Chapter 13 : Again... ?
We were awakened from our sleep by the sound of police cars. Damn it, they still won't leave us in peace! It was almost dark. We had to finish this before nightfall. I sat up and peered down from the rooftop. This time I saw a large group of police officers marching into the school like a parade. Next, a luxurious black car pulled into the school grounds. It must belong to someone important. The car door opened, and a dignified-looking man stepped out. My eyes widened. It was none other than Inspector Hoang Bao Lam, a notorious police inspector and scientist. He strode confidently through the school, wearing sunglasses. With a gesture, he ordered his subordinates to investigate the unusual activity. Tri and Thanh also observed subtly. These police officers were nothing unusual to us, but Mr. Lam was different. I've seen it on the news; for the past three years or so, Mr. Lam has been making headlines as a savior. He not only solved over 300 notorious criminal cases but also targeted highly wanted criminals. Any case that came to his attention was neatly resolved, in a maximum of one day. The three of us, inexperienced in life, how could we possibly stand up to him? Back together, we planned how to take down the police first. Each of us armed with ten knives, we swaggered downstairs, waiting for the right moment to strike. Two policemen unexpectedly blocked our way on the third floor, their guns drawn. I didn't care. In less than five seconds, Tri and Thanh had charged up from two different directions, killing the two unfortunate officers and sending them tumbling from the balcony, their bodies crushed. Immediately, Mr. Lam pointed towards us. The policemen climbed to the third floor one by one and surrounded us :
_ You're surrounded! Put down your weapons!
