Oneshot
I close the door and throw away my schoolbag. Now it's 6 pm and the winter sky has been already dark.
In the window, sat a tall slender man. His silent shadow mixed with the dark.
He came. Again.
-You're late.
-My apologies.
I say without glancing at him, nearly thoughtless.
He lifts up my chin, his cold fingers make me shudder.
-That's not a cute tone.
His hand falls down to my neck. The cold covers all over me. His frosted breath gets nearer and nearer to my throat.
-Where is my Grandma?
-She's fine.
He ignores.
-Where is she?
I stubbornly repeat. And unsurprisingly his face becomes annoyed.
-She is our deal, right? I hope you still remember!
I know I'm trembling, but it involves my Grandmother.
He looks at me quietly. A weak smile sets on his pale lips.
-Seems that I was wrong. Still you are one of those stupid beings.
He lets off, throws a mocking smile on me.
-What should I tend to tell you, silly human? I just move one finger, then you, your Grandmother, even that whole world will disappear.
His fang puts deeply in my finger. Cold, hurt, numb, those feeling makes me so annoyed that my tear set out unconsciously.
-The skinter you are, the sweeter your blood is.
***
When I awake, he left.
His mark still lays on my finger. It's still hurt, but stop bleeding.
-Oh my god, sweetie, what happened to your hand?
-I... just careless. Don't worry grandma!
I help her sit down, then quickly go and wash my hand.
-Where had you been, Grandma? I didn't see you at home.
-I came to the convenience shop. Don't you remember, sweetie? Today is your birthday.
My birthday? Yeah, I absolutely don't remember.
-Grandma, I'm thankful for that.
I hug her tightly. Try to warmer her cold body with mine.
-But it's too dangerous to out alone. You can get hurt easily, you know? I was really worried.
-I wasn't useless that much, sweetie. See! I even cooked a feast to celebrate.
-Yes, you sure are great.
I sigh. Well, she doesn't hear me at all.
So, it's turn out that today is my 18th birthday, "that" day.
3 years ago, when my grandma died, I also had no reason to continue living.
I cut my wrist. The smell of my blood attracted a demon. I still remember the first word I heard from him:
" So sweet".
...
-Grandma.
-What's wrong, sweetie? Hurry and eat up your food.
-I love you, Grandma.
Her warm body makes me tremble and my tears pour out.
"He will make you forget about me. So you have to live happily, and healthy.
Forever."
