Chapter 6: Ms. Wave's Sorrow
It was Monday – the official opening ceremony of another exhausting week.
Standing alone in the teachers' office, Ms. Wave sighed deeply, wondering how her life had ended up like this.
On paper, she should have been thriving.
After all, she was the homeroom teacher of Rumi and Mira's class – the best class in the school.
Teaching them was considered an honor. A dream assignment. Something teachers bragged about at staff meetings.
Rumi, in particular, was the perfect student.
Polite. Hard-working. Athletic. Intelligent. The kind of child parents prayed for and teachers used as examples.
This was the same case for Mira.
She was also brilliant – sharp, focused, and talented.
Her only flaw was her... extremely poor attitude toward the Saja boys.
Especially the twins – Abby and Romance.
Toward everyone else, she was a model student.
Compared to the daily disasters of Mr. Gwi-ma's class, Ms. Wave's classroom was practically heaven.
So why was she miserable?
Because heaven had two very specific problems.
Problem One: Rumi and Her easily range baited personality
Rumi's only weakness – aside from being too smart – was that she was incredibly easy to provoke.
Take today, for example.
She and Jinu had an argument.
Ms. Wave didn't know why. She never did.
But during break time, she spotted Rumi opening a blue envelope.
Ah, Ms. Wave thought. That must be Jinu's apology letter.
Then –
"Jinu? Ji...Jinu? Uoh?! Meet you? I'm not goin' to meet you!? Who do you think ...' –
Rumi's voice echoed through the corridor.
Suddenly – there was a rustle.
"WOAH!!!"
A black bird shot past Ms. Wave's face.
In the same split second, she saw a small animal dash by.
It looked like a cat.
...But cats were not supposed to be blue.
Before Ms. Wave's brain could process this, Rumi – like a professional sprinter – took off after them at lightning speed.
Ms. Wave stood frozen.
...
Later, she decided not to think about it.
Students running in corridors? Normal.
Pets on campus? Allowed – with permission.
Paperwork for the animals? Already signed.
Everything was technically legal.
She would've forgotten about it entirely –
If not for the fight.
The "Apology" Incident
Apparently, when Rumi arrived to meet Jinu, she attacked him immediately.
Luckily, thanks to Jinu's advanced dodging skills – developed through years of surviving the Saja household and Rumi herself – he managed to:
• Deliver his apology letter
• Use an unused mannequin as a decoy
• Stay unharmed
• And only suffer extreme exhaustion from nonstop leaning, jumping and running
Unfortunately, KPDH was a top-tier school, and any physical conflict – no matter how ridiculous – meant detention.
Rumi and Jinu were released quickly, of course.
They were the brightest students in their grade.
But Ms. Wave?
She was left with extra paperwork, formal apologies to other teachers, and a headache that lasted the entire week.
And this wasn't the first time.
Nor, tragically, would it be the last.
Problem Two: Mira's Temper
The second reason for Ms. Wave's depression was Mira.
A few days earlier...
Some girls from another class had locked Mira inside a bathroom stall.
Bullying at KPDH was rare – but not nonexistent.
When it happened, it usually came from the worst classes – the ones filled with violent or unqualified students.
Most cases were stopped immediately.
Others were caught before any real damage was done.
That was how KPDH maintained its reputation as the best school for gifted students across the city.
Back to the incident.
The bullies turned out to be Abby and Romance fan girls.
They hated the fact that the twins followed Mira everywhere.
'And that brat decided to glare and punch at them' – one of them confessed afterwards. They also disliked Mira's cold, distant attitude.
What they forgot was one important thing:
To enter Mira's class (also Rumi's), you had to be exceptionally gifted.
And Mira's specialty was martial arts.
Ever since Celine became her guardian, she had recognized Mira's physical talent and hired top instructors.
Unlike Rumi – who dominated academics – Mira quickly rose to fame in national martial arts competitions.
So when being locked inside the stall –
Mira simply kicked the door down.
Problem solved.
The story ended in the principal's office:
The bullies were expelled.
Life returned to normal.
Why Ms. Wave Was Tired of Everything
Mira's cold attitude made her an easy target.
She scared bullies off instead of ignoring them.
That part wasn't the problem.
The real problem was that when Mira got angry, the culprit for range –
usually Abby, Romance, or occasionally Jinu (for existing) –
ended up in the school medical room.
And the surrounding area?
Destroyed.
Thankfully, it was always repaired quickly.
By Celine.
With money.
Still...
For a young, talented teacher like Ms. Wave, handling the brightest students with the strangest personalities was still exhausting.
She sank into her chair.
'I wonder how Mr. Gwi-ma survives teaching that chaos...'
...Then she paused.
'Actually,' – she thought, 'I already feel bad for him'.

Ms. Wave full name is Moana Wave
I've got nothing more to say.
