Part 41 Hidden truth

Arnav let Aman enter in, only after they handed Naren over to the police. Aman sat on the couch, running his eyes in the house.

"Nice house..." Aman said.

Arnav sat in front of him, not giving heed to his oily words. He looked at Khushi.

"Bring him coffee, Khushi. He has to go too long..." Arnav said looking at Aman.

Khushi nodded ok and was about to go to the kitchen, she stopped, giving attention to Aman.

"I will have it later, Khushi. Why so urgent?" He grinned.

Arnav glared at him.

"Don't glare at me ASR... Didn't you say, I should not ask anything more than coffee?"

Cutting him,

"Just a cup of coffee..." Arnav said stressing.

"Yeah.... that means, I can have only one cup of coffee... Right?" Aman asked as if he doesn't understand.

"Yes... You are cent percent right" Arnav said rigidly.

"Yeah... That's why I'm saying I will have it before I leave Dehradun"

"Whaaaat do you mean?" Arnav asked shrinking his eyes.

"I meant what exactly I mean..."

Arnav sparked at him by his eyes.

"Khushi, I don't expect anything other than a cup of coffee as ASR said. But I won't deny if YOU (he stressed) provide me anything because I know you will be heartbroken if I deny you..." he said eagerly.

Khushi looked at Arnav controlling her smile who was emitting fire on Aman through his eyes.

"Khushi, sit here..." Arnav ordered.

Khushi looked at Aman pausing. Clutching her hand, Arnav pulled her on the couch. Khushi sat next to him, gulping down.

"Leave it Khushi... You don't have to feel bad for me. He is like that..." Aman said casually.

"She is not feeling bad for you..." Arnav said gritting his teeth.

"Look at her face, ASR... sadness is written all over her face. She is not like you. She had a little soft corner for her brother" Aman said.

"She has no brother..."

"She has... Me... Her brother..."

Arnav rolled his eyes.

"Won't you accept me as your brother, Khushi?"

Khushi looked at Arnav not answering his question. Aman made a sad face whereas Arnav smirked.

"What do you think, you can make her say yes for everything? She is my Khushi... She won't do anything I don't like... know that" Arnav said proudly. Aman's brows went up.

"Then, ask her to adopt me as her brother, ASR"

"Why? To corner me using your brother's tag?"

"Why would I corner you ASR?"

"Shut up... Don't I know you?"

"Of course, who else other than you, knows me well? You know me... that, I will never leave your side"

Arnav rolled his eyes.

"Will you say NO?"

Arnav said nothing but looking at him.

"Didn't I say Khushi? See, he became silent" Aman said.

"So?" Arnav asked.

"I came here to tell you something very important, ASR..."

"Whaaat?"

"I'm not going to tell anyone about your whereabouts... Live your life with Khushi happily. I'm ready to do anything for your happiness."

Arnav gulped down. Khushi switched her gaze from Aman to Arnav unbelievably.

"But, be safe... No matter where you are." He stopped for a while.

"You will be safe and sound in RM. You know that. Why don't you consider it?"

"I have already decided to come back to RM," Arnav said without any expression on his face.

Aman was baffled. He looked at Khushi unbelievably. Is it really Arnav who said that? Did Khushi make him agree to come to RM?

"I know what you are thinking... It's not because of Khushi I want to come to RM. For your information, she doesn't want me to go to RM if I don't like..."

That stance made Aman more surprised. He looked at Khushi astonished. But Khushi was suffocating about the trust Arnav was having in her.

"I told you, she won't do anything that I don't like..."

"Whatever it is... I'm happy about your decision of coming back to RM"

"I think I should reconsider my decision," Arnav said looking at Khushi.

"Khushi, ask him not to do that..."

Khushi's answer made Aman speechless again.

"It's not a matter of CUP OF COFFEE, Bhai... I won't force Arnavji for anything... I don't want to..."

Aman knew she was talking about the cup of coffee she is ready to give him. He knew Arnav won't trust anyone easily. He trusts Khushi and it was worth doing it seems. Aman said.

"Why don't to want you to come to RM, ASR?"

"Nothing is serious, Aman... I will come to RM... soon"

Aman sighed in relief. He didn't want to talk about it again. Arnav doesn't like to be forced. So, it's better if he kept silent.

Aman stood from the couch.

"I'm leaving ASR... I'm expecting you in Delhi "

"Don't you have coffee?" Khushi asked.

"That's ok, Khushi. You are coming to Delhi. I will have anything in RM" he smiled.

Arnav knew having coffee is an excuse for Aman to talk to Arnav. That's when the ordered food arrived. Khushi received it. Aman was about to go,

"Wait..." Arnav said and turned towards Khushi.

"He will also have lunch with us," Arnav said.

Khushi nodded ok smilingly.

"That's ok, ASR..."

"Shut up... and sit"

Aman sighed.

"Can't you tell that little sweetly?"

"I'm like this..."

"I too thought so...until I'm coming to Dehradun," Aman said looking at Khushi smilingly who blushed.

They shared the food and ate.

"By the way, don't you know cooking, Khushi?"

Before Khushi answered,

"Khushi cooks well... her dexterity makes your mouth watering"

"Then why didn't you cook today, Khushi?"

Khushi looked at Arnav suffocating.

"We slept..."Arnav said plainly.

Aman stopped eating and looked at Khushi who was drawing patterns on the plate.

"This is why you don't want to come to RM because you can't sleep in the daytime?" Aman teased.

"Why can't I sleep? Who will question me?"

"No one... who has the guts to question ASR?" Aman said seriously.

"No one would question Mrs. ASR too... for anything"

Aman nodded yes and went to wash his hands.

Arnav saw Khushi thinking something deeply. He touched her shoulder.

"What are you thinking about?"

Khushi nodded no with a smile but Arnav knew it was not her usual smile because her eyes looked restless. He gestured for her to eat. She nodded yes and ate.

"Bye, ASR..."

Arnav nodded yes and shared a hug with Aman, making him smile. Aman took their leave.

Arnav locked the main door. Khushi walked in. Taking fast steps, Arnav clutched her hand. Khushi looked at him, turning behind.

"What's wrong?"

She nodded no.

"Khushi, I know you... tell me what the matter is"

Khushi gulped down her fear. Her face itself told him there was something. Clutching her hand, Arnav walked upstairs. He turned towards her after locking the door.

"Tell me, Khushi... what's bothering you...?"

"Arnavji... I... I want to tell you something that I hid from you..."

"Hid...? What did you hide from me?"

"I mean I didn't hide it intentionally but I didn't tell you about it..."

"What...is...that?" he asked giving enough space in between the words.

"I...I tried to escape from you once..."

"Of course, I know that... I caught you..."

"No... you didn't catch me... I myself came back to you..."

"Whaaaat do you mean?"

"I mean, I escaped from you again... (she sighed, closing her eyes) I added sleeping pills in the food and made you eat it... not only you but everyone ate it... I ran from the farmhouse. Two men tried to misbehave with me. A woman who crossed the place by car saved me from them. I asked her to drop me at the bus stand. As my dress got torn by a thorn, she took me to her place..." Khushi saw an unbelievable stare on Arnav's face, like, *how could you go with an unknown woman? * Khushi understood that and answered.

"I thought she must be an unknown woman. I didn't know who she is until I go to her place..."

"Who is she? " Arnav asked shrinking his eyes.

"Your sister, Anjaliji"
