11 Khushi's Answer
Part 11 Khushi's answer...
Arnav read the content of the file word by word. He sighed keeping it aside. There is no single black mark in the file. Is she that good? Does he deserve a good girl like Khushi? He is full of flaws whereas she is a clean slate. How does he suit that girl? It's not a game but a life. She is going to be with him for a lifetime. What if she thinks differently in the future? What if her taste changes? What if she started seeing the mistakes in him? He couldn't conclude.
At the same time, if an understanding girl like Khushi doesn't suit him then who will suit? At this small age, she thinks positively then why would she think negatively in the future. Arnav's head was rotating with Khushi Gupta's thought.

After finishing dinner, Shashi went to his room. As he didn't expect, Garima asked him,
"Why don't you talk anything about Khushi's marriage? Has not Arnav said YES yet?" she asked, guessing right.
At that time, Khushi crossed their room to go to the kitchen to take water. She stopped, listening to her mother's words wondering.
"There was a big Hungama held in RM today," Shashi said.
"What's that? Did he fight with his parents about marriage?"
"No... Virat came to RM. He wants to get Arnav married to Sheetal..."
Khushi stood silently.
"Oh god... again that family?"
"But, Arnav shouted at them and said strictly that he doesn't want their relationship."
"Thank God..."
"It seems you are fine with this marriage...?" Shashi asked.
"It's because of Khushi... she is fine with this marriage. I understood that when she convinced me."
"Did she?"
Garima nodded yes.
"I think, she is sympathizing with Arnav. She would have started pitying Arnav from the time he killed his wife"
"Maybe..."
"By God's grace, she has to be happy. I hope Arnav will make her happy" She said worriedly.
"Don't worry Garima... Today I saw how Arnav shouted at Virat but he doesn't behave with me even after knowing about our proposal."
Garima nodded ok. Khushi left the place silently.
She came to her room with a water jug, thinking about Virat and Sheetal. She saw her phone lightening. She checked her phone and there is a missed call from a new number. She ignored it as it was from an unknown number. But her phone rang with the same number again and she attended it.
"Hello..."
"Is this Khushi Gupta?"
"Yeah..."
"I pity you because the elders had made you a scapegoat."
Khushi was silent.
"How do you agree to marry a murderer? Do you know the real issue? Do you know what really happened between Arnav and Yasodha four years ago?"
"What?"
"It's not yasodha who had illegal affaire but Arnav. When Yasodha got to know about it... he killed her. He turned the table against Yasodha and spoilt her name..."
"Really?"
"Yes..."
"How do you know? Who are you?"
"I'm Yasodha's friend. She often told me that he behaves wired... comes home late... and... she found a condom in his pocket one day."
"Oh, God..."
"Haan... please don't fall in the trap..."
"Can I ask you something?"
"Anything..."
"Is there any problem between you and Sheetal?"
There was a silence on the other side for a while.
"No... nothing is like that..."
"Doesn't Sheetal know about her Jeejaji?"
"I... I...didn't ...get you...."
"you don't know me... I'm a complete stranger to you yet you are warning me about Arnav and asking me to give-up on this marriage...why didn't you warn Sheetal who wants to marry a man who killed her sister and put blame on her? Why? Doesn't she know about Arnav? Or Yasodha told about her husband's real face only to you?"
"Yes... you are right... Yasodha never said anything about Arnav to her father and sister because she loved Arnav very much. She uses the word ARNAJI at least ten times in a minute..."
"Oh... whatever you told me about Arnav... please tell Sheetal the same. Poor woman she is dreaming to marry Arnav."
There was a silence on the other side.
"I heard she teased her sister a lot. She asked her sister too share her husband... I don't think Yasodha would not have told about Arnav as they were very close. I heard, today, she went to RM with her father and asked Arnav to marry her. If he is wrong, why she wants to marry him?"
"I told you Yasodha didn't say anything to them because she didn't want to make them worried."
"Then you tell Sheetal... tell her the truth... stop her from marrying Arnav. I know you will tell them. If you worrying for a stranger like me then you will definitely tell them... right?"
"Haannn...." The other side stammered.
"Thank you for your concern. By the way... whatever it is... I will definitely marry Arnav. Bye..."
Khushi disconnected the call.
On the other side, Sheetal fumed in anger. Her first step to make Khushi confused didn't work. She has to find another way to do it.
Khushi noted down the number and checked the number in TRUE CALLER. Undoubtedly Sheetal's name flashed. Khushi smirked.
"I think she underestimated me... she didn't even think of calling me from some other number..." she thought inwardly.
Khushi recalled whatever Sheetal said and understood That Sheetal is keen to marry Arnav. Let's see, it's all Arnav's decision. She slept with Arnav's thought.
The next morning
Ratna came to Arnav's room. He was standing at the French door and looking at pool water all lost. He turned his head towards Ratna only when she touched his shoulder.
"Coffee..." She extended the cup.
Taking it from her, he sipped.
"I need to talk to you Chotte..."
Arnav looked at her raising his eyelashes while drinking the coffee.
"We are happy with your declaration. Shashi Bhai is delighted that you agreed to marry Khushi."
"Mom... I just..."
"Just...? What just, Chotte? Are you going to say you just said that to shut Virat bhai's mouth?"
Arnav gulped down.
"Even though you said that to shut Virat's mouth I don't mind. I mind only your words said in front of Shashi Bhai. What he would have thought? He would have been told Khushi about it. How could you break the small girl's heart...?"
"That's what I'm saying... how could I marry a small girl?"
"Does it even matter?"
"Doesn't it?"
"No... I and your father have eleven years difference... your Nana and Nani had eighteen years difference..."
Cutting her,
"It's past..."
"Yes, Chotte, you too come out of your past because you have a future... present is favoring you... don't mess it up, Chotte."
Arnav turned opposite to her and closed his eyes.
"Virat Bhai and Sheetal need this marriage to happen. They may create a problem...(she paused for a while) Are you ready to marry Sheetal?"
Arnav turned to face Ratna.
"Mom, please don't talk rubbish..."
"Then, you talk right Chotte...tell me what we should do..."
"What do you want me to say, Mom?"
"Tell YES to the marriage..."
"I'm not in the position to say that, Mom..."
"Don't you mind about us, Chotte?"
She asked, clutching his shoulders.
"I do... except this one..."
"What will you do if I arrange for your marriage?"
"Mom, you know me..."
"Then you too get to know me... if you don't agree to the marriage, then I will leave this house forever..."
"What the hell are you talking mom?" he gritted his teeth.
"Why should I be here when my words have no respect?"
Arnav rolled his eyes, tightening his jaws.
"Mom, try to understand me..."
Taking his hand, she kept it on her head.
"Tell me, don't you like Khushi...?"
Arnav removed his hand from her head and turned again.
"Why are you cheating yourself Chotte?"
"Mom... please... it doesn't matter whether I like her not..."
"She also likes you Chotte... you can meet her personally if you want to ask her anything..."
Arnav didn't say he already had done that.
"I strongly believe that Khushi is destined for you. Or else, why would you say, you are going to marry Khushi, in front of Shashi bhai..."
Arnav didn't oppose her. He himself didn't know why he said that. He might have avoided Virat without telling that too, yet he told.
"We are going to go to Gupta House for further talks today evening."
"Mom..."
"Shut up... this is final... if you really respect me, then marry Khushi..."
She left the room. Arnav sat on the bed. He didn't know what to do. Neither he could say yes to the marriage nor could he stop his mother.
To be continued...
