Author's Q&A Corner
(This is the part where the author replied to some comments from Vietnamese readers. I'm just the translator, so please keep that in mind!)
So, I added this little section because I notice many of you have a lot of questions, but I can't possibly reply to every single comment one by one. That's why I'll answer some here instead. If I miss anything, feel free to ask below. Of course, I won't answer questions that would spoil too much of the plot - small hints are fine. But whether the ending is HE or SE? Well, you'll have to read and find out, won't you?
1. Some readers were a bit surprised that one of Takemichi's personalities - specifically Michi - "loves" Takemichi. Some of you asked, isn't that weird? Is this supposed to be 'love myself'?
First off, let me say this: I only researched this disorder online, so my knowledge isn't medically accurate or scientific, especially since this is still considered a rather mysterious psychological condition. But if you've ever watched movies or read stories about it, you'll know that although these personalities are born from the patient's own psyche, they're separate people with their own distinct thoughts and emotions. It's almost like two souls living inside one body.
So, Michi loving Takemichi isn't really that strange. In the end, he only wants to protect his own original self.
But is it really 'love myself'?
Yes, it is. As you can see from the manga - or even in my own story - Takemichi is ridiculously selfless, always carrying heavy burdens, always being the one responsible. It's always, "Touman and Mikey are counting on you," or "Take care of Mikey." But then comes the question: What about me? What about Takemichi?
And that's what I want to highlight. Who's there to tell Takemichi to take care of himself? Who's there to remind him that he matters too? I wanted him to realize that himself. Because "love myself" only has meaning when it comes from within, when the person himself becomes aware of it. That's why I created this other personality - so that he could finally come to that realization.
To illustrate, let me quote a passage from the book "Genius on the Left, Lunatic on the Right" in the story of "The Three Little Pigs." I didn't base my idea on this, but it fits quite well with what I mean.
He said: "He's lonely. His father died from drinking, which isn't exactly something honorable. People around him never showed any sympathy. Instead, they mocked him. And so, he created me. He swore that one day he'd treat his children well, but he didn't live long enough to see that day. That's why the naïve little girl appeared after me."
He said: "I know it sounds ridiculous - being friends with yourself, loving and spoiling yourself. But if you were me, you wouldn't think it's funny at all."
So yes, it is "love myself." But I admit, the way I wrote it is a little dark. When you really think about it, this version of "love myself" is heartbreaking.
2. Does AllTakemichi include a female character? Specifically Hinata
My story only ships male/male pairs. But as I mention in the introduction, I build on the original work and change some details - Takemichi and Hinata are the canon couple from the original author, and I can't just, like, suddenly erase their feelings for each other and have them break up overnight so Takemichi can quickly fall for the characters I ship. That would make Takemichi look awful. Everything needs a process and a reason. And honestly, it also creates more drama. Hinata won't appear very often, but she is a crucial hinge in certain plotlines.
(I ship AllTakemichi as male/male, but I also really like Taka×Hina - they're so cute in the original. Every time Takemichi collapses, Hinata is there for him; she's a good girl. I just hope Ken will tie the story up by having them marry happily. As for me, I'm over here shipping AllTakemichi so my child ends up with the guys. I'm obsessed.)
3. Does this story have NSFW scenes?
Yes, it does! At first, I only planned to post on Mangatoon, but I moved to Wattpad because I wanted to include NSFW content - and I was worried Mangatoon might report me. I did note in the description that the story contains 18+ elements, but I'm still hesitating. And by hesitating, I mean I'm not sure whether to just skim over things lightly or actually write them in detail. But honestly, this story can't not have NSFW. From the very start, that was part of the plan. It's just... I've never written NSFW in depth before, so this is me practicing.
4. I noticed some of you commented in chapter 29 about Taiju being "fake."
First off, that line of dialogue was taken directly from the manga. Second, I think maybe some of you misunderstood this character. In the beginning, Taiju is absolutely detestable - but he's also a character who changes a lot after the Christmas night battle and after he gets baptized.
From my perspective, he really does love his siblings, but his way of thinking is twisted, with an extreme worship of violence. If you read the manga carefully, you'll see that in the future, when Hakkai dies, Taiju goes to the church every single day to pray for him. He even helps Takemichi escape from Kokonoi and Inupi's pursuit, and tells him to wipe away Hakkai's regrets. If there wasn't genuine family love, he wouldn't have done that.
5. A few words about the characters' feelings for Takemichi
Right now, honestly, none of their feelings are fully settled.
Mikey has realized he's in love with Takemichi. A few chapters back, it was still a quiet one-sided crush he buried deep, but you can see it's starting to shift.
The trio - Chifuyu, Baji, and Kazutora - have figured out their own feelings too, but they'll keep them unspoken, one-sided, for the sake of friendship.
Draken's got a storm raging inside, but he hasn't realized it yet. (Don't worry, I'm about to make him realize.) Mitsuya's situation is pretty much the same.
Hakkai is in that stage of admiration and gratitude - stuck in between, not really defined.
The Kawata brothers haven't had much interaction yet.
Inupi really, really likes him. He's basically the loyal big-dog boyfriend type - but he hasn't wrapped his head around the fact that it's romantic love.
Kokonoi is still trapped by his first love, Akane, unable to let go.
Taiju - this one I'm still figuring out. I want to show clearly why Takemichi is able to win him over, and how their bond grows, so it doesn't feel like, "Wait, where did this ship come from so fast?" But let's just say... God already blessed him with some dark thoughts about the kid. For Taiju, calling Takemichi " brat" fits perfectly - it's arrogant, dismissive, like he's looking down on Takemichi as childish and unworthy. Yet at the same time, he ends up trailing after him, fussing over him, doing what he says. That contradiction is fun to play with.
The Haitani brothers - well, what can I say? (Calling them pedos feels too harsh; let's just stick with "perverts.")
Kakuchou is more like, "How did my childhood friend grow up to be this beautiful?" - a slow-burn development.
Izana is way more complicated. At first, he only sees Takemichi as a replacement for Shinichirou - someone to possess, someone who might finally give him the love he craves. But for him to really understand what love is? That's going to take me a lot of time to work through.
Hanma - he's very intrigued. Takemichi is this rare, special color in his world. He's even got the idea of one day swapping places with Ran just to see how it feels. But deep down, he still tells himself he likes cuddling girls.
Kisaki... I fully intend to smack him down hard, but not just yet. Writing the scene where Kisaki finally gets what's coming to him will probably knock me flat. Chapter 51 is just a small but important step on his road to being wrecked.
And Sanzu... well, this guy is pure chaos.
6. Honestly, when I named Takemichi's two personalities, I didn't even bother coming up with original names - I just split "Takemichi" out of laziness, haha. Later on, when the boys started calling him "Michi" in this cute way, it cracked me up, so I let Mikey call him "Mitchy" once. Some of you asked where those two personalities went - they'll be back on stage soon. Are they going to behave? Absolutely not.
7. There will be more OCs showing up later, starting with Kimura, who's meant to help push the plot forward.
8. Since I write mostly from Takemichi's point of view, a lot of things only come to light later on. Just because he sees or feels something doesn't mean it's the full truth.
9. There will definitely be illogical elements. So if you ask me later and demand an explanation, my answer will just be: "Because I like it."
10. Oh, and about the way I write pronouns in the dialogue:
**In Vietnamese, the way characters address each other can show social distance, closeness, or even emotion - it's a whole system that doesn't really exist in English.
So in the story, when the boys are talking to each other like gangsters, I use the rough, street-style "mày – tao" (something like "you – me," but sharper, almost like "punk – me"). But when it's their inner thoughts or softer moments, I switch to "tôi – em," which sounds much more intimate and tender, closer to "I – you" with romantic undertones. Some readers asked why my pronouns feel inconsistent, but that's intentional. I'm keeping it that way because that switch adds layers to the relationships.
11. And yes - plenty more drama to come. I originally thought this would just be a short, fun 50-chapter story, but somehow I'm only halfway through and the drama keeps piling up.
