Barcode's life is a tragic comedy, and he had always had a wish, he wished that one day, the trail of tragedy could end.

He first met Jeff at a small bar in a dark, dirty alley. It was a cold night, Barcode wanted nothing but a place to keep himself warm. He was dead drunk and tears started welling up in his eyes, Jeff was crying too. He could not remember how those two found each other and stayed together for the night. Barcode bursted out a laugh, after all, everyone was complicated when they got drunk.

Our past, it would linger in our mind no matter how hard we tried to get rid of it. It would follow us for the rest of our lives to remind us of our old mistakes. Barcode always kept it in his mind, although sometimes he wanted to leave everything behind. Every time he walked across the dark alley, he wished he could take the memories out, throw them away and let darkness consume them all forever. He wished he had never met Jeff. Because as they collided, they would hurt each other once again.

Barcode and his ex-boyfriend broke up a long time ago. That bastard left Barcode behind with all the mess he created. He ended it all, took everything Barcode had and throw it into the trash. Tears started running down on the young man's face again. Life had been too harsh for him, why did he have to encounter even more challenges?

Would he ever find happiness or the notorious nothingness was the only place that accepted his dying fun. Barcode was like an outcast, a failure of humanity. He loved his ex so much yet he was still heartbroken in the end. Was everyone that merciless? If so, what was even the point of existing in this world?

Jeff stayed with Barcode ever since, they went through the darkest moments together. Barcode grew his feelings for the man he had always seen as a brother. Jeff knew about it, and so did the younger one. In the end, they both decided to keep their mouth shut, it would be better to stay as friends than to fall in love then fall apart later. Deep inside Barcode's heart, his love for the elder was ambiguous. Jeff was the only one he had, their relationship was so fragile that it would collapse immediately if someone got between them. Everything would be destroyed, so would his dreams, and him, also.

Barcode treasured their relationship like a mother cherishing the child that she had always been wishing for. It was a peaceful dream, a dream that would vanish and never return the moment he woke up.

He craved for love, craved for a person that could stay with him and bless him with happy memories he had never got the chance to experience before. His desire for love was like human's desire for the forbidden fruit. Unfortunately, the moment he thought he had owned the thing he wished for, it turned out to be a rotten apple that could not be saved.

He never thought he would be able to have a taste of the forbidden fruit, even if...it was right next to him.

Jeff, he knew that he was the forbidden fruit himself. He was like a piece of limited designer clothing that everyone wished for, but Barcode, he was just the lowly. They had nothing in common, then why did they keep coming for each other?

How ridiculous, no matter how hard they tried to leave each other, they would always end up together.

Every time they thought their relationship had ended, another incident took place and brought they back. Barcode attempted to run far far away just to woke up and found himself at the starting point again. Only God knew how to escape that endless maze, but unfortunately, he never seemed to have the intention of saving the young man.

Their relationship was ambiguous, they acted like lovers, best friends or sometimes they were nothing but strangers to each other.

Barcode wished that he could leave Jeff, but it seemed like he could not . He hesitated, as once their relationship had ended, he would have nowhere to stay.
