half brothers (FTO au)

chapter 1

Ashl0390

It's been a few weeks since Bryan found out about his half-brothers, and the others are starting to worry about him. On the day he learned about them, he arrived late and looked a bit shaken.

He quickly told them he was fine and just didn't sleep too well the night before due to a nightmare. Though it's become obvious that there's more to it.

Bryan has been getting barely any sleep, due to feeling like he is being watched whenever he is alone. It has gotten to the point where he's constantly passing out from exhaustion whenever he's training, and he gets brought to the infirmary.

Bri had been on an important mission so she had no idea what was going on, and was confused when she entered the guildhall and saw all but one of the guild members in the kitchen, not eating or talking, just thinking.

''Is everything okay?'' They all turned to look at her, having not heard her come in.

They all looked at eachother before Lo Pho spoke up.

''No... something is wrong with Bryan...'' Bri had a look of concern on her face when Lo Pho said that.

''What do you mean?'' Lo Pho sighed and began to explain what has been happening for the past few weeks.

Bri went silent and remained silent for a moment after Lo Pho spoke, before looking at them with an unreadable expression on her face.

''I'm going to go take to him.'' After speaking, she left without any hesitation, but that didn't stop her from seeing the hopeful looks on the faces of her guildmates.

She went outside and hopped on Phantom's back, before telling him to fly to the house of the fire dragon slayer. Once she made it to the dragon slayer's house, she went to the door and knocked on it.

''Bryan! Can you let me in!?'' She waited for a moment and heard some quiet shuffling before the door opened to reveal the exhausted dragon slayer.

''H-hello your majesty.'' He put a smile on his face but it was obvious that it was fake.

He moved out of the way and motioned her in, to which she did enter after sending a concerned look to the dragon slayer. Bri had quickly scanned the room before her eyes went back to Bryan.

''Bryan, what's wrong?'' Bryan tensed when she asked, but tried to play it off.

''Wh-what d-do you m-mean?'' Bri sighed and looked him in the eyes before speaking with a tone that said she wouldn't be taking no for an answer.

''Bryan. The others are worried sick. And I am two. You need to tell me if something's wrong. The guild is your family, and you need to tell us if something's wrong.'' Bryan began to tear up, causing Bri to pull the smaller male into a hug.

She always thought of him as a child, her instincts making her try to be a motherly figure to him. He hugged her back and cried into her shoulder, telling what has happened and that he feels like he's being watched whenever he's alone.

She was surprised at that, but what mattered now was calming down the young slayer. She let him cry while gently rubbing circles on his back, whispering comforting words to the dragon slayer. Eventually, his crying had stopped as he had fallen asleep.

Bri let out a sigh of relief before pulling out a lacrima and sending a message to the other guild leaders, saying that she need them to be at the cave where her dragons are in, half an hour, and that she will meet them there.

She picked Bryan up after she sent the message, before bringing him outside. She walked up to Phantom, who was looking at the fire dragon slayer in concern, as Bri spoke to him.

''Bring us back home, he'll be staying with the other dragons for now.'' Phantom nodded before getting closer to the ground so that she can get Bryan and herself on easier.

Once she got on, Phantom flew into the air after she confirmed that she was on and that neither Bryan or herself would fall off. And while they flew, they were unaware of the two figures glaring at the dragon.

Not liking the fact that their half-brother was being taken somewhere.

Remember to always try and have a good day/night. Bye wolf pups!!
