16 Proposal
16 Proposal
"I like Khushi. I want to marry her," Arnav said, giving her a lifetime shock.
She looked at him with an open mouth. She closed her mouth, sensing everyone's gaze at her. She bowed down and looked at people from the corner of her eye. Arnav smiled, finding it cute.
"Is it? Do you like her?" Nani asked, as it was the answer to the question she asked him that morning.
"Mmm... I don't just like her, but want to marry her." He said firmly.
Khushi stuffed the last piece of laddo into her mouth and chewed it hurriedly making a face. Actually, she wanted to eat it relishing after finishing the food. After all, she was a sweet lover.
"Khushi bitiya," Nani called and Khushi coughed.
Manorama, who was next to her, tapped her back, and Arnav hurriedly handed her a water glass. She didn't deny it. Taking it from him, she gulped it in one go and looked at Nani.
"Relax, Khushi bitiya, why are you tensed?"
"Not only tensed but also nervous, Naniji. I didn't expect him to say so..." She said, pouting in a complaining manner.
Arnav continued eating smilingly.
"Don't you like him?" Manorama asked.
"She likes me," Arnav answered before Khushi did.
"I like him because he's a cool Boss."
"He is never cool with any of his PAs before you know?" Nani said smiling.
"Yes, he was known for his arrogance," Manorama said.
"Yes, the whole office shivers if Bhai enters..." Akash smiled.
"If you have doubt, ask Aman. Poor him was the one who got scolded by him the most," Nandkishor said.
Khushi bit her nail because she never witnessed such a scene in the office.
"Don't hurry. Take your time and decide."
Khushi stood up and said,
"I'm leaving, Naniji..."
Nani nodded as she sensed that Khushi was tense. She didn't want to test her more.
Khushi looked at Manorama and said,
"See you, aunty."
"I want you to call me Maalu Mami..."
Khushi smiled awkwardly and left not before glancing at Arnav. She rushed out and stopped outside. She pressed her chest and huffed. Taking the bike key, she inserted it in the bike. Arnav pulled it out, who followed her. Khushi looked at him and dropped her jaw.
"Give my key..." She asked.
Arnav folded his hands, smiling at her. She averted her gaze. Seeing him smiling at her, she asked stammering.
"Why did you do that?"
"What did I do?"
"Don't pretend like you know nothing."
"Do I know everything?"
She fiddled with the handlebars.
"Won't you marry me?" He asked seriously.
She nodded no. Arnav was taken aback.
"You were so interested in drooling over me... But, when I'm ready to marry you, you don't want to... What kind of are you?"
"I don't want to marry you because I don't want to be jealous nor do I want to lose my peace of mind."
"I didn't get you. What's the connection between our marriage and you becoming jealous and losing your peace of mind?"
"You are looking so dashing..."
"So?" He raised his brows.
"Girls will drool over you just like I do. They will try to snatch you just like Shilpa does. I can't spend my life tabbing you and safeguarding you."
"Why would you do that when I will be the one woman man?"
Khushi was struck for a while.
"Men are so mean. Don't I know, they would be behind girls until they accepted them. Once the girl accepts him, he will show his real colour."
"I have only one colour that you are seeing now..."
She pouted.
"Don't you trust me?"
"How could I trust you? Anyone can change anytime."
Arnav rolled his eyes. He understood she had a crazy thought about her marriage issue also. So he decided to deal with her in HER WAY.
"Then, you can't trust anyone... Not even your father and mother..."
"My father is different. I'm his only daughter. Even if he had two or three daughters, he would be the same. It would not have made a difference. But my husband is not like that. He can't be shared."
Arnav smiled. So, she wanted him for her wholly.
"Ok, if this is the case, you can't marry anyone either because anyone can change anytime. Do you think men, who are not handsome don't cheat their wives? Could you say unhandsome men are loyal?"
"How could we say so?"
"You can't, right?"
"It seems I can't be peaceful even if I marry an unhandsome man..." She bit her nail.
"See, however you can't be peaceful. In fact, our marriage has very little risk..."
"How?"
"You know girls will drool over me. So, you can be careful from the beginning. But if you marry an unhandsome man, you will be casual and will start trusting him, too. You will be heartbroken if he cheats you because you would not expect that. But, in my matter, you will be alert all the time. So less risk. Am I right?"
Khushi didn't answer because she became thoughtful.
"So, give me the favour of the possibility and marry me."
"I need time," she said looking somewhere.
"Ok. Tomorrow is Sunday. Take a lemon and rub its juice on your head. Then take a hot water bath. Your body will become cool. Then, think about marrying me relaxing." He said smiling.
"I always do that. Will you also do that?" She asked excitedly.
He wanted to laugh because he said that to tease her but she thought it was his serious advice.
"Sometimes..." He lied.
"Good, you too do that. Now, give me my key," she extended her hand.
Arnav looked at her palm and then at her face. He showed the key. He forwarded it to her hand and pretended to keep it on her palm, but caressed her palm with his fingertip instead. Khushi pulled her hand and looked at him with an angry pout.
Arnav forwarded the key with a smile. She snatched it from him and started the bike.
Arnav held her bike handlebars and said,
"I hope your answer will be yes..."
She moved away and said nothing. Arnav stood smilingly. She and her logic!
Khushi came home all the way thinking about Arnav's proposal. She threw her bag on the bed and fell on it.
She was happy as well as nervous. Arnav wanted to marry her. But how could she marry such a big shot? What if Shilpa killed her? She sat on the bed feeling nervous. Shilpa would definitely do that. She tried to hit her with her car for irritating her. Then, why won't she kill her if she were married to Arnav?
Taking her phone, she dialled Arnav. He saw Khushi's name and widened his eyes. He attended the call smilingly.
"Have you decided?"
"What if Shilpa kills me in anger?"
Arnav was stuck. He could not understand anything as he didn't think that way.
"She tried to hit me with her car for being close to you. If she can't even bear me being your PA, what will she do if I become your wife?" She bit her nails.
Arnav rolled his eyes.
"Mami is fully set to file a case on her. Sl Shilpa won't dare."
"She dares... She will definitely do that."
"Do one thing, file a complaint against Shilpa that you have a life threat..."
"Haaan... Good idea" she disconnected the call, chuckling.
Arnav looked at his phone unbelievably.
"She cut the call..." He tapped his forehead with the phone smiling.
"Don't know what her decision will be..." He thought.
.........
Khushi looked at the wall where her red sling bag was hanging. Her eyes became wider as the place was empty. She rushed to the wall.
"Where is my bag?" She murmured.
She ran to the kitchen. Garima smiled at her.
"How was the party?"
"Good..."
"You were hesitating unwantedly..."
Cutting her off,
"Amma, where is my Singapore bag?" Khushi asked.
"It will be in your room only..."
"If it is in my room, why would I ask you?"
"Isn't it there?" Garima asked with confusion.
"No... Didn't you see it, too?" Khushi was a little nervous.
Garima nodded no.
"Did that Jealousy Orangutan come to my room?"
"I didn't see her coming here."
"You and I didn't know about the bag. Then who would have taken it other than that Orangutan? She has an eye on my bag. I know that. She is the one who stole it."
"But how could we ask her? She will not accept it even though she took it." Garima guessed it right.
Khushi thought for a while.
"We don't need to ask her. She herself will bring it back..." Khushi said, gritting her teeth.
"It will happen only in your dream..." Garima said.
"Khushi's dream will come true...I will make it possible."
"But how?"
"Wait and watch the magic..." She went inside.
Garima frowned. Would Veena bring the bag back? How was it possible? Veena was not a girl who gave up easily. Then, how was Khushi so confident? She didn't know.
After a while, Khushi came out. Veena was there with Vidya. A foreign chocolate slipped from Khushi's hand. Before Khushi took it, Veena did that and stuffed it in her mouth, unwrapping it. Khushi slammed the floor and went to her room. Veena laughed with Vidya.
Half an hour later,
Khushi waited for Veena. She saw her coming out of her room. Khushi intentionally peeped out slowly and looked here and there. She knew Veena was looking at her. In fact, she did that only to grab her attention. She ran to the pillar and hid. Veena frowned. What was Khushi doing? She became curious. She, too, hid. Khushi smiled inwardly and ran to the kitchen.
Veena followed her without making a noise. Khushi waited for her to come.
"Amma, see this..."
Garima was taken aback, seeing the thing in Khushi's hand.
"What's this?" She almost shouted.
"Shhhhh... Don't shout. No one should know about it. This must be secret. Then only the police will not arrest us when the PERSON dies..." She said as if she were a gang leader and was explaining her plan to her gang.
"Whaaat? Why should the police arrest us? Who will die? What are you telling Khushi?" Garima became panicked.
"This is the black magic egg... This will affect the person who stole my Singapore bag." She said didn't look in Veena's direction, but gestured to Garima about Veena's presence. She huffed in relief.
"At first the person will get affected with nonstop loose motion... Then vomiting... It will transform into vomit's great-grandmother of Blood vomit. Then finally, the person will die...hahaha..." Khushi laughed like an old movie villain.
Garima suppressed her laughter.
"Only twenty-four hours. If the person doesn't return my bag before that, the final ritual is confirmed..." She said looking at the egg in her hand.
Veena slowly peeped and saw the egg, which was full of black and red dots. Khushi made them with her lipstick and kohl.
"I need a white cloth to tie this on our house entrance,"
"Give it to me. I will tie it..." Garima asked.
"Nooooo..."
"Whhyyyy?" Garima shed in the same modulation.
"Except me, no one should touch it... It will affect you, too..."
"Oh..."
"Give me a cloth..."
Garima gave her a piece of white cloth. Khushi tied the egg in the cloth.
"Hey, Kali, Chamundi... Send the evil spirit to the person and open her bottom door... So, the loose motion will start..." She again laughed.
Veena rushed out of the place, before they saw her.
"She ran..." Khushi whispered, chuckling.
Garima hit her forehead laughing.
"Do you think it will work?"
"Definitely work..."
"What if Veena doesn't believe it?"
"She will believe..."
"But how?"
"I mixed loose motion medicine in the foreign chocolate she had a few minutes ago..."
Garima looked at her as if she were a ghost. Then she burst out laughing.
To be continued...
