Arnav was on the stage with a crawling smile. Garima was delighted to see the Raizada women's step. She chided Khushi when Khushi mentioned dancing at the wedding, but she didn't expect the Raizada women to dance to welcome Khushi onto the stage. She felt like putting kohl in their eyes because every eye was on them. They would have grabbed the bad vibes for sure.
They themselves took Khushi to the stage. Though it was not the right way, who cared? Khushi sat next to Arnav and smiled at Arnav brightly, who reciprocated.
The pandit forwarded the mangal sutra to Arnav. He tied it around Khushi's neck and saw excitement on her face. As she was slightly looking down, only Arnav could see her face. He was alert. What if she started dancing on the stage? She might do it. She was capable of doing that. After all, she was the girl who enjoyed leapfrogging.
"Shhh... Don't react. Everyone is looking at you. We will celebrate later..." He whispered.
Khushi looked at him and tried to control her smile, but she could not.
"I can't, Arnavji..." She chuckled, rolled her eyes, and smiled.
He filled her patrician with vermilion. They asked to take pheras. They stood up to complete it. Khushi smilingly circled the holy fire, enjoying the showering flower petals.
Khushi wanted to shout, " Ohhh hooo...!
Arnav pulled her gently for a hug and controlled her from doing that. Didn't he know what she would do?
"Arnavji, you asked me not to become excited and then you become..."
"Of course, I'm also excited, but not like you. I hugged you to stop you from doing anything crazy!"
She dropped her jaw, and Arnav chuckled. They were asked to get blessings from elders. They did.
The guests started wishing them with gifts. Arnav wondered, seeing Narendar at his wedding... the same Narendar he had thought the culprit. He was there with his sister. Arnav knew Narendar wanted Arnav to marry his sister. She herself told him that. When he was attacked, he thought Narendar would be the culprit because no one else showed him the same level of revelry that Narendar did. He didn't know what changed his mind about marrying his sister. Narendar would have thought of getting his control that way... through his sister! Arnav supposed. Who knew what was there in others' minds? He could not even expect the man who was raised with him and lived with him in the same house could be changed... Akash!
Arnav could not forget what Shilpa did. He thought she was a nice person... Until Khushi came into his life. Shilpa changed upside down after Khushi's arrival. She didn't even think of killing Khushi by hiring goons.
How many hurdles have they crossed to reach this stage! Narendra, Shilpa, Veena, and Gautham...! Gautham and Shilpa were in prison, Veena was at home, breaking her leg, and Narendra was at his wedding function. Most of all, HIM... the man who never thought of marrying anyone was standing on his wedding stage! Everyone seemed to need someone to change their mind. Narendra changed his mind when his sister came into his mind. Shilpa changed when Khushi entered her life. Akash changed his mind about Payal. Almost everyone was into someone that they could do anything for.
Narendar gave up on his rivalry. Shilpa took over the rivalry. Aakash even became selfish.
Life was always unpredictable. No one knew who would win and how people would change. Sometimes we would also be the reason for someone's change. Like, Khushi became the reason for his change. Arnav looked at Khushi, who was excited like anything. He smiled. She had never seen such a bubbly girl in his life... she was full of life. He would forget his grief if she were with him. Finally, she became his wife, crossing so many obstacles.
Just because they got married, he could not relax. Arnav knew that. He would always be watchful because anyone could change at any time.
The groom and the bride were ready to leave the hall. Khushi hugged her parents, spilling tears. Arnav waited silently. Shashi took her hand and gave it to Arnav. He didn't utter a single word. Words weren't needed. Arnav blinked his eyes, and Shashi smiled with satisfaction. That one gesture from Arnav was enough for Shashi. He hugged Arnav emotionally.
"I will take care of Khushi, uncle, trust me..."
"I trust you, Arnav."
Arnav smiled.
Shashi brought them to the car and made them sit. The car started. Arnav looked at Khushi, who was sad. She moved towards him and leaned on his shoulder, circling his bicep. Arnav leaned his cheek on her head and held her hand.
Khushi tried to say something, but Arnav stopped her by pressing his index finger to her lips, leaving her perplexed.
"We will discuss anything in OUR room. Ok?"
"Mmm..." She pouted.
Raizadas welcomed the new bride by performing the grahapravesh ritual. Khushi kicked a kalash and walked, dipping her feet in a red liquid. She left her red foot mark on the floor, imprinting her arrival on the family. She was supposed to get in, but halted on hearing,
"Stop..." Said NK.
"Why?"
"You are not allowed to walk inside..."
"Whaaat?"
"Don't get tense, Khushiji. Bhai would take you to his room. It's a ritual." Akash said.
"Oh... Ok, take me..." She extended her hand towards him. She thought Arnav should also walk with him hand in hand.
"Not like this..." Arnav smiled and picked her up in his arms.
Khushi widened her eyes in shock.
"This is how you should be taken inside."
"Is it?"
Arnav nodded, pressing his lips. Khushi chuckled, delightedly. Arnav walked to his room carrying her. He put her down when he came to his room.
"Now ask me what you tried to..."
"I wanted to ask you if you..."
Cutting her off,
"Your father trusts me... Even before I promise him. Why don't you?"
"When did I say I don't trust you?"
"Do you?"
"Mmm... More than my father... More than myself..."
Arnav smiled.
"Then what were you supposed to ask me?"
She hugged him and leaned on his chest.
"I wanted to ask you, would you take me to my parents every month?"
Arnav pulled her from the hug, frowning, and asked,
"Monthly once? Is it enough? I thought you would meet them every week..."
Khushi's face lit up.
"Will you take me every week?"
"Khushi, they are your parents. You are their only daughter. Just because you are married, it doesn't mean you should keep your distance from them. They are still a part of your life. You can meet them anytime. You don't need my permission."
Khushi pinched his cheeks.
"This is why you are unique... This is why I'm really into you... This is why I adore you... This is why I feel like biting you..." She bit his nose tip, making him chuckle.
"I too want to adore you..." He said, biting her earlobe slightly, making her flinch.
"How will you adore me?" She circled his neck and asked cheesily, caressing her cheek with his.
"You will blush if I narrate... So..."
"So?"
"We will go for practical..."
"Won't I blush if you go for practical?"
"No..."
"Why?"
"It's because you will not be in your senses..."
Khushi blushed, biting her lip. That was when Khushi's hip chain slipped. They saw that. Arnav bent down to take it while saying,
"Thank God... I thought you would like to play LEAPFROG with me..." He said, looking at Khushi, who took a few steps back to jump over him. He widened his eyes, seeing her getting ready to jump over him as she could not stop herself.
Seeing his expression, Khushi put the brakes on her legs and stopped, looking at him, perplexed. Both of them were stunned for a few seconds before bursting out laughing.
The End.
