Chapter 0: Opened Rift

Nix's POV
I am currently enjoying my fun as I kill the people of this village that I was sent to so that I could protect it.
I laugh maniacally as I see Mimi and Tini enjoying their own fun.
After a while I decide to head back to the village leader.
As I walk towards him, I see that he is absolutely horrified and distraught. I chuckle darkly.
"Why have you done this?! I asked you for help in saving the village. Not destroying it!" The man cries out as he looks towards me.
"Don't you see, my good sir? This way the village won't be attacked anymore." I defend my actions. It technically is the truth.
He looks at me with disgust.
"What kind of Protectors member are you?" The man asks me before he cries out in pain as I stab him in the stomach.
I chuckle at him then transform back into my true form.
The look of true fear appears in the man's eyes.
A grin of sadistic glee appears on my face.
I shove him to the ground harshly.
"A devil kind of member." I laugh maniacally as I now start looking through his pockets.
I find a folded piece of paper.
After I unfold it, I read it and figure out the leader's name.
Richard Parker. Interesting name.
"They don't know what you are. Do they?" I hear Richard weakly ask me. Looking back at him I just grin wider.
"You are absolutely right, my good sir." I explained and I laugh maniacally once again.
Suddenly I feel a surge of unstable magic coming from underneath me.
The ground starts shaking.
"Dad? What is going on?" I hear Mimi ask me clearly freaked out. Tini just whimpers.
Still with the 'daddy' name calling.. it's irritating.
Before I could answer, I see a glowing light underneath me.
Then I fall downwards and I black out.
Third Person
After Nix got dragged into the unstable rift, Mimi and Tini look at the spot horrified.
"Where is mom?" Tini asks her sister worriedly.
"I have no idea sis! Why did this have to happen now?! We were having fun!" Mimi complains in an upset tone.
Meanwhile at the Protectors guild hall, the rest of the Protectors are standing back up after the force of the earthquake knocked all of them down.
"What was that?" Bryan the fire dragon slayer asks confused.
The guild leader looks at him.
"I have no idea, Bryan." Lo'Pho explains just as confused.
Kay looks at the others there and notices someone missing.
"Hey guys? Where is Nix?" She asks worriedly.
A look of worry hits each of the members faces. Except Mania.
"I had sent him on a quest to save a village." Lo'Pho explains as his worry was the strongest.
"We should head to that village and see if he is alright." Alex (Beeboy) mentions to everyone.
"Absolutely! Bryan, Kay you two are coming with me to the village while the rest of you stay in Atlantide and check up on the citizens." Lo'Pho says and everyone agrees.
Everyone then heads out to do their tasks.
After about three hours Lo'Pho, Bryan and Kay finally arrive on the trail that leads directly to the village.
While walking on the trail, Bryan suddenly smells what seems to be smoke.
More specifically, smoke associated with burning buildings.
He gets hit with a very bad feeling.
"Guys, I smell smoke!" Bryan explains worriedly to the other two.
Lo'Pho looks at him and back forward.
There in the distance is dark smoke and what looks to be flames.
"We must hurry! People might be hurt!" He starts to fly and rushes forward towards the village.
Bryan and Kay runs after him.
After flying as fast as he could, Lo'Pho lands on the ground and when he looks forward, he sees something horrific.
In front of him are dozens of people who were clearly murdered.
"Lo'Pho! Wait!" Bryan calls out from behind from his guild leader.
Then he sees what Lo'Pho sees and gasps in horror.
Kay soon joins them just to have a similar reaction.
"What happened here?" Kay asks with tears in her eyes.
Lo'Pho could feel guilt and anger fill him.
It has to have been Nix who did this.
"I have my suspicions." He says with anger clearly laced in his voice.
Then the three Protectors hear a high pitched gasp.
They look towards the sound and see two tiny black figures rush behind a burning building.
Mimi and Tini rush behind a burning building. The both of them clearly now feeling pure fear.
"Well the Protectors clearly know now. They saw us." Mimi mentions quickly. Tini is clearly freaking out.
"Dad is so gonna punish us, Tini." Mimi realizes as she looks at her sister.
"We're gonna get the spray bottle!" Tini cries out in fear.
The spray bottle was one of the worst punishments the young demons have ever received from Nix. He was a cruel and sadistic devil after all.
Then Mimi looks up behind her sister and sees the three Protectors glaring at them,
Tini looks behind her and squeals.
"Mimi. Tini. Where is Nix?" Lo'Pho asks the young demons sternly.
"We have no idea where dad is! He got dragged into some bright crack in the ground." Mimi explains and she points towards the still bright crack on the ground next to the now dead village leader.
