Manorama disconnected the call looking at Akash.
"Where is Khushi?" she asked.
Akash looked behind as if she was asking someone.
"I am asking you only," Manorama said.
"Me? Why are you asking me, Mom?"
"It's because it's you who called Khushi last... I mean before she went to the temple."
Akash was horrified. How did Manorama know about his call? Didn't he ask Khushi to keep it secret? How did Manorama talk about it?
"What are you talking about, Mom? When did I call Khushiji? Why should I call her?" Akash asked looking away from Manorama.
As Manorama didn't expect it, she was shocked. She knew very well that he had called Khushi and asked her to do something. Then, why did Akash lie?
"Didn't you call her and ask her to come somewhere?"
"No, I didn't..."
"Don't lie. I was on the call with Khushi when you called her. She asked my permission to attend your call. She was supposed to cut my call but I asked her to put me on hold. After talking to you, she disconnected the call and came to my line. She said she was going to surprise Arnav Bituwa..."
"What are you saying Manorama is it all true?" Asked Nani.
Before Manorama answered Payal did.
"Haan Naniji, I too, was with MaaJi when she talked to Khushi. You're adjusting Lakshmi's clothes at that time."
Akash was more shocked. He didn't expect such a witness to his action.
Manorama moved towards Akash and held his upper arms.
"Tell me Akash, where is Khushi? Where did you call her? What did you tell her? She left everything and came to meet you, I suppose..."
Akash looked at Arnav nervously who was staring at him sharply.
"No, I just called her but I didn't call her anywhere I don't know where she is..." Akash said.
"No, you are lying... " shouted Manorama.
"Akash bituwa, this is not funny... this is your brother's life issue. Don't play with him..." Nani pleaded.
"I'm not playing, Dadi..." Akash said without thinking.
"Then why did you call Khushiji?" Payal asked.
"I..."
"If you dare again to say that you didn't call her, I will kill you..." Manorama warned.
Akash gulped hard.
"Tell us, what did you talk to her about? She said something about a surprise. What's that? Her parents are searching for her. If you don't tell us, I will ask them to file a case with the police." Manorama said gritting her teeth.
"Mom... Please, try to understand. Won't you trust me?"
"How could I trust you when I know what you did?"
Manorama asked furiously.
"Mom..."
"Don't call me Mom. I'm ashamed of you. You are jealous of Arnav bituwa. I helped him to start a business but I denied it when you asked me. Not because I don't want it to happen. I wanted you to learn business by being with Arnav bituwa. So that you will become capable of running a business alone. But, you didn't understand that..."
Cutting her off,
"Stop it, mom... You are talking unnecessarily... Yes, I wanted to start a business and you denied it. Why do you bring it here now?" Akash was angry and also disappointed.
"It's because it has a connection. You want to hit Arnav bituwa emotionally... Right?"
"Mom, this is not fair..."
"What did you talk to Payal about? Didn't you fight with her for making Khushi's sister fall?"
Arnav raised his brows getting amazed. Was that Payal? Did she make Veena fall? Did Akash fight with her for doing that?
"Mom, I told you the reason. I don't want Payal to get into a problem. That's why I asked her not to do that."
"You know Khushi has a life threat. Still, you called her... She was talking to me until your call came. She became eager after your call. I asked about the call but she said it's a suspense. Where did you call her?"
Before Akash answered,
"To the temple..." Arnav said.
Not only Manorama but also Akash looked at him in shock.
"How did you know, Arnav bituwa? If you know she went to the temple, why didn't you stop her?"
"I didn't stop her because I wanted to know what Akash was up to..."
Akash looked down nervously.
"How did you know about the call?"
"My men are guarding Gupta's house. A few of them followed Khushi and got to know she went to the temple to meet Akash, who said he had an idea to surprise me. Khushi believed his words and went to the temple to meet him because she thought he was trustworthy." Arnav said looking at Akash.
Akash removed his specs and closed his eyes.
"Why did you do that, Akash?" Payal asked.
"It's because Payal's life was in danger..." Arnav said and Akash looked at him stunned.
"The police tracked your phone..." Arnav said making him horrified.
"What do you think? I could not identify your change?"
That was when Akash realised, why Arnav didn't get nervous about Khushi's kidnapping. That meant was Khushi safe?
"Yes, Khushi is safe..." Arnav said, as if he read his mind.
"From the time, you showed a difference in your behaviour, I kept my eye on you."
"Who threatened him?" Manorama asked.
Akash looked at Arnav expecting him to say.
"It's not Narendar..." Arnav said.
"What do you mean, Arnav bituwa? If he is not, who did that?"
"I don't know but it's not Narendar."
"How do you say?"
"His sister met me the day before yesterday. She said something I didn't expect..."
"What did she tell you? How did you believe her?"
"Narendar wanted his sister to marry me. He even talked to his sister about it. But before he did that, I was attacked."
"Do you know who that is?" Manorama asked Akash.
Akash hesitated.
"Open your mouth at least now..." Payal said.
"Goutham Malhotra..."
"Whaaat?" Arnav frowned.
"Yes, Bhai... He is furious with you from the time you bagged the Government deal. It seems he had a bit of a plan about the deal. As you bagged it, he could not tolerate it. Didn't Khushi know what happened with her? But how? How did Arnav bring her out of the ploy without her knowledge? They were confused, thrilled and thunderstruck.
