"And that is a way of getting alcohol poisoning." Four states as he watched me down three shots of tequila straight and a cup of jungle juice. I grimace at the burning sensation, almost gagging at the lingering taste of the tequila.

We only just arrived and I've been drinking like no tomorrow. It wasn't everyday that I get to do this, and I'd pretty much prefer going to a party hosted by someone I know than one of the parties my brother attends to.

I probably shouldn't be mixing my drinks, I knew I was in too deep and I was probably going to be drunk off my ass. I guess I'm not getting what I wanted tonight which what I wanted was to not suffer the consequences of my actions tomorrow morning. God, please let this hang over not be as bad.

"Look you should probably—" he stops himself as a guy comes up to us, this one has a beard and his shirt undone to reveal a torso full of tattoos. Four pulls away from me almost instantly that I almost stumble back. "What are you doing here?" He asks.

I look down to his arms to see him carrying a pack of beers and a cigarette in his free hand. He puts it up to his lips before blowing away the smoke. "Same as you, Four." He shrugs with a small smirk. "How's the—"

"Not here." Four says making the guy look to me.

He smiles. "I'm going to borrow him for a second. You don't mind, do you?"

"Not at all." I give him a forced smile and go back to serve myself some more jungle juice.

"Stop drinking." Four says before walking away. What he just said went in one ear and out the other as I drink what's in my cup.

"Hey, Jo." My arm is grabbed by Madi making me turn to see her, a red cup on her hand. "Where'd your man go?"

"He's not my man," I say annoyed making her snort. "And I don't know, he left with some guy."

"That was Esmer's boyfriend, Zach. To be honest, she looks more into him than he is into her." She digs inside her cup with a fork to retrieve a piece of fruit from her drink. "If anything he looks annoyed anytime she speaks. But I mean what can you expect when you're dating a high school senior girl when you're like I don't know, thirty?"

"Who wouldn't? All she does is brag about how rich she is." I say making Madi laugh. I turn to where Four and that Zach guy walked off to, seeing them both in a serious conversation by the gate. Zach says something, Four reacts by making angry hand gestures. Then he looks at me and I look away.

"Four is hot." Madi says, breaking the silence making me scoff. That's like the second time she's told me this.

"If that's your type, you're welcomed to go for it." I was not at all interested in Four or his weird name or who he was.

"Of course not, he obviously wants you."

"Or he's just horny and he thinks he can sleep with me." I retort making her roll her eyes. "How many times do I need to tell you that I don't need a boyfriend? Especially not Four."

"What's wrong with Four?" She crosses her arms leaving me dumbfounded.

"Um, for one, he's annoying."

"You are way too complicated. You need to follow in your brothers steps."

"My brother is a drug addict." I remind making her laugh.

"Not in that," She says. "I meant in dating. He doesn't get too serious, he experiments with the whole friends with benefits."

"Yeah, and I'm surprised he hasn't got any type of STD. I am not my brother." I cringe. We may share a face and a womb once before but we are definitely two complete different set of people.

"And you aren't his mother either, you're allowed to have fun." Madi grabs my arm and wiggles it. She was right. Ugh, why is that so hard for me to comprehend? "Hi." She grins at Four who is now back at my side. "I'm Madi, Josephine's best friend."

"Four." he simply says, nodding his head.

"So, Four." Please don't say anything stupid. "What's your poison?"

We both look to Four to see him stuff his hands inside his pockets before shrugging. "I'm not really much of a drinker," he admits.

"But you're a smoker?" She questions, remembering how when we first came in he had a cigarette in his lips.

"They're for quitting so there's no nicotine." He explains making her nod.

"Well, then I guess enjoy yourselves." Madi says, winking at me before walking away. I'm about to go for another drink but Four steps in front.

"What are you doing?" I question.

"Maybe slow down a bit." He says making me scoff and push him out of the way.

"She said to enjoy ourselves, I can't do that at a party without liquid courage." He sighs in annoyance before glancing back where the Zach guy was looking at us. "That's Esmer's new boyfriend. Do you know him or something?" I question.

He shakes his head. "Just acquaintances." He says making me nod. Can't Feel My Face by The Weeknd comes on next making Four groan. "I hate this song." He mumbles.

"Really? I love this song! I think I'm going to ask them to play it again when it's over." I say making him look to me with annoyance in his face. I wasn't particularly fond of this song either, but him saying that he hated the song gave me more reason to annoy him away. I took a drink from my cup as I began to dance around, waving my hands in front of his emotionless face in a way to keep mocking him.

"What do you think you're doing?" He asks, standing still with his arms crossed in front of him.

"Dancing," I say moving from side to side. I wasn't the best dancer, but if he gets embarrassed by my dancing I'd be pleased with myself. "What about you?"

"Not so much of a dancer."

"You don't drink, you don't dance." I say as I sway with the music. "Do you know what fun is?"

"No, I just rather not make an ass of myself." I laugh at this, rolling my eyes before turning to grab some more alcohol.

This seemed to be the tip of the iceberg for my semi sober self. Maybe it was the way that I chugged it or maybe it was the shots and previous alcohol I took hitting me just now, all at once.

But I felt a sudden burst of confidence as I remove my sweater making Four's eyes widen. "I feel like I've asked this twenty times today," he says watching me throw my sweater on the floor before removing my shoes and my pants. "What the hell are you doing?" I now was in my undergarments.

"I'm hot," I say fanning my face. "I'm going for a swim."

"I don't think that's such a good idea if you're drunk—" he begins but I run towards the pool, jumping in and when I come back to the surface, people follow by jumping inside the pool and laughing with each other.

I splash around in the water, thanking my sober self for not wearing any makeup. When I look to Four, he looks unamused as Zach stands beside him, he tells Four something before walking away.

"I think it's time I took you home."

I grab some water with my mouth, apparently not caring how absolutely disgusting this was and I spit at him but he was so far away that it didn't reach him. "I don't want to go home, you can leave."

"No, because if I go home without you then you're going to bitch at me for leaving you drunk and vulnerable at a party." He bends down, outstretching his hand to me to take. From the way he bends down, his shirt comes off his body and a silver paper airplane pendant comes out of his shirt. I also see the outline of tattoo's on his chest.

Something in the way he was so calm and offered to help me out of the pool made me swim towards him, allowing him to help me. Madi had given him a towel for me and when I'm outside, he wraps it around me. His curls tickle my forehead momentarily.

He collects my clothes off the floor where I carelessly left them and helps me walk towards the gate to leave.

"Come on." Four groans, unbuckling my seatbelt before helping me out of the car. From the drive to my house, I had sobered up a bit but I still felt the alcohol in me, my feet on the floor spinned.

The only thing I had wrapped around me was a towel and when the cold air hit me, I knew I was naked. "Did I drive?"

"You could barely even walk." He says as we reach my front door. He hands me the keys allowing me to unlock the door and once inside, I go towards the keypad.

"Could you turn away?" I slur making him sigh and turn as I press in the code. He helps me up the stairs and into my room. I lazily trudge over to my closet, change into some shorts and a tank top and come back out with my hair in a bun.

"That was some night." Four says as I get under the covers.

"I don't know about you, but I had fun." And I hope you got embarrassed enough to leave me alone.

"I could tell." He raises his eyebrows. "Do you need anything? Water?" He says.

I shake my head. "Why are you doing this?" I groan. Why isn't he running out? Don't speak so soon, maybe after this tomorrow you won't even see his shadow walking behind you in the halls.

"Because you're drunk?" He says matter of factly.

"Stop trying to be my friend, Five."

"It's Four," he corrects. "Trust me, after this you'll want to be friends."
