19 Fed up Arnav
19 Fed up Arnav
“You are talking so sweetly now. Who knows, you may forget me in the future if your wife gives your relationship a chance… You will throw me away for your wife…” she said in a low tone.
She didn’t notice how Arnav’s facial expression changed.
“I don’t know how long this relationship will work. I don’t know; I could even call this a relationship. I don’t know what kind of life I’m living. Don’t know when this will come to an end…” She saw him glaring at her.
She was stuck.
“Arnav…ji…” she tried to say something.
“This is what you are thinking about me? Is this how you feel for me?”
He pulled the mangal sutra on her neck.
“What ’s this?” he asked.
Khushi gulped down.
“Tell me, damn it…” he shouted.
“Mangal sutra…” she stammered.
“Who’s this?”
“Yo…ur mother’s…” She understood what he was going to say.
“Do you think this is a simple chain?” he asked with disappointment.
She nodded no, hurriedly.
“Do you know its value? I tied it around your neck. That means, I respect you, next to my mother. You just wanted me to fill your partition, but I waited a day and created a drama to bring this for you. It’s because I don’t want you to feel insecure. I want you to understand how important you are to me. That was why I brought my mother’s mangal sutra for you.” He said, gulping hard.
“Arnavji…I just…” she touched his shoulder.
Arnav shrugged her hand off. Khushi was panicked.
“Do you know what I had left behind only to be with you? I came, leaving my alumni party. I even excused myself from my friends. I didn’t even have lunch. Because I didn’t want to miss the chance to be with you, because we don’t know what plan Nandhini will have after coming from the trip. But you didn’t understand me. I don’t think you will…” his voice was painful.
Arnav went to the window and stood looking at the River Yamuna. He was angry. That made her nervous because she was the reason for his anger. She shouldn’t have talked like that, but what would she do if she was insecure?
Khushi slowly approached him. When she came close to him, Arnav left the place. Khushi felt dejected. It was clear that she spoiled his mood. He wasn’t even ready to talk to her. Her eyes literally teared up. She stood up, spilling tears.
That was when someone knocked on the door. Arnav rolled his eyes in annoyance and opened the door. He saw a servant standing.
“Whaaat?” he asked, gritting his teeth.
“Sir, your lunch is ready…” the servant was nervous.
“Go to hell with the lunch…” he yelled.
The servant looked at Khushi, who was standing with tears. Arnav shut the door with a loud thud. The servant stepped back, anxiously. No doubt Arnav was in sense. He wasn’t drunk. Yet, he was furious, and Khushi was crying.
He thought Arnav was not on good terms with Khushi. He tortured her when he was drunk. He thought, Arnav tortured her only because he was drunk, but it didn’t seem so. He was still making her cry even when he was in his senses. Poor girl…! He felt bad for her.
Of course, he was Nandhini’s man. He sent a report about their poor relationship progress to Nandhini. Nandhini smirked, reading the message.
“What happened?” Natasha asked.
“Arnav is furious even when he is in his senses.”
“I have never seen such an arrogant man in my life. I don’t know what he expects from a girl. Accept it or not, Khushi is a beautiful, nice girl…” Natasha said.
“When did I deny? I too can’t understand him. He has become too arrogant these days. He was not like this.”
“The credit goes to you, only. You are the one, the sole reason for his terrible change…” Natasha said.
“He wants to have a child, but he doesn’t like the girl. Then, how would he have a child?”
“I, too, don’t know…” Nandhini said with a sarcastic smile.
She was so satisfied to know Arnav had no good terms with Khushi. That was what she wanted. She never wanted Arnav to love anyone.
On the other side, Khushi felt bad. Arnav was not in his room. She didn’t know where he went.
Arnav was on the terrace. He stood, facing the Yamuna River. The chilling wind from the Yamuna River could not cool down his mind. He was fed up. He didn’t know how to make her understand what role she had in his life. He didn’t know how long he had been on the terrace. He didn’t even feel like having lunch. He sensed his condition only when it started, getting dark. He came to his room and saw Khushi sitting on the floor, next to the bed, leaning her head on the bed, crying.
She stood up, seeing Arnav. She was scared to get close to him. She felt helpless when Arnav headed to the bed without looking at her. He lay on the bed, folding his hands. She came to him and called him slowly. Arnav closed his eyes, sensing her approaching him.
“Arnavjiii…”
Arnav didn’t react to it.
“I’m sorry, Arnavji…” She said, kneeling in front of him.
Arnav opened his eyes and looked at her sharply. Khushi gulped seeing his penetrating gaze. His eyes said he was not ready to forgive her. To prove his stand, he turned opposite her.
Khushi didn’t know what to do. She made up herself. This was a time to show him what she expected and why she spoke like that.
“Arnavji, please eat something. Don’t show your anger on food… please…” she pleaded.
No response.
“Arnavjiii…”
He didn’t look at her.
“Won’t you talk to me?” she asked.
“Arnavji, if you don’t talk to me, I will jump into the Yamuna River…” she said.
Arnav turned behind and looked at her, shrinking his eyes. She was taken aback, seeing his rigid face.
“I agree, I was wrong. Think, standing on my shoes. How insecure I have been. You are the only one who is for me. I know that. I just wanted to hear from you, how much I mean to you. You said, I have the place, next to your mother. I feel proud of myself to be in the place in your heart. You have no idea what impact those words created in my heart. I’m grateful to you for giving me such a position in your heart. I feel like I achieved my birth goal. Thank you for loving me.”
She leaned towards him and kissed his forehead. Arnav closed his eyes. He tried to turn again, but Khushi didn’t let him do that.
In no time, she started kissing his face, lying on him, making him perplexed. Arnav looked at her stunningly. He couldn’t believe that she was lying on him.
“I like you so much. I just don’t want to miss you… for any reason, Arnavji. You are my everything. I love you so much. I know you are hurt. Although I feel bad for hurting you, I feel glad about doing that. Then only, I learned what I mean to you. Please spare me once. This will not happen again. I will never talk like that. Trust me…” She again kissed, this time, on his neck.
Arnav closed his eyes, feeling erotic.
“I know I was wrong. That’s why you don’t talk to me. I can understand. Yet, I will be with you. I won’t leave you, no matter whether you speak to me or not.” She closed her eyes, keeping her cheek on his.
Arnav flipped her on the bed. Khushi looked at him. In no time, he kissed her. To his surprise, she reciprocated to him. That made him surprised.
To be continued…
