Part 8 Dilemma Mind

Arnav didn't have the mood to go to AR but he couldn't be at home because he doesn't want Ratna to suspect him. If she got to know about his uncertain mind, she will make him marry Khushi Gupta by hook or by crook. Taking his coat, he came downstairs. As he didn't find Ratna in the living room, he came to the kitchen, searching for her. She was cooking lunch.

"Chotte, do you want anything?"

"I'm going to the office, Mom." He said plainly.

"Ok... I will send your lunch with HP"

Arnav nodded ok and left RM.

Ratna was happy that he didn't stop the marriage. She thought he will do a big Hungama in Gupta's house. She called Aman and said that Arnav is coming to AR. Aman became alert.

AR

Arnav walked in. Aman read Arnav's face and confusion was visible on his face. Aman went to his cabin and continued his work not wanting to touch the lion's wrong nerve.

Arnav also tried to do something. But his concentration didn't go on the work. A soft yet firm girl's voice was echoing in his ears. He couldn't believe that there is an unknown person, who could argue for him with her beloved ones. And he doesn't even know anything about the girl. The cherry on the cake, she is ready to marry him. Arnav leaned on the chair, closing his eyes.

He opened his eyes, hearing the phone ring. He attended the call. In no time his blood boiled hearing Sheetal's voice.

"Have you forgotten me completely, Arnav? How could you do this? We are your people...please don't forget that... and Yaso is your wife no matter what..." Though she spoke, pleadingly her stances poured oil into the fire which is already burning to the sky-high.

"Shut up... she is not my wife... she is a b****. I never accept her as my wife. And I don't need your bloody relationship..." fire sparkled in his tone.

He disconnected the call furiously. Sheetal is a woman of torture. He didn't forget, how she always asked Yasodha teasingly, "I'm GOING TO SHARE YOUR HUSBAND" but Yasodha never showed possessiveness. Arnav didn't take it seriously then. Being very close sisters, this type of teasing is normal, he supposed. But, now, he couldn't take it easy. Why is Sheetal remembering the bitter past? Why the hell nature is generating such creatures... he panted hard. Can't people let him come out of the bitterness? Suddenly he remembered something and his face became soft.

"HE TASTED A BITTER FRUIT. HE WILL NEVER MAKE ME TASTE IT."

Of course, those are Khushi's words.

How soothing her words are... Any man will be peaceful in his life if he has an understanding partner like her. Doesn't he? Arnav got an alert. He sensed that his mind is slipping. He was hell confused, just by hearing her words. He didn't even see her. What would she look like? Would she be beautiful from the outside too? Damn... why does he want to see her? What if she is not beautiful? Could he find such a girl with a beautiful heart? Arnav didn't mind her outlook as he already liked her inner beauty.

Khushi came to the kitchen and circled Garima's neck from behind. Without reacting to it, Garima stood, looking at the milk which is boiling on the stove.

"Amma, please don't be moody and make me feel guilty, Amma." she pleaded.

"Who cares about me? What if I'm moody? Who cares?" Garima asked.

"Don't say like that, Amma... please... You know me..."

Garima turned towards Khushi.

"No Khushi... I don't know you... you became a big girl. You have started taking decisions on your own..."

Taking Garima's hand, Khushi kept it on her cheek.

"I was, I'm, I will be always your little daughter, Amma. I have taken this decision because I feel it will be a good decision..."

"I don't think so, Khushi. It feels like we are pushing you into the drained well."

"You are not wrong, Amma. Arnav is somewhat drained well... let me dig deeper... I will find water for sure, Amma. Didn't you know how he was four years ago? You had been talking about him for the whole day after coming from his marriage. Arnav is looking handsome... He smiles like this ... he talks like that... he respects everyone... he teases his friends...didn't you? That's what real him, Amma."

"But why are you so fond of him, Khushi?"

"Didn't I say, the man who faced betrayal will never let anyone face it again because he knows the pain?"

Garima sighed.

"You are going to repent for not agreeing to the marriage at first, mark my words..." Khushi chuckled so did Garima.

Khushi hugged her emotionally.

"I'm sorry, Amma. I hurt you..."

"I don't mind about it, Khushi. I don't want you to get hurt... that's all, I want."

"I won't get hurt... believe me..."

Garima nodded yes.

"Are you fine with this marriage?" Khushi asked tilting her head.

Garima nodded yes.

"Only because you are fine with that... But, don't forget one thing..."

"What?"

"We are here for you. You don't have to tolerate him if he does anything madly... come back to me... I will be there for you... Don't tie yourself in the useless sentiments... just because you are married, it's not necessary to get ill-treated or disrespected. OK?"

Khushi smiled at her.

"This is what my Amma... if all the parents give this assurance to their daughters; girls who get mad husband will never struggle with him for whole life..." She kissed Garima's cheek.

They saw NK standing at the entrance of the kitchen. Khushi smiled at him.

"It seems you got the first wicket?" he asked sarcastically.

"Are you still angry with me?"

"I'm not angry... I can never be angry with you. But I'm damn upset..."

"You will be alright soon...seeing your sister happy in her in-laws."

NK nodded NO sighing and left the place. He knew Khushi will take HIS WICKET also if he stays there for a few more minutes.

Evening

Arnav came back to RM while loosening his tie. Sitting on the recliner, he removed his shoes. His hands were working, no doubt. But his eyes were looking at the floor blankly. His mind was roaming somewhere... maybe around Gupta House. He leaned on the recliner closing his eyes.

He didn't even remember Sheetal's abnormal call.

Ratna came to Arnav's room with coffee and saw him leaning on the recliner.

"Chotte..."

Arnav opened his eyes. Ratna extended the coffee cup to him. Taking it from her, he sipped not looking at her. And he knew Ratna was looking at him firmly.

"If you don't want to get married to Khushi, please tell Shashi bhai your decision." She said in a low tone.

Arnav stopped sipping the coffee and looked somewhere but Ratna.

"We should not let him be in hope... poor man... he has already got his daughter's approval it seems," she said sadly.

He couldn't say IT'S NOT JUST AN APPROVAL BUT MORE THAN THAT. Arnav kept the cup on the tea table.

"It feels awkward to tell Shashi Bhai that we are not interested in the marriage because he gave us hope. Dad is already sad knowing your disinterest. He is not ready to break Shashi Bhai's heart. I too just can't make him disappointed. I know you don't have such awkwardness. So, please do it by yourself... for me..." Ratna pleaded.

Arnav looked at her.

"If you also feel a little uncomfortable to tell telling the vision to his face, you can talk to him on the phone. Or message him on Whatsapp."

"I don't have his number." He said barely.

"I will send you." Ratna left the room.

Arnav sighed. What bloody situation is this? He doesn't know about the girl... he doesn't know what she looks like... he doesn't know whether she is fair or brown... short or tall... fat or thin...he doesn't know any damn single thing about her... but her words are echoing in his mind nonstop. And his heart is not fully ready to say NO. Neither can he say he is ready to get married nor he could say he doesn't want to. Because, somewhere in his mind, Arnav knew he could never get such an understanding girl in his life. He sighed.

No... he can't be selfish. She may have dreams about her future. It will get ruined if he marries the girl. His frustrated mindset will not give her a peaceful life. A good girl like her deserves a good partner. Before he gets weaker, he wants to talk to Shashi. No, he could not say it to his face. Poor man, he is a real friend of his father. A message will be a better solution.

His mobile beeped with Ratna's message. She sent Shashi's number to him. After saving it, he searched for his number on Whatsapp. He decided what to type.

"I'm sorry uncle... I'm not ready to get married. Find a good man for your daughter."

He was about to start typing, and his finger stopped, seeing his profile pic. It was Shashi's family photo. He viewed the pic and his breath ditched. He had already met three out of four in that pic...except ONE. She must be Khushi...Shashi's uncle's daughter...

Is Shashi's uncle's daughter this beautiful? How a beautiful girl could be so wiser and too broadminded, without having any haughtiness? NK is right. She has a choice yet she is ready to marry him and she gave a reason for her decision too. He had been looking at her unconsciously. Her flawless smile made him forget his PAST for a while. Doesn't she look so young? How does she have the guts to marry a murderer? He couldn't conclude and he threw the mobile on the bet annoyingly, without typing anything.

First, meet

After two days

It was already late. Aman was still working in AR, noting down the important points for the next deal. He received a call on his mobile and he attended it.

"Mr. Aman?" a man asked.

"Yeah..." he said while noting down a point.

"What a friend you are?"
