Dawn's POV
I strolled through the town of Fernsworth in Inari. I approached Paris, who was working as an apprentice blacksmith. "Hey, Paris. I need to talk to you. It's about Tori." He stopped sharpening an axe. I heard faint laughter echoing in my mind, and a flash of the image of a man with cat ears and one kaleik eye sharpening an axe. I stepped back, dazed. I pulled Paris off to the side. "Tori is pregnant with my ex-boyfriend's child. I can remember him somewhat now. We're moving to Valond to try to care for the baby." Paris put the axe over his shoulder. "If this is an invitation, then yes, I'll go with. If it's not, then this just got really awkward." I sighed in relief. "We're leaving as soon as I can get a boat. And thank you."

We boarded a ship two days later with the earnings of the buck and some of Tori's savings. I put a hood on so I wouldn't attract attention, as I was a rare noble going to Valond. We were heading to Appletown to stay with Tori's sister, Veronica. We sat below deck for the majority of the voyage. We emerged and saw the coastline of Valond.
