This post from Sarah, HopesPrayersNSmiles , changed my perspective last night. Or rather reminded me of something that I had forgotten.
What you're asking of Allah is never impossible for Him. Just look up at the cosmos, He created those. Just stare at your own hands in fascination (as one of my cousin's little ones does). He created them. Just reflect on how the Red Sea was parted by Him for Musa AS. He did that. Just think of how the fire was cooled for Ibrahim AS. He did that. Just think of Yunus AS being brought to safety from the belly of that whale. He did that!
And for Him it's no mighty painstaking task. It's as easy as giving a command and it is.
Whatever may seem absurd, irrational, hopeless, impossible ... They are not applicable to Him. They are applicable to us. It's beyond our rationality, how the Red Sea could ever have parted. Just imagining it blows my mind away. It seems hopeless, being stuck in a whale's belly. But not when Allah is with you. It seems impossible, not being burnt when you're thrown into fire. But only if Allah commands that fire to not harm you.
This is our Rabb. And He, is beyond our imperfect comprehension. He is Perfect. In every sense.
And so there is no danger of getting hurt when it is upon Him you place hope.
Shift the perspective of duaa from being worried about not getting what you want, to having full confidence. Because you're asking of Him. Shift the perspective from your desires, to the One of whom you're asking. Feel hope swelling in your heart again. Focus on your connection with Allah, the rest will follow through. He will provide, for whomever He wills, without hisāb.
There is one thing of impossibility that we can do as humans. Have faith. Unwavering, strong, beautiful faith. A faith that transcends all logic and rationality, because that faith is in Allah. And He transcends our rationality and logic.
Hope.
Fervently place all hopes on Him, with conviction. Because there is no room for doubt with regards to Him. He would never let one down. Never.
Seek everything you want through Him.
Don't just ask of Him. Don't place your desires first. Place Him first.
Believe in Him. Have hope in Him. Trust Him. Focus on Him.
And be patient.
Everything will fall into place. In miraculous ways. Because He is the One in charge.
Faith can move mountains. Because that faith is invested in the One who owns the mountains. The positivity of the Prophet SAW stemmed from His connection with Allah at all times. In the face of battle with his enemies, when he endured loss, when there were good times and bad times. He stayed connected to Allah. And so he smiled.
Seek with firm conviction, because you believe in Him. And find yourself basking in inexplicable hope. Hope that would never hurt or break you.
