
Lucian sighed, nodding. A hidden silly smile is on his lips. He looked my way briefly and bowed a little before walking away.
When he left, I stared at the phone again and started chuckling. G asked me again about it.
"I-It's just...I didn't know there's a character named Mr. Crabs?!" I exclaimed.
"Yes!" she grinned, "there are a lot of episodes for that and you'd like it. It's nakakatawa, and Mr. Crabs is the owner of the burger restaurant! He loves money!"
"And his attitude's kinda like..." we both grinned at each other and exclaimed in unison. "Seb!"
"Basher!" she pointed out. "He's rude at times, it's making me super tawa."
"'Di ko talaga akalaing makakaya ni Sebastian 'yong vocabulary ng dalawang 'to," Romeo said out of nowhere that we both smiled at him.
"Sorry, I'm practicing Tagalog. Am I doing great?" I asked.
He gave me a thumbs-up.
"Super, Gab-Gab. Kaso nga lang naghahalo na 'yong English-Tagalog sa inyong dalawa minsan kapag kinakausap namin 'yong guests nako-conyo na kami." He explained.
"Pa-cool lang 'yon si Sebastian, gago," Owen laughed. "'Di mo lang alam kinakausap niya 'yan si Cap, nagtatanong ng tips para 'di manakit ang batok mamatay na raw ata siya ng maaga."
"I remembered that time he said his blood pressure's rising, that time with his sugar level!" I exclaimed and they couldn't stop laughing.
"Gagong Baste," Lucian grinned, he's on his chair and examining the glass door's lock. "Pagpasensyahan mo na nga lang 'yong bibig niya minsan, Gab. Alam mo namang pilit nagpapaka-gentleman pero lumalabas pa rin garapal ng bibig."
"Binibigyan naman ng vitamins, Gab." Owen said, "para 'di manghina mukhang nawawalan na ng balanse, eh. Nanghihina na ata tuhod."
"Wow, ako na naman topic n'yo! Famous na ba 'ko nito?" Seb on his frowning face got inside with Ian behind him.
"Uy, nand'yan na basher. Uminom ka ba munang gamot pang-high blood?" Lucian asked.
"Alam mo, Cap, alam kong boss kita pero nasa point na ako ng buhay kong itatali ko kayong dalawa no'ng terroristang buntis sabay tulak sa barko." He hissed in a straight face and walked closer to me and showed me a plastic bag.
"Is that BJ?" I asked happily. He nodded.
"Did you buy one for me, too?" G asked.
"Hindi, bakit ganda ka ba?" Seb answered her back and when he saw me glaring at him, his eyes widened and murmured something under his breath.
"J-Joke! S'yempre, mayro'n ka kahit terrorista ka!" he exclaimed, "binilhan ko kayong dalawa nitong pinsan mong shokoy."
I punched him on the leg this time. He jumped and stifled a chuckle.
He handed G her BJ and gave me one too, still hesitating to come closer since I'm threatening him with my maldita eyes.
"Gab—"
"Want mo, punch kita?" I challenged him after putting my BJ on the table, pretending to punch him.
"Ay, lumalaban ka na Gabriela, ah." He smirked inwardly, caught both of my arms and a loud scream left my lips when he caged me as he sat beside me, cupping my jaw sideways and pulled me closer to his body to kiss my cheek.
"Seb!" I screamed, laughing because he's been tickling me at the same time, "crazy ka ba? Let me go!"
"Ayaw, ayoko..." he laughed on my ear and tugged me closer on his body. "Akala ko ba good girl ka, bakit nag-aaya ka nang makipagsuntukan ngayon? Niyayabangan mo na 'ko, Gabriela?"
"N-No, I don't—" I screamed loudly when he poked my waist, my body wiggling because it tickles! "Sebastian!"
"Hindi, walang aayaw-aayaw dito, mahal kong prinsesa. Ikaw itong hinahamon ako—"
"Guys, namamaligno na ata talaga 'ko." Seb and I froze on the spot, shifted both our heads back to the boys and saw them with their terrorized look and parted mouths.
"M-May kilala ba tayong manggagamot?" Owen asked.
"Guys, do you like ba na hawak-hawak tayo ng hands tapos sing na lang tayo ng church songs? What if...may bad spirit?" G asked while covering her mouth.
My cheeks heated up. Seb let go of me and glared at them.
"What if..." Seb in his scary voice asked, "what if tusukin ko rin tagiliran n'yo? Kaso gamit ko ice pick?" he then stood and to my confusion, the boys cursed under their breaths and did their best to protect themselves from what they say a bad spirit...Seb.
It was chaotic. G wanted to join the fun and ran around too but she remembered she's pregnant and afraid of making baby Magnus dizzy, she sat beside me and we drank our BJ na lang while watching.
Seb's been targeting Owen and Romeo. He targeted Lucian first but with Lucian's warning look and the statement: "Subukan mo at may fifty push-ups ka pagkatapos." Seb chickened out and chased the silent Ian instead in Lucian's place.
Romeo fell on the ground. Sebastian was about to sit behind his back but I spoke.
"Sebastian..." I called, he stopped. Even in his sweaty face, he looked my way and gave me a questioning look.
He looked great even if he's trying to catch his breath. His once clean and fixed hair is now falling on his forehead.
"Don't," I warned. "Sit down na, you'll hurt each other and exhaust yourself lang." I reminded.
"Gab..." he whined, "isa lang, promise. Matatambangan ko na 'tong Romeo Save Me na 'to—"
"Are you making me inis ba?" I asked in a calm voice and hearing that, he stood abruptly and shook his head.
"Sorry, Ma'am." He said, quite enthusiastic. It made me smile.
"Under! Under! Under!" the boys even cheered and I know he wanted to throw at least one punch but when he saw my maldita eyebrow raising, he cleared his throat and threw them daggers silently.
But what's under, anyway? I looked under the floor and there's nothing naman?
In punishment, Lucian made them fix the door's lock and clean it at the same time. They are like whining kids while wiping it.
"Cap, wala naman akong kasalanan, ah?" Ian hissed while mopping the floor.
"Tss, kasalanan ng isa, kasalanan ng lahat." Lucian said and grinned, "hoy, Sebastian, kunin mo 'yong mga panghalaman do'n sa opisina, bungkalin mo 'yong pasong walang laman diyan."
"Anak ka ng..." Seb hissed, "Cap naman—"
"Gab, oh, he didn't want to fix the damo and everything!" G mumbled and hearing that, Seb made a face then proceeded into marching away from us.
While they're working, G and I are making kwento about things and scrolling through social media. I never knew such thing existed. I can only communicate before through phones, or walkie talkies. And if ever someone would like to ask me something, they'd go first through security and it was them who'll tell me about the concern so I don't have a way to talk first hand.
"So, Gab, let's talk naman about your kilig life. How are you? Is Baste doing okay?" G asked.
"Great," I answered with a smile so sweet it won't go away my lips. "He might be brute at times but he's sweet and caring. I might be naïve for a lot of things but he's always been there to check on me. He'd take my breakfast first thing in the morning and he'd take me to my room at night. He's the first and last person I see everyday."
"He didn't know how to express himself before but seeing it now, I think I felt like a mother seeing a spoiled bully boy turning into a man." She mumbled and touched my cheek. "And to you, too. I can see myself to you before I met Luci-patootie."
"Your husband must've loved you so much," I said dreamily and glanced at Lucian quietly sitting beside G and massaging her other hand.
"Luck." G mumbled, "I am praying you are good with fate, too. Nothing is still certain because we're just starting our married life but we are just hoping it would go smoothly."
I squeezed her hand and rested my head on her shoulder until she whispered.
"Can I ask you something personal, Gab-Gab? It's okay lang if you won't answer, okay?" I nodded. "But how is Seb? Is he sweet to you? Did you two even kissed na?"
My cheeks flushed. I sat straight and glanced at Luci before moving my head to whisper.
"I wanna answer you kasi I wanted to get this super kilig off my chest but secret only, okay?"
"Okay." She whispered back. "I'm good with secrets. I won't tell it to anyone. I promise, peksman, padlock, i-throw ang key!"
My heart hammered. The adrenaline while remembering our kisses came back as I leaned in and whispered.
"Yes..."
She almost screamed but suppressed it by biting her lower lip.
"Luci, Gab and I are talking, ah? There ka muna and be a good boy, don't listen. It's bawal, okay?"
Lucian looked weirded out but nodded and shrugged.
"Tapos? Tapos?" G asked eagerly so I leaned in and whispered.
"It's not on the lips lang, G. He kissed my leeg too." I whispered. We screamed internally and almost pulled each other's hair. "And here," I secretly pointed the skin in between my melons that we ended up smacking each other.
"You girls, okay?" the laughing Lucian called.
"Yeah, we're okay lang." G dismissed him, "don't listen, okay? We have a super duper extra padlock secret and you can't know."
"Alright," Lucian raised his hand playfully.
G whispered again, "you know ba na may first halik with Luci is sa pool? I was so jealous with Joyce—his friend and then I was mad so he kissed me. No, he taught me how to kiss."
"Me too!" I almost screamed, "I didn't know how to kiss, right? So, Seb said we could teach other how to kiss kasi, I am his scholar! Secret only but I am Seb's first kiss." I said proudly.
"What?! You're Baste's first kiss?!" she hissed.
"Yes, secret only."
"Alright, secret only! I won't tell anyone you're Seb's first kiss!" she blurted out in shock.
My mouth parted. G was so shocked she slapped her mouth and gasped.
"Shocks, oh my God, sorry—"
"Ikaw first kiss ni Sebastian, Gab?!" Lucian who overheard it asked loudly in shock, too.
"I-I..."
"Ikaw first kiss ni Baste, Gab?!" Owen and Romeo asked in unison with my mouth still parted exaggeratedly.
"No—"
"Si Gab first kiss mo, Baste?" Ian then asked Seb who just got inside. He was stunned, caught off guard. Our eyes locked and I waved my hand a little, quite nervous.
They interrogated him about that while G and I are seated. She's been hugging me and kissing my cheek.
"Sorry, Gab-Gab. My mouth is super madaldal." She said sadly and slapped her mouth. "Bad mouth!"
"It's okay," I chuckled. "Seb doesn't seem mad, look at him, he's bright red." I pointed Seb trying to conceal his feelings by giving them a poker face but blushing profusely.
"Tss, super ingay kasi ng mouth na 'to." She hissed, "sorry, I should have thrown the key a farther more para it didn't came back. H'wag ka na magsabi ng secret, okay? I'm afraid this petty loud mouth would betray you."
"It's okay, I told you. I wanna tell you stories so bear with it. So, there, Seb respected me, too. We kissed and he Mr. Crabs was turned on—" I told her anyway.
"Oh my...you called it Mr. Crabs?!" she gasped, "OMG, I called Lucian Master Eagle!"
Our eyes are wide. Slowly, I understood their inside joke and when I gave her a look, she nodded with no hesitation.
"It's a secret lang, ah?" G put her finger on her lips.
"Alright, I won't tell anyone na you called Luci's Master Eagle." I said.
"And I won't tell din na you called it Mr. Crabs," she giggled, "Kaya pala super laugh-laugh ka kanina. You, ha? Gab, you're a very naughty girl!"
"But not really naman. Not much." I shook my head at her, "we only kissed a bit. Sa lips, sa leeg and in between the melons. I actually don't know what kiss is it called, we're starting the scholarship pa lang kasi sa kissing department and he said simple muna but it's different, I think."
"Nice one!" she gave me a thumbs-up. "How ba ang kiss? Where? Maybe I know?"
"He kissed me like..." I thought of it and gasped when I remembered. "Peck-peck only."
She froze. She blinked at me rapidly.
"Pek..." she blurted, "he..." before she could finish her words, she squinted her eyes closed.
"G?!" I panicked, "may wrong ba akong na-say?"
"N-No, ahh..." she then touched her stomach and gasped. "I think I'm gonna...Luci..."
"Lucian!" I called, panicking. Lucian stopped from teasing Seb, glanced our way with a ghost smile on his lips.
"Why?" he asked.
"I'm..." G gasped loudly and touched her stomach. "M-My water broke...Luci...Lucian Castanier! I'm manganganak na!" she suddenly screamed at the top of her lungs.
Everyone panicked. It was not in the plan but we had no choice but to send G to the nearest hospital because she's in labor.
It was almost twelve midnight when baby Magnus came out, delivering a good and great news to everyone but every good news has a bad counterpart. Maybe, just for me.
Lucian looked worried as he handed me the phone for a call and I heard my mother's voice in the other line.
"You have to go home, Gabriela." Her voice's cold as she said that.
"But—"
"No buts!" she hissed. "I want you to come home. Now." She cut the line and while everyone is celebrating, I found myself staring at Seb's back while he's peeking on the newborn's nursery room.
