Pilot Pt.1
Particle Accelerator Explosion
I am setting the 10 pounds of meats in the freezer of the restaurant I work at.
I can hear the television channel that is talking about the particle accelerator.
I listen while I set the meats on the different shelves in the freezer which of is freezing and I forgot my warmer sweater from my car and I didn't feel like heading outside in the rain.
I then hear after about 3 minutes on the tv from the newscaster that worries me.
"Wait shut down and evacuate..." I stammer not forming a proper sentence.
"The storm may have caused a malfunction to the primary cooling system." I hear the newscaster say.
I look over to the tv and after a minute the power goes out but luckily the freezer has a generator that kicks in.
I all of a sudden hear deep rumbling.
I brush out my dark brunette hair from my face.
I look out the window and see what looks like this bright orange beacon move up towards the sky.
A blast happens and I am flung back further into the freezer and I pass out.
9 Months Later 2 hours before Barry wakes up
Third Person:
Dr Caitlin Snow and Cisco Ramone are in front of the two beds that are containing Barry Allen and Kaylen Young.
The song Forever Stuck In Our Youth by Set It Off was playing on Cisco's phone on speaker.
"What are you doing?" Caitlin asks Cisco while checking Kaylen's vitals.
"She likes this song." Cisco says gesturing to Kaylen.
"How could you possibly know that?" Caitlin asks again moving next to Cisco who is currently in front of.
"I checked her Spotify song history. This song was the most played." Cisco explained to Caitlin.
"I mean, she can hear everything, right?" Cisco asks Caitlin.
"Auditory functions are the last sensory faculties to degenerate." Caitlin says.
"Forever stuck in our youth oooh oooh! This song's chorus is actually really catchy to be honest. Also did it just get way colder-" Cisco starts before Kaylen shoots up to a sitting position gasping.
Kaylen's POV:
I shoot up in a sitting position gasping as I wake up.
"Oh, my god!" This guy with long hair says shocked as he turns around to look at me.
There is also a woman with a lighter shade of brunette.
"Where am I?" I ask confused about where I am.
"She's up." The woman says.
"Dr. Wells, get down to the cortex, like, right now." The guy says into something I can't see from my angle.
The woman comes to me to check on me.
The woman shines a light in my eyes which blinds me a bit.
"Pulse 120, pupils equally reactive to light." I look around and try to sit up more do to being freaked out.
"Look at me, look at me." The woman's says. The guy comes closer to us.
"Hey, hey, whoa, whoa, relax." He says calmly as he sets his hand on my shoulder.
"Everything's okay. You're at S.T.A.R. Labs." He continues.
I look at him a bit confused.
"S.T.A.R. Labs? Who are you?" I asked him.
"I'm Cisco Ramon." He starts.
"She's Caitlin— Dr. Snow." He gestured to the woman.
I look at the woman for a sec as I stand up from the bed.
"I need you to urinate in this." Dr. Snow says to me holding a small container.
Cisco Ramon takes it out of her hand.
"Not this second." He says to her.
"What is— what is happening? What is going on?" I asked both Cisco and Dr. Caitlin Snow trying to get some answers.
"You in a meat freezer that kind of exploded a bit." Cisco tells me.
"What?" I say still confused.
I turn around and see this this screen that was showing me like it was recording me.
What shocked and scared me the most was my hair.
It was no longer it's dark brunette. It was a white blonde similar to Elsa's hair from Frozen.
"My hair is different. It's a white blonde.." I say out loud as I grab a strand and hold it up closer to my eyes.
"You should be frozen like ice but instead that didn't happen. We still need to figure out more." Caitlin explains.
"Come here and have a seat." Cisco leads me to a chair and I sit down.
"You were in a coma." He tells me.
I look at him.
"For how long?" I asked suddenly worried.
"Nine months." A different voice says.
I look in the direction of the voice and I see Dr. Harrison Wells in a wheelchair.
"Welcome back, Ms. Young." He says.
"We have a lot to discuss." He tells me.
20 minutes later and I'm walking in the hallway with Dr. Wells.
"It's hard to believe that I'm here in S.T.A.R. Labs. I've always imagined what this place looked like on the inside. I've always wanted to meet you face to face." I tell him.
"Yeah? Well, you certainly went to great lengths to do it. S.T.A.R. Labs has not been operational since FEMA categorized us as a class four hazardous location. 17 people died that night. Many more were injured. Myself among them." Dr. Wells starts as he takes me to over look at the place that held the particle accelerator.
"Jeez. What happened?" I asked looking down at the ruins of the particle accelerator.
"Nine months ago, the particle accelerator went online exactly as planned. For 45 minutes, I had achieved my life's dream, and then—then there was an anomaly." I look at Dr. Wells as he was speaking.
"The electron volts became unmeasurable, the ring under us popped. Energy from that detonation was thrown into the sky and that, in turn, seeded a storm cloud and a blast that—" Dr. Wells starts.
"That caused that accident in the meat freezer at my job." I interrupt shocked.
"That's right. I was recovering myself, when I heard about you and the guy Barry Allen who is still unconscious in the bed that was next to yours. The hospital was undergoing unexplainable power outages and freezing temperatures every time you and Mr Allen were both going into cardiac arrest which was actually a misdiagnosis because you see, both you and Allen weren't flatlining, Kaylen. His heart was moving too fast EKG to register his and your body was too frozen like for the EKG to register yours." He explains. We make it back to the console room area that I woke up in.
"Now, I'm not the most popular person in town these days, but your parents gave me permission to bring you here, where we were able to stabilize you." He finishes.
"My parents?" I ask.
"Your parents, yes." Dr. Wells says with a smile.
"They came to see you quite often." He continues.
"Your mother talks a lot." I hear Caitlin say as she hands Dr. Wells a cup.
"Also, quite cool." Cisco says.
"I need to go." I suddenly say. I need to see my parents.
"No, you can't." Caitlin tries to intervene as I try to walk off towards the hallway.
"No, no. No Caitlin's right. No, now that you're awake, we need to do more tests." Dr. Wells says.
"You're still going through changes. There's so much that we don't know." He continues.
"I'm fine, really, I feel normal." I insist. I look at my hair again.
"Well mostly normal." I say.
"Thank you for saving my life." I tell them gratefully.
I then start to walk towards the elevator before I turn back and peak through the doorway.
"Can I keep the sweatshirt?" I asked gesturing to the S.T.A.R. Labs sweatshirt I'm wearing.
"Yeah, keep the sweatshirt." Dr. Wells answers.
"Okay." I say then I leave to head to my parents' place.
