Today finally the day came where I will bid farewell to my beloved baby. He has been under my care since six years. I still remember that day when I found him all alone lost in the field. He looked timid, vulnerable, innocent , lost, pale ,thin and unaware of the danger lurking around him. Had I not gone out for a walk I wouldn’t have found him. Since then, I have been looking after him like my own child. I would take him for long walks, read out books to him and pour out my heart to him. He was like an amazing friend to me. He would listen to me without any complaints or arguments. He was the Thinking about those days my eye get glassy. I cherish every moment spend with him. But today finally the day came where I have to say goodbye to him. I took him out in open. Sharpened my knife I laid him on the floor ,he looked afraid and started whining. I had to be strong. Taking the knife I slit his jugular vein. Blood flowed all over. It was as if he bathed in blood. I slowly peeled his skin. It was really tideous task. Cutting him into four large pieces, I took them inside. Slowly I chopped them into small pieces. I took a huge pot and heated the oil. I thoroughly wash those pieces and put them in the hot oil. It no more stinked. Once the meat became tender. Garnishing it I served it for the dinner to my guest They enjoyed the food and one of them remarked, “you really bred your sheep well. I enjoyed my dinner as well as the evening. Thank you.” I still feel bad I had to serve my favourite sheep for dinner because it was the best and I had to serve the best for this auspicious day.
