37 Plan Backfired
Part 37 Plan Backfired
Everyone looked at Veena, who was lying on the ground. Payal helped her to stand up.
"Aahhhh..." she shouted.
"What happened?" Manorama asked.
"Someone spilt ice cream here. She stepped on it..." Vidya said, pointing at the ice cream on the floor.
"I can't stand..." Veena shouted.
Vidya touched her leg, and she again shouted. Rishi rushed to her and examined her ankle.
"It seems a fracture..."
"Whaaat? Fracture...? Oh, my God... ankle fracture takes a long time to heal..." Vidya said, horrified.
"Who spilt ice cream here? Someone should have done that knowingly..." Vidya yelled.
"Who would do that? No one from her family has such a cheap idea. Children are provided with ice cream. Someone among them should have spilt it while eating...by the way, who would you think someone did that knowingly? Do you have such an idea to make anyone fall?" Payal asked.
"Why... why would we make anyone fall?" Vidya stammered.
"Who knows what's there in your mind? Didn't you create a scene in the temple to show Khushi bad in our eyes?" She cornered.
"We are sorry, beta. I agree they did wrong. But now, they have changed. They literally want this marriage to happen." Rishi said.
Vidya nodded yes.
"If it is so, why didn't they present at the Roka stage? What were they doing in the kitchen?" Payal asked.
Manorama shrank her eyes, thoughtfully, seeing her arrowing questions at them.
Rishi looked at Vidya, expecting her to answer.
"I felt thirsty. We went to the kitchen to drink water."
"Servants would have given you water if you had asked..." Said Payal.
"Yeah, but the Roka ceremony had started. Servants would have wished to see their boss's Roka function. We didn't want to spoil their happiness." Vidya said, making an emotional face that didn't suit her.
"Ok, leave it... this is an important day. We should enjoy it instead of spending time on an argument, even though it's necessary..." Manorama said.
"I'm taking her to the hospital..." Rishi said.
Shashi nodded.
Rishi and Vidya took Veena to the hospital.
"All of you go and have dinner..." Nani requested.
People started dispersing.
"Guptaji, you too go..."
Nani looked at NK and said,
"Nanne, take them to the dining and look after them..."
"Sure, Nani..." NK assisted them
Manorama waited there for them to leave. Payal looked at her.
"Is there anything I should know, Payal? You are not a person to question anyone if it is not needed."
Everyone looked at Payal.
"They were planning to make Khushi fall using banana juice. That's why they went to the kitchen. They couldn't tolerate Khushi getting such a great life. Idiots, they didn't want this marriage to happen. That's why I played the same card..."
"What do you mean?" Akash asked.
"It's me who spilt ice cream to make her fall..."
Everyone looked at her in shock and surprise.
"But why, Payal?" Akash asked.
"What do you mean by WHY?"
"You should have alerted Khushiji, instead of doing the same to them... What's necessary to create a scene when people gather at RM..."
"Will you tell the same if they had made Khushi fall? They are incorrigible creatures. They won't realize their mistakes... ever. They will not stop creating problems. That's why I did the same to them."
Akash was about to say something, but Manorama stopped him.
"Why are YOU creating scene now, Akash? What Payal did is right. I appreciate it. They will keep creating problems because they didn't want this marriage to happen. So, making them sit at home will be a good solution to avoid problems."
"What if they find out what Payal did?"
"I would have told their plan to Guptas..."
"What if they don't believe you?"
"Why won't they believe me? Didn't everyone see what they did in the Temple? And, who cares if they don't believe?"
"I do, Payal. How could I let anyone talk rubbish about my wife?"
"Do you think we will let it happen?" Arnav, who was silent till then, said.
"I didn't mean it, Bhai..."
"Then, what did you mean? Payal saved Khushi from their dirty plan. Instead of appreciating her, you are getting upset with her. This is ridiculous..."
"I'm sorry, bhai. I bothered about Payal."
"They are the most dangerous women I have ever seen. I should have been alerted in their matter. I didn't expect they would implement someone immediately after the mess they created yesterday."
"Don't underestimate them, Akash. They are poisonous snakes..." Nani said.
Akash nodded.
"Let's go, the Guptas went to the dining. They will feel awkward if we stay here." Nani said.
They headed to the dining. Arnav went to the dining room to see what his would-be wife was doing. He chuckled to see her relishing a sweet. NK made them sit alone and treated them specially. Arnav gestured to NK to bring him a chair. He pulled a chair and kept it next to Khushi. Without minding anything, he sat.
"It seems someone is relishing the food..."
"It's so tasty, Arnavji..." She extended it to him.
Holding her hand, he ate it from her hand, making her dumbfounded. She looked at Raizadas from the corner of her eyes.
"No problem... eat, eat..." Manorama said.
Khushi smiled awkwardly.
"Yeah, you are right. It tastes good..." Arnav said.
"Nannav, why don't you eat with Khushiji?"
Arnav looked at Khushi and nodded smilingly. The food was also served to Arnav.
"Arnavji..." Khushi said, whispering.
Arnav raised his brows.
"Our Roka is over..." she said, showing the ring on her left ring finger.
"Haannn...so?"
"We are half husband and wife now..."
"Oh, really?" he chuckled.
"Mmm..."
"Okkkkay... we are half husband and wife now... so? What do you mean by that?"
"Go, Arnavji... you are not excited about our wedding, like me..."
"How should I show my excitement?"
She stuffed a sweet in her mouth with a weird expression.
"Khushi..." he whispered.
"Mmm?"
"We are half husband and wife now..." he said, showing the ring on his finger, the same way Khushi did.
She glared at him.
"Why are you glaring at me? This excitement isn't enough?"
"Are you making fun of me?"
"Chi chi... why should I make fun of you when you, yourself, would do that..."
She dropped her jaw.
Arnav saw a server dropping a spoon from his hand. He took it, bending down. Arnav nagged Khushi. She looked at him. Arnav gestured for her to look at the man. Khushi saw him and frowned.
"Whaat?"
"Don't you feel like leapfrogging?" he asked teasingly.
Khushi looked at her surroundings and made sure no one heard them.
"This dress will not be comfortable..." She whispered and chuckled.
Arnav was dumbfounded.
"Oi... will you do it with anyone?"
Khushi laughed.
"Dare you... don't think of doing that... We will do it personally in our room, after our marriage. Ok?" he smiled.
Khushi nodded ok, controlling her smile.
They didn't know someone was observing them from the corner of the dining hall. But someone noticed it.
To be continued...
