Kyanite and Zeru had been in a beautiful romantic relationship for over two years. The couple had shared countless moments of happiness, joy, and intimacy with each other. However, they had grown apart lately, and their once-solid relationship had started crumbling. After much contemplation, they eventually decided to break up and go their separate ways.
Kyanite, in particular, had been finding it hard to move on from her recent breakup. She was still struggling to come to terms with the fact that her once-loving relationship had ended. To make matters worse, she had just been promoted, which significantly increased her stress levels. The new role had come with tons of added responsibilities and expectations, and Kyanite was finding it challenging to cope with the increased workload. The combination of her recent breakup and her demanding job had left her feeling overwhelmed and emotionally drained.
One summer night, Kyanite decided to go out with her friends to celebrate her promotion. As the night wore on, she began to feel restless and impatient. Kyanite felt like escaping to enjoy the moment. Thus, she left her friends and walked down the street, hoping to find something exciting to do.
As she strolled down the street, lost in her thoughts, she chanced upon a new bar that had recently sprung up, catching her eye with its bright neon lights. Intrigued, she decided to check it out. As she pushed open the door, a wave of energy pulsating throughout the bar hit her. The lively music filled the air, and she immediately felt a sense of belonging. The people in the bar were all smiles and seemed friendly, making her feel at ease. She sidled up to the bar and ordered a drink, relishing the thought of settling in for the night in this vibrant atmosphere. While vibing to the music, Kyanite heard the melody of her favorite song: "Blue" by Keshi.
"Impatient, just say it
Still waitin', for another round
New faces, I'm racin'
On foot, but I'll never make it home
Sixth street for the occasion
Can't take all of the changes
Blue moon in different phases
Blue moon in different places."
As the minutes turned into hours, Kyanite became lost in her thoughts, oblivious to the passage of time. She had been walking without aim while being lost in her world. She had not noticed that she had wandered into an unfamiliar part of the town. When she finally lifted her head, she was surprised to find herself surrounded by unfamiliar buildings and streets, with no familiar landmarks to guide her.
Panic set in as Kyanite realized she was alone and had no one to turn to for help. The feeling of being lost and vulnerable was overwhelming, and she struggled to keep her composure as she searched for a way back home. She walked for hours, her mind racing with fear and uncertainty.
While looking around frantically, she noticed a kind stranger approaching her. The stranger introduced himself and offered to walk her home. Kyanite hesitated for a few seconds, unsure if she should trust this person she had just met. But something in the stranger's eyes put her at ease, and tranquility swept over her.
The stranger walked Kyanite home, taking the time to point out landmarks and streets along the way. As they walked, they talked about their lives, and Kyanite felt grateful for the stranger's presence. She arrived home safely and felt thankful for the stranger's kindness and the sense of safety he had given her in a moment of distress. Kyanite realized there were still good people willing to help others in need.
When the stranger left, Kyanite breathed a deep sigh and walked over to her couch, sinking into it. The events of the day kept replaying in her mind, leaving her feeling unsettled. She needed an outlet to process her emotions, and the perfect solution lay in the form of her guitar, which was resting on a stand in the corner of the room. She picked it up and began playing a tune familiar to her, "Blue" by Keshi. The melody flowed through her fingers. Each note was a balm to her troubled thoughts. As she played, she improvised the lyrics to the tune. The words came to her naturally, as if they had always been there, waiting to be expressed. The music and lyrics worked together, becoming a perfect expression of her emotions, and she felt more peaceful than ever.
"Three hours, three months away
Go back but not the same
I don't want you to see me
'Cause I'm not what I seem
Why was everyone leaving?
Do we say what we mean?
Got the 9-5 and the bloodline
Better dress up for the date night
For the date night."
The words flowed effortlessly from her lips, expressing the confusion and uncertainty she had been feeling. But as she continued to play, she felt a sense of clarity and understanding surge her. She knew she had been lost and vulnerable but also found a kind stranger who had helped her when she needed it most. And that gave her hope for the future. Hence, Kyanite finally decided to move on from her past relationship. While lying in bed, she felt empowered, knowing she was taking control of her happiness. With a determined mindset, Kyanite set her alarm on her phone for the next day. She was ready to embark on a new journey of finding love and companionship. As she closed her eyes, she could not help but feel excited and optimistic about what the future held.
"Don't hit my cell
There's an unknown number on my phone
I don't need your help
Just let me lay down on the floor
I don't know myself
Not like the time I did before
No, no."
However, while Kyanite was asleep in bed, her phone suddenly rang. She groggily reached for her phone, squinting at the bright screen. It was an unknown number, and she hesitated before answering. When Kyanite did, she was surprised to hear Zeru's voice on the other end.
"Kyanite, it's me!" He said urgently.
Kyanite's heart raced as her phone rang in the middle of the night. She checked the caller ID and saw it was Zeru, her ex-boyfriend. They had not spoken in weeks, and she could not help but wonder why he was calling her at such an odd hour. Her mind raced with questions, and she could not shake off the feeling of apprehension.
"What do you think you're doing?" Kyanite asked grumpily.
Zeru ignored her and continued speaking. "Kyanite, listen to me. I made a mistake by breaking up with you. I miss you so much. Can we please talk about this?"
Kyanite sighed. She had just moved on from Zeru for an hour and decided to look for a new lover. She did not want to go back to him, but she did not want to be rude either.
"We're over!" Kyanite said, trying to be firm.
Kyanite's heart was beating fast, and she could feel the beads of sweat on her forehead as she held the phone to her ear. Zeru had been quiet for a while, and she waited anxiously for his response. But there was only silence on the other end of the line, and Kyanite knew something was wrong.
As the minutes passed, her anxiety turned to frustration and eventually to anger. She hung up the phone and tried to go back to sleep, but her mind was racing with thoughts and emotions.
The next day, Kyanite woke up feeling conflicted. She still cared for Zeru but knew it was time to dust herself off and move on. She sat down and composed a text message to him, telling him that she could no longer talk to him but still wished him the best. She hoped he understood that they were better off apart and that she was ready to find a new lover and start a new chapter in her life. Kyanite experienced a feeling of solace as she clicked the send button on her message. Kyanite once felt like her heart had been ripped out of her chest after breaking up with Zeru. During that time, whenever she sat alone, listening to sad music and letting her mind wander, she could not help but feel like the lyrics perfectly encapsulated her feelings. She knew she had been pitiable and given everything she had to Zeru, but it was not enough. He had been distant and uninterested in their relationship for months, and she had finally realized that they were simply not meant to be together. It had been a hard pill to swallow, but she knew it was for the best. And now she had made up her mind to keep moving and find joy on her terms instead of let this heartbreak define her or hold her back.
"Tear me to pieces
I won't even feel it
You're not what I needed
Move on with the seasons."
Over the next few weeks, Kyanite threw herself into her work and hobbies. She went out with friends, tried new things, and pushed herself to be her best version. Slowly but surely, the pain of the breakup began to fade.
In the end, while looking back on that difficult time in her life, Kyanite realized that the lyrics of "Blue" by Keshi were more than just words on a page. They were a reminder that sometimes, things fall apart so that better things can come together. And in her case, that was exactly what occurred.
