Chapter 7: Sweater
Alexander's POV:
Yes! I'm so happy! I managed to get the contract signed! It turns out the famous CEO of HighTech company is Daniel, my helper that day. What a coincidence! I really owe him a favor. Wait, actually, it's two now.
Right now we are celebrating! It's amazing how fast all of this took! So lucky!
Third person's POV:
After two hours, Alex finally managed to leave the party! He was really tired now!
"Ugh..." He sighed and yawned tiredly. The smell of alcohol was really unpleasant!
Alex looked around. Under the influence, he could barely tell where the hell he was. He aimed at a large building ahead with bright lights and made his way in.
"A... Supermarket? Still open this late? Strange."
He wandered around, eyes gazing at the shelves and goods. Without realizing, he tripped and lost his balance. A hand caught him, just in time before he fell flat on his face.
"Hm?" Alex mumbled, eyes barely opened.
"Stupid." A calm, deep voice said, judging him from head to toe.
"MEanIe!" Alex frowned, pulling away from the man's grasp.
"What? No thank you and this? Unbelievable."
"Am I supposed to-" Alex sneezed and coughed, eyes turning redder and nose itching.
Daniel stared at Alex, a hint of warmth appeared in his eyes.
"Cold?" He softly asked.
"Hmm! Achoo!" Alex miserably replied. He looked up, feeling a bit more awake now. "D..Daniel? Is that you?"
"Yeah." He nodded. A gentle gaze landed on Alex's small body.
"I guess this'll help." He put the warm green sweater he had been hanging on his shoulder on Alex. "Wear it."
Alex looked at him, surprised. Then a small smile appeared. "Thank you."
Daniel calmly said, "No problem. Keep it if you want. Pretty warm."
Alex smiled again and pulled the sweater down. "A bit big though?"
"My size, not yours." Daniel smirked. "You're tiny, eat some more."
"R-rude!" Alex turned his face away, feeling upset.
"Just joking. Actually..." He stuttered. "You looked beautiful. It looked better on you than it did on me."
"Really? Then I'll keep it!" Alex excitedly said, just like a little child.
"You drank a lot back there, didn't you?" Daniel laughed softly. "Yeah, keep it. Consider it a gift for Christmas."
"Yay! You're so nice!"
Daniel stopped in his tracks. Nice? He must be kidding.
"You helped me so much, I can't thank you enough. There aren't many who are truly kind to me..." Alex's voice lowered with each word, sounding sad.
"You're... different." Daniel quietly replied.
"And wait, what? C-Christmas? But..." Alex's drunkness rose.
"Huh? Today's the third of December, don't you know?"
Alex shook his head. "I forgot."
A chuckle appeared, echoing through the small store.
"Stupid. Just keep it. My early Christmas gift for you." Daniel laughed.
"Thanks? Why so early though?" Alex smiled warmly, his eyebrows slightly raised in confusion at the dates.
"I probably won't be around at that time. Business and stuff." He replied normally.
"Hmm." Alex nodded, thinking thoughtfully.
Daniel glanced at the small guy beside him. A sudden smile appeared on his face.
"Cute." He thought.
"Here." Alex pushed a red piece of fabric into Daniel's hands. "For you."
His soft, caring, and gentle beaming through Daniel's ears.
"A... scarf?" He questioned after a few minutes of staring.
"Yeah... I would have made you one myself, but by the time I finish, you'll have been away. Also, I'm currently busy too." He clumsily explained.
"Hm." Daniel attentively listened. "It's pretty."
"Really? Thanks! Glad you like my Christmas gift." He chuckled brightly.
A soft tough landed on Alex's head, gently moving through his hair.
"Thank you, Alex. You made me really happy."
