9 Pit
Part9
Next Morning
When Aman woke up, he saw Arnav sitting on the bed thinking deeply. He didn't even look at Aman... in fact, he didn't even sense that he woke up. His face was completely impatient. It was not hard for Aman to understand that he had seen something NEW in the dream.
Aman rushed to him and shook his shoulders. Arnav looked at him bewildered.
"ASR, what did you see today?"
Arnav looked at him like "How do you know?"
"Tell me ASR," he asked in a feeble tone looking at Shyam who is still sleeping.
"Arjun is none other than me"
Aman felt ecstatic. He hugged Arnav controlling himself from shouting. But he was confused seeing Arnav silent. He should be happy. But why he is not? That's when something kicked his mind.
How Arnav could be Arjun? It seems illogical.
"But you are Arnav"
"I and Khushi died... together"
"Whattttt!" she shouted couldn't control himself.
"It seems like someone killed us. Our bodies were full of blood. Khushi was on my lap when she died. I also died in the very next minute."
"Is it something about your future?" Aman asked horrifying.
"No way, my outfit looked old-style"
"I'm confused"
"Me too"
"Is it something about your previous birth?" Aman asked impatiently.
"What rubbish... I don't believe in REBIRTH."
"It doesn't matter whether you believe it or not. Truth can't be changed ASR"
"Don't confuse me"
"I'm trying to clear your mind. Why are you getting the dream if it is not related to you? Why did you fall in love with Khushi at first sight? Why did you get angry when you saw her with Arjun? Why did you feel a connection with this village? Why ASR?"
Arnav nodded NO as he really had no idea.
"We should try to meet the young man. He may know something about it"
Arnav nodded yes. Aman sat huffing.
"Somewhat I'm relieved."
Arnav looked at him like WHY?
"I was scared thinking about what if you become a murderer. You were so keen to kill ARJUN then"
Aman said controlling his laugh. Arnav scratched his forehead, feeling awkward.
"What bloody anger, ASR? I was really scared and prayed that you should never meet Arjun... but you are meeting him every day in the mirror"
Aman burst out laughing. Arnav smiled, rolling his eyes.
"That means, Khushi is going to fall in love with you..."
Aman winked at him.
"Let's see"
They saw Shyam waking up. So, they became silent. Khushi sent the breakfast with Shushant.
After having breakfast, Aman and Shyam started their work with the statues which they got from NK's field.
"I have to meet the precedent of the village."
Shyam nodded yes. Arnav gestured Aman something and left. It was not hard for Aman to understand, Arnav is going to the forest temple.
Yes, Arnav is going to the temple. But his legs stopped seeing Khushi, who was going somewhere towards the left side from the temple's direction. His legs automatically followed her.
Arnav turned in a particular direction and got stuck, seeing the place. There was a mustered field which is full of YELLOW flowers. This is the same place where ARJUN... I mean he chased Khushi.
Khushi entered the field and stopped, in front of the tree. There was a small Devi Maiya statue. Putting a garland on the statue, she lit the lamp. Closing her eyes, she prayed heartedly.
She was stunned when she turned around, seeing Arnav standing before her.
"Digger Sab, Aaapppp?"
"What are you doing in this lonely place? It's not looking safe."
"This is my village. I have been coming here since I was small"
"Won't your God accept if you worship from home?"
"This is Nanne's field. His father used to do pooja here regularly. But he got a transfer and left the village. I felt bad as there is no one to do pooja for my Devi Maiya. So, I'm continuing...."
"Don't you have a friend? You can bring someone with you instead of coming alone" he said with concern.
"I don't need anyone, Sab. Why should I be depending on someone?"
They were talking while walking between the plants.
"I think we are walking in the wrong path"
"This is not a wrong path but another path. This path leads us to Nanne's field"
"Ohh"
Suddenly, Khushi remembered something. There was a pit in Arnav's side. He will fall down if he doesn't notice it. She turned to warn him, at the same time, Arnav put his leg at the edge of the pit. Arnav lost his balance and about to fell, Khushi clutched his hand shouting...
"Digger Sab..."
She gripped his hands tightly but Arnav couldn't stand and fell, taking Khushi on him. In that, Khushi's saree got stuck in a sharp stone. She fell on his chest, closing her eyes tightly whereas Arnav was holding her, close to his chest tightly. After rolling into the pit a few times, they halted. Both of them were breathing hard.
Khushi opened her eyes and saw their position whereas Arnav was still closing his eyes, getting pleasure from the hug.
Khushi came out of his clutch and started examining his head.
"Are you hurt?" She asked worriedly while checking his head.
Arnav's eyes got rooted on her face. He was looking at her not blinking. Khushi looked at him as she didn't get an answer. She lowered her gaze, seeing his rooted gaze. That's when she sensed that she is without a saree. She crossed her hands over her chest and turned opposite to Arnav. She closed her eyes getting horrified. She was with a stranger, without a saree. Her heart was beating fast.
Arnav galloped towards her saree and took it from the stone carefully. He again came to Khushi and covered her with the saree. Khushi felt her stomach mixing up when he did that. She draped the saree hurriedly.
Khushi struggled to come out of the pit as the sand slid. Arnav extended his hand towards her and looked at her sternly. She slowly kept her hand on his. Arnav helped her to come out.
"Are you all right?"
Khushi nodded yes.
"Are you hurt?" She asked, not looking at him.
"Nope, you saved me" He intentionally said that. So that she will look at him.
And he was right Khushi looked at him confusingly.
"But you fell down before I saved you"
"You saved me... and I'm not talking about today's incident"
"Then?"
"I will tell you later" He smirked.
He put her in confusion so that she will be guessing about his stance and thinking about HIM.
"What did you come here?" She asked him.
"I saw you when I was going to the Shiv temple."
"What temple?"
"Forest Temple"
"Who told you about it?" she asked curiously.
"None"
"Means?"
"I know there is a Temple"
"But how?" she asked puzzlingly.
"I don't know"
Khushi frowned at him couldn't understand anything.
"I want to meet the young man"
"You want to meet the young man? Do you know who he is? Even I haven't seen him yet." She said sarcastically.
"I already saw him"
"Whaaaat! You are lying"
"No... I won't lie... Do you remember you treated my wound?"
Khushi nodded yes.
"I saw a man who is wearing a saffron dhoti. He had a chest-length beard and blue eyes. He called me, that's why I ran towards him but he was not there."
"But how do you know he is a young man?"
"NK told me"
"I can't believe this"
"Why?"
"He is a kind of saint. He spends time doing poojas. He hardly comes to the village. Even villagers have not seen him. My Amma says he has divine power. People believe if he comes in front of someone, they are whether blessed or cursed" She said worriedly.
"What do you think?"
Khushi nodded NO.
"I don't know"
"I'm blessed"
Khushi looked at him perplexed.
"Yes, I'm blessed... or else how would I get someone who is worrying for me in this stranger area?"
Khushi looked at him like, about whom you are talking?
She understood seeing his smirk that he is talking about HER. Khushi's cheeks turned into RED. She bit her lip bowing down.
"Don't you?" Arnav asked smilingly.
Khushi ran from there smilingly.
"Answer me" Arnav shouted from behind.
Khushi continued running while looking at Arnav, giving him YES as an answer.
To be continued...
