44 Subway
Part 44 Subway
Arnav was thunderstruck to see a door behind Khushi's photo. He was not sure if Khushi knew about it or not. He pushed the door slowly, but it was unshakable. Khushi talked about the photo a lot and became emotional as well. Then why didn't she tell him about the door? Didn't she know about it? If she didn't know about it, it should have been recently created, after her parents' demise. Varna did not think Khushi's parents would have hidden the truth from her if her parent had known about it.
Arnav heard the mild sound of her anklet. He kept the photo straight and thought about it. She didn't want her to know if it had been created recently. If she didn't know about it, Vishwesh Sharma's hand would have been behind the door... Who knew, he himself had been behind it!
Arnav immediately walked away from the door. He didn't know what was behind it. He didn't want their talks to be heard.
Khushi got a cup of coffee for himself and gave it to him. He smiled at Khushi, took the cup and sipped it.
"Khushi, does this palace have any secret paths or subways in it?"
"Mmm... No... "
"Are you sure?"
"Of course... If it has one, my father would have told me about it..."
"From when this photo is here?"
"From the day my parents met with an accident"
"You said, before this photo, there was another photo here. Was that the same size?"
"No... This is an oriented portrait shape... But the old one was a landscape..."
"I see..."
"Why are you asking?"
"I doubt Vishvesh Sharma may try to get into this palace through the secret path, or a subway... Just like a TROY story..." Arnav chuckled, trying to show himself casual. But his concentration was entirely behind the door, cautiously.
"No way... There is no subway in this palace."
"How is it possible, Khushi? This is a palace... Your grandfather ruled it, maintaining his pride and flaunting it like a king. That means he would not have trusted anyone. Or, he might have expected someone to attack him. Then, how would he not have had a subway or a secret path in this palace?"
Khushi became thoughtful. However, she squeezed her mind, but she didn't get anything.
"No, Arnie... Nothing is like that here. So, you don't need to worry. No Troy sequence will happen here. The more I know, I don't think this palace has any Subway or secret path."
Arnav became thoughtful.
"You know how much I wanted to discuss with you about those interesting stories?"
He smiled.
"I told about it to Seema too..."
"Whaat? Did you tell Seema about it? But why?"
"She said I didn't have an interest in you. I just wanted to marry you only because our parents wanted it to happen. That's why I told her what I would like to do with you after our marriage."
"You loved me... Married to me... Yet, I didn't know what you would like to do with me after our marriage, but the one who you don't like knows about it... This is ridiculous..."
"I just said that to make Seema trust how much I was interested in you and our marriage."
"But, you said anything to me yet..."
"Did we get time? We got married, and you brought me here right away. I didn't even enjoy our wedding event to the fullest..."
"We will enjoy our life to the fullest. Don't worry..."
"Ok...But what made you doubt that this palace may have a subway or a Secret path?"
"I don't doubt but saw something..." he said, observing her facial expression.
As he expected, her facial expression changed into a horrified one. She became nervous.
"What do you mean, saw something? What did you see?"
Arnav went to the photo and removed it from the wall. Revealing the door, he showed it to Khushi. She was shocked to the core when she saw the door behind her photo. She looked at him, flabbergasted.
"Arnie... I don't know about this. I really don't know."
"Ok, relax..."
"No, Arnie, I'm damn sure that this palace has no secret doors. My father would have told me if there was something like this. It must be recently created..."
"After your parents' demise, right?"
"No, after I left this place.. Until I arrived, they hadn't done anything. I'm sure about it. They should have crested it after I left this place."
"That means they would have expected some opposition from you..."
"Or, they might have done this to keep them ready to face anything from my side..."
"What do you think? Shall we break the door?"
"Nooo... We don't know what's there. What if there were many people? They might have had weapons too." She said fearfully.
"What's the other side of the door?"
"It's a store room..."
"Where is its entrance?"
That was when something struck in Khushi's mind.
"Yeah, it was there next to this room entrance, but it was not there..."
"Means, did they modify it too?"
"I think, yes... They should have made a subway to my parents' room to enter the palace.
"Exactly, we should do something about it immediately."
Khushi nodded yes.
"Let's go..."
She nodded and walked with him.
"Thank God, you noticed it. Otherwise, don't know what would have happened." She said, following him.
They came downstairs. Khushi looked at Arnav to know what he would do. Arnav saw Bheem and gestured for him to go to him. Bheem rushed to him.
"Yes, sir?"
"Are all the people here with us reliable?"
"Of course, sir. Vishvesh evicted them only because he could not turn them against Khushi madam."
"Mmm... Gather everyone... Without making noise... Quick..."
Bheem nodded and started doing what Arnav said. All of them gathered in the main hall. Arvind and Arnav's friends also came to find out what the matter was.
Arnav called Maria, Bheem and Nethaji. They came to him.
"I can't shout because this must be confidential."
The trio looked at one another, not understanding anything.
"I found a door in Khushi's parents' room."
"Door? What door are you talking about, Sir?"
"Yes, it's a secret door, behind Khushi's photograph. I unintentionally moved it slightly. That was when the door revealed itself.. Khushi says she didn't know about it. That means Vishwish Sharma would have created it after Khushi left this place. He should have made it with some intention. Though we don't know the purpose, we should be careful because we can't ignore it. We don't know what else he had changed in this palace. That's why I don't want to talk loudly.
What's your opinion about it? Shall we wait until he attacks us?"
"No, sir..." immediately came from the trio.
"Why?"
"If we give him time to prepare himself, he will become strong. He will attack us well prepared. We don't know his strength. So we should not give him a chance to attack us. We should not give him time to prepare himself." Said Nethaji. Bheem and Maria nodded affirmatively.
"What do you guys want us to do?" Arnav asked.
"We should break the door and enter, Sir," Bheem said.
"Don't you think it's a risk?" Arnav questioned.
"Undoubtedly, it's a risk, but we have to take risks, sir, because if he attacks us, the destruction will be so high from our side. If we want to save our source, the first hit must be ours, sir."
"Ok, first, let our troop know the issue. Determine if they are ready. Do it without making noise."
"Yes, sir..."
They went to the troop and split it into three parts. Three of them took the responsibility for each split and conveyed the problem to them.
Surprisingly, all of them wanted to attack Vishvesh's troop before they did that. The troop leaders told Arnav that. He was dumbfounded. He could not believe people could be unimaginably brave and loyal. He felt proud not only of them but also of Khushi's father, who earned good like them.
"Ok, we will attack them... But how? We have no weapons, but Vishvesh would definitely have."
"Sir, who said we don't have weapons?" Nethaji asked.
Arnav frowned. What did he mean?
"I didn't get you. Do you mean you have weapons?"
"Each of us has a gun, si," Bheem said.
Arnav was dumbfounded.
"Is it? Do you guys really have guns?"
"Yes, sir. Shashi sir got us guns with a license."
"My goodness... Why didn't you tell me about it, Bheem?"
"Khushi madam didn't want me to use it, sir. She didn't want me to get into trouble. So, she got my promise. That's why I didn't bring it to Dehradun. As I didn't have it in my hands, what's the point in telling you about it?"
Arnav sighed and nodded his head from left to right.
"Shall we start the attack, sir?" Nethaji asked.
Khushi became nervous. It was no less than a war. Anything could happen to anyone. She didn't know how many of them would be alive after this.
"Yeah... Let's go..." Arnav said.
"Sorry, sir. We can't let you come with us. We will take care of Vishvesh Sharma and also this operation. You please be with Khushi madam." Maria said.
"What are you talking about, Maria? How could I let you go?"
"You have to do it, sir. This is our duty. We would have done that long ago if Vishvesh Sharma had not evicted us from this place. It's our responsibility to restore what we have lost." Bheem said firmly.
"But..."
Cutting him off, Nethaji said,
"Excuse us, sir, we can't take you with us. You are our madam's husband. Protecting you is our duty. After all, you are a professor. You can't stand Vishvesh Sharma..."
Arnav looked at Bheem and Maria as if to say, " Can't I? After all, they witnessed how he beat them black and blue.
"Of course, we knew you would stand with Vishvesh Sharma. Yet, we don't want to risk your life, sir. This is about our madam's life. We want her to be happy. We are willing to put our lives at risk for her happiness. If you accompany us and something happens to you, our lives will not have value, sir. We all will die if we can't save you." Bheem said.
"What the... What are you talking about?"
"Yes, sir... Please stay with Madam. Leave Vishvesh Sharma to us..."
Arnav looked at Khushi. She blinked her eyes. Arnav sighed.
"Take care of yourselves."
"Don't bother about us and sleep well, sir..." Said Nethaji.
The troop was ready for the attack. They marched to Khushi's parents' room with their guns.
"Five of you stay here with Madam and Sir. Look after them."
"We will take care of them. Come with success." Maria said.
The troop headed to Khushi's parents' room. They saw Khushi's big photograph being kept next to the door. Two men took it out and kept it safe.
Bheem and Nethaji looked at each other and nodded.
"Shoot..." They ordered.
A few men came forward and shot the door at a time, and the door was broken into pieces. Without wasting a single minute, they entered. It was a tunnel-like pathway that led them behind the palace. All of them moved, keeping their senses alert.
They saw a sudden light appear. All of them stood, sticking to the wall, ready to attack them. Vishvesh Sharma led a few men who looked exactly like goons. His son Nithesh walked next to him. As they didn't expect, the troops started shooting them. Vishvesh Sharma's men ran scattering as they didn't expect the sudden attack. Vishvesh Sharma was shocked to the core because he had no idea how Khushi's troop had discovered the subway. He became furious as his plan flopped.
"Nithesh, go to the palace and bring Khushi, or else, kill her..." Vishvesh shouted.
Nithesh nodded and ran, tackling the men.
To be continued...
