May Allah bless you and your families with a beautiful day of worship and celebration and keep us all under His mercy and guidance and compassion!
As always Eid ul Adha is one that brings to mind the bravery and commitment and sacrifice of Khalilullah Ibrahim A.S and his son Ismail A.S. It is a reminder that our loyalty towards Allah has to be unquestionable and firm. It brings to the mind the resilience, optimism and strength of character of the wife of Ibrahim A.S and the mother of Ismail A.S, Hajara, May Allah have mercy on her.
It is the same spirit of sacrifice and love and loyalty and optimism that is required this Eid, especially as my home state is once more in the grips of a flood again. Last time my own district was spared but this time it was not quite the same. Also there are the people of Kashmir to be thought of, whose situation is becoming eerily akin to that of the people of Palestine. There are people all around the world, Muslim men and women and children, who are suffering and being oppressed and towards whom those in power turn a blind eye with ease. As we celebrate, these people ought to be remembered. May Allah protect us all.
