30 Hindrance
Part 30 Hindrance
Arnav ran towards his car, taking Khushi in his arms. His heart bled, seeing her bleeding with many scratches. He was furious. He knew who tried to kidnap her. Thankfully, he followed Khushi's cab unintentionally. If he had not followed her, he might have lost her forever. He started the car and took her to the hospital.
After stopping the car in the hospital premises, he picked her up in his arms and rushed inside, without waiting for the stretcher. He shouted for the doctors. The doctors ordered the hospital staff to bring the stretcher. They made her lie in it and took her to the operating theatre.
Arnav stood restlessly. His eyes were teary. He punched the wall wrathfully. He strongly suspected Dhruv of being involved in this matter. No one could have done this except him. he would have done that to stop their wedding. This was why he wanted their wedding to take place soon. This was why he wanted Dhruv to be at the hospital. He was a dangerous idiot who never cared about anyone when it was about his happiness.
After a few minutes, the doctor came out of the operating theatre. Arnav rushed to him.
"Doctor, how is Khushi?"
"Nothing is serious. She became unconscious because she was exhausted."
Arnav huffed in relief.
"She got man injuries, but no one is deep. She will be alright in a day or two."
"Could you prescribe a painkiller for her, Doctor?"
"Sure... she needs it today. Otherwise, she will not sleep tonight. You can take her home."
"No, doctor, let her be in the hospital tonight. I will take her tomorrow morning. There is no one at home to take care of her, Doctor." Arnav said. He didn't want to take her to RM because he couldn't be in her room to take care of her there. No one would restrict him if she was in the hospital... not even Khushi. Of course, she was the main one to restrict him. He would handle anyone but her.
"I see... ok, let her be here tonight. I will shift her to the special ward."
"Shift her to the separate, deluxe room, doctor."
The doctor nodded and ordered the nurse to do that.
Khushi was shifted to the deluxe room. Arnav came to the room and sat in the chair in front of her. She looked at him and averted her gaze as she expected him to scold her for not listening to his words. But Arnav had no intention of scolding her because he knew she would not have expected it. It was unexpected for him, too. He should not have been careless. Anything could have happened if he had not followed Khushi. he had to find out if Dhruv was truly behind this issue.
Khushi was surprised to see Arnav silent. She intentionally coughed. Arnav stood up and gave her a water bottle. She tried to get up, but her body ached. Arnav held her head, inserted his hand under it, and fed her water. Khushi drank it, looking at his eyes.
"The doctor will give you a painkiller. You won't feel pain then." He said.
She nodded.
"The guys who kidnapped you said anything?"
She nodded no.
"They didn't say anything. They became annoyed when you followed us. The car ran out of petrol, and they pushed me out of the car, not to get caught."
Arnav thought for a moment and removed his phone to call Aman. That was when he saw a missed call notification from Dadi. So, he called her. She attended it.
"Dadi, did you call me?"
"Yes, I called you, but your phone was out of range."
"Oh, why did you call me, Dadi?"
"I called you to ask for Khushi's phone number. She is not at home. I don't know where she went. Hariprakash said she went out long ago..."
"She is in the hospital..."
"Hospital? For what?"
"She was kidnapped when she went to a salon that was on the way to AR. I coincidentally saw that and chased the car. They pushed her out of the car and escaped. She is injured. I brought her to the hospital and admitted her."
"Oh, my God!" Dadi was shocked.
Arnav heard,
"What happened, Amma?"
Dadi told him what happened.
"whaaat? Arnav heard a few more voices.
"Dadi, where are you?"
"In the hospital. I came to see Dhruv with Sudhakar."
Arnav closed his eyes in irritation. He didn't want anyone to know about it, but he told Dadi, unaware that she was in the hospital.
"Which hospital is she in?"
"RJ Hospital..."
"Shall I come there?"
"No need, Dadi. It's out skirt Delhi. We will come home tomorrow morning."
"Ok..." Dadi sighed and disconnected the call.
"It should not have happened when her wedding fixed with Arnav."
"It seems bad omen. It happened after her wedding fixed. Arnav fixed his wedding without consulting anyone. Ask him not to hurry. We will fix his wedding, after consulting our astrologer." Anjana said.
"Yes, Papa. It's not good to hurry in this matter because marriage is a long term commitment. They should live long with no problem. Ask Arnav not to hurry." Anjali said.
Sudhakar looked at Dadi who was in a deep thought. She was also thinking the same. After all, she was an old generation woman and astrology freak.
"Talk to Arnav, Maji." Sudharkar requested.
Dadi nodded affirmatively.
"Call him and tell him, dadi." Anjali said.
Dadi called Arnav.
In the meantime,
"I will get you something to eat. You have to take medicine." Arnav told Khushi.
She nodded slightly. He went to the hospital canteen and brought her dinner. Though the doctor didn't ask him about any food restrictions, he brought her bread and milk as he didn't want her to have anything heavy.
That was when his phone rang. He saw Dadi's number, which alerted him. he attended the call.
"Haan Dadi..."
"Arnav, listen to me calmly. Don't get angry."
Arnav stopped walking. Why did Dadi talk with the prelude?
"So, you are going to make me angry..."
"Arnav, relax... whatever WE do for your betterment."
The word "WE" told Arnav everything clearly.
"What do you want to tell me, Dad?"
"This is a bad omen. There are only three days for your wedding. At this time, Khushi is facing such a horrible phase, which is not good. If something like that happened, we should consider the wedding date..."
Arnav was annoyed. He expected something like that.
"Oh, the problem is my wedding date?"
"Yes..."
"But nothing had happened to Khushi. I saved her from the danger. Why don't you think of it as a good sign? Why shouldn't you think, I will always protect her?"
Dadi was struck.
"Arnav, don't talk chop-logical."
Anjana snatched the phone and turned the speaker on.
"Dadi, I'm talking logic. You are the one who is chop-logical here."
"Arnav, we are saying this for your betterment. Change the wedding date." Anjana said.
Arnav was stuck for a moment, hearing Anjana's voice.
"Ok, if the date is what problem here, we will get married tomorrow itself. What say?"
"Arnav... what's this? Why are you talking like this?" Dadi asked.
"Then, what do you want me to do, Dadi? I fixed my marriage. I saved Khushi from the danger. Nothing had happened to her. Then, what's the problem? Even if any problem occurs, I will face it."
"I know he won't obey us. He earns his own bread. He didn't have to listen to us..." Anjana said.
Arnav disconnected the call. Anjana again tried his number, but Arnav didn't answer as he had put his phone on silent mode.
Dhruv was satisfied. However, his family members would not let Arnav and Khushi's wedding happen. He wanted their wedding to be postponed. Then, he would have the opportunity to stop it permanently. He needed some time because he could do nothing, laying on the hospital bed. As his mother interfered in this matter, Arnav won't dare make any step regarding because Anjana would not leave this issue if he didn't obey her. He smiled inwardly.
To be continued...
