Harry handed Hermione a small box, repeatedly instructing her that it was only to be opened if something were to happen to him... The charm placed upon it would ensure that the box could only be opened on the day Harry's breathing ceased, and that only Ron and Hermione would be able to unlock it. Hermione insisted that she did not need to open it at all, and maintained that someone as strong as Harry would never let anything happen to himself.

In truth, there was nothing inside that belonged to him. Harry had prepared a house as a wedding gift for his two friends, along with a small present for Mrs Weasley as thanks for always having cared for him...

In the glow of the late afternoon sun, the curly-haired girl left only after receiving answers that satisfied her... Hard to believe, wasn't it? How could someone who appeared perfectly healthy simply say he was about to die—and then die? Even someone as intelligent and perceptive as Hermione would not easily realise that every word Harry had just spoken had been a lie.

"What did you leave for me, Potter?" Draco posed yet another question, though he already knew he would receive no answer he wanted.

"What did I leave? You're talking nonsense again... I've no idea why the Healer-in-Charge even allows you to follow me about. You're becoming a nuisance to death."

"Don't mention that word."

"Fine then—you're a nuisance to the point of making me sick."

"You're not allowed to be sick either..."

What could I possibly leave for you? For a nobleman to demand such a thing from an ordinary person like me is rather laughable... Draco lacks for nothing, after all.

In September, the owls once again delivered letters to witches and wizards across the country. By then, the campaign for equal rights had entered a relatively stable phase of operation. On an early day in September, Harry submitted his letter of resignation to Kingsley Shacklebolt.

At some point, no one quite knew when, Harry had begun wearing gloves whenever he went to work, as though the boy had changed in many ways...

"May I know the reason?"

"On a sudden impulse, I suppose. I simply want to leave everything behind and travel around the world for a while... thinking back, there are hardly any fresh memories in my youth. I find that somewhat regrettable."

Although Harry was still very young, he had always worked with dedication and a strong sense of responsibility... moreover, he was a hero of the wizarding world, and his supporters remained numerous and steadfast.

"Are you going with Ron? I haven't seen a leave application from that boy... Very well, I shall approve a temporary leave for you—half a year. Or return when you are ready."

Seated opposite him, Harry gave a slight shake of his head, neither denying nor confirming, before speaking. "This battle will be far more arduous and prolonged than we imagine. I will always support you... When Hermione graduates from Hogwarts, she may well become an even more capable aide than I am. She has fought tirelessly for house-elves, ever since she was only in her fourth year."

It seemed Uncle Kingsley still intended to say something more, yet Harry had already risen to his feet and given a slight bow of his head...

Harry smiled brightly and said, "This time I'd like to try the feeling of travelling by Muggle aeroplane. If I don't leave now, I might be late... Goodbye, Uncle."

Draco was still assigned by the Healer-in-Charge to accompany and care for Harry. Strangely enough, a noble like Draco accepted the order without protest. Harry, for his part, no longer had the strength to oppose the Healer's decision either. Perhaps until the end of their lives, the two of them would have no choice but to face each other and let the days slip by...
