32 Hesitating Aranv
Part 32 Hesitating Aranv
In college,
Khushi came to the college and was upset, not finding Arnav in the class. She dialed his number but, he didn't attend it. She was suffocating restlessly. If he didn't come to the college, she could not meet him for the next two days because it was a weekend. She didn't know how to make him understand her stand without meeting him. She was frustrated and helpless.
Arnav intentionally came to the college late at the end of the first period. Khushi's face brightened to see him. Arnav saw her sitting at their place as usual and felt a little relieved. He came to their place and sat silently. He knew Khushi was looking at him smilingly. He looked at her and averted his gaze. As he didn't expect, Khushi slowly touched his palm. Arnav looked at her hand. She entwined her fingers with his lovingly. He slowly raised his eyelashes to her face controlling his emotions.
"I LOVE YOU" she whispered.
Arnav tried to pull his hand but she gripped it tight with her both hands.
"Don't try..." she warned.
"Khushi, leave my hand..." he said in a thin tone.
"Why?"
"Khushi... what you think will never happen"
"Why won't it happen?"
"I already told you... I'm cursed..."
"But, I'm feeling blessed to have you in my life... I don't care about your damn curse... understand?"
Arnav removed her hand.
"Listen to the class first..."
"Ok, I will listen to the class FIRST... will you listen to me SECONDLY?"
Arnav didn't answer but looked at the professor. Though he asked her to listen to the class, his mind didn't listen to the lesson. His mind was getting deep down into Khushi. He could not believe Khushi still said the three magical words to him. She was firm... she had not changed her mind even after knowing the horrible truth of his life... but... would it be stable? Won't she feel bad for loving a werewolf later? What would she think if she got to know how he was facing the full moon day every month? Could she bear it? Won't she feel low to have such a life partner? Did she accept him WHOLEHEARTEDLY, or this was sympathy? He was debating about the girl who was sitting next to him.
He turned his gaze and looked at her gulping down. Khushi smiled at him.
"Do you have any idea, what you are doing, Khushi?"
"Do you think I'm doing this without any idea, Arnie?"
"Yes, you have no idea what the werewolf is..."
"I have... I have surfed about it thoroughly... I understood why you refused the keer in the silver bowl... how you reached me in the blink of an eye when the snake was about to attack me... how you uprooted the tree to hit the guys in the Botanical Garden... how you reached the place hearing my voice and broke Parthiban and his friends' hands and legs... you have superpower... you can hear, see, and sense better than us..."
"If you got to know so much about werewolf, you would have known that it would kill anyone at the time of transformation... there won't be any difference..."
"Why will I be there when you transform? I will also go to the temple with Uncle and Aunty on the full moon day...! And I got to know one more thing too... werewolves can be controlled with a mirror. If a werewolf sees its reflection, it will cause them so much shame and embarrassment that they will lose their powers and turn back into their human form. So, I will keep a mirror with me on the full moon day... simply..."
"It's not simple... but horrible..." he said painfully.
Khushi held his hand softly.
"I know Arnav... your horrible condition will become simple if I'm with you... will not it?"
Arnav faced a hard time controlling his eyes from pooling. he pulled his hand and said,
"I don't want to be selfish... please change your mind, Khushi..."
"I won't... love can't be changed... my love is true... I will get you by hook or by crook... understand that"
"It will not happen..." he said looking down.
"I will make it happen" She lifted his chin up and challenged him.
"Have you gone mad? Won't you understand? Don't be blind in love... open your eyes and see the reality"
"I'm seeing YOU, Arnav. I don't want to see anything beyond that. You are enough for me."
Arnav closed his eyes.
"I know you too love me... don't LOCK it inside you. I'm the owner of your love. It's mine... give it to me"
Arnav held his head and said nothing.
It was a short break. Lavanya called Khushi to the girls' room.
"I will just come..." Khushi said and left.
Arnav was looking at her retreating figure. Though she looked cool, he could not conclude. She was excited because she didn't experience it in real. Speaking was easy but experiencing it was completely different.
After a while, Khushi came to the class and saw their bench empty. Arnav was not there. She rushed to their place and checked whether Arnav's bag was there or not. It was not there. it seemed he was left. She gulped down her tears hard. She felt dejected.
Taking her mobile, she dialed his number but he didn't receive it. She rolled her eyes with annoyance. Sitting at their place, she typed a message controlling her tears.
*I feel ashamed of myself because I failed to make you TRUST me. You left the college without bidding bye to me. I don't think you did that becaue you don't want to see me. you left the college because you didn't want to give me hope but I promise I WILL GIVE YOU HOPE... in me... in my love. Now also I'm not upset with you, Arnie. I could not be upset with you. You are my Arnie... I want to be with you. my heart longs to make you mine. Believe it or not, it's true. I will do it by hook or by crook. Mark my words, YOU WILL TRUST ME LIKE ANYTHING... I will make it possible." She sent the message.
The next second she saw the BLUE TICK. Arnav read the message. His eyes tear up, he didn't know if he should feel happy or not but he was sure he was emotional. He didn't know what to do. He so wanted to accept Khushi. At the same time, he feared that she might think him selfish. He felt like standing on the knife.
Khushi didn't care about not getting the reply to her message. She didn't expect it. So no disappointment. She knew how to deal with him. The next two days were holidays. Neither Arnav could come to the college nor would he attend her calls. So, she decided to attack him, going to his house directly. Then he could not run away from her.
Evening
Khushi came home and saw Shashi arranging his clothes in a case. He smiled at her.
"I'm going to Chennai for CM's meeting"
"When will you come, Dad?"
"I will come the day after tomorrow, beta"
"Oh..."
"You can go to Arnav's house if you don't want to be here alone"
Khushi was stuck. She nodded no that surprised Shashi.
"Why? Did you guys fight?" he asked worriedly.
"No, Dad... my friends got to know I stayed at his home. They were upset with me for not considering them. So, this time, I'm going to stay at Lavanya's place and more than that, I don't want Arnav's parents to think about me differently"
Shashi nodded yes.
"As you say... call me if you need anything"
"Dad, I have friends here... you just carry on. Don't bother about me" she said.
Shashi touched her head smilingly. After having dinner, Shashi left Ooty to attend CM's meeting that was going to be held in Chennai.
Khushi stood looking at him. She lied to her father. She didn't feel like sharing her plan of going to Arnav's house. She could not conclude Shashi's stand in Arnav's matter. She was not sure what would be his reaction if he got to know the biggest truth of Arnav's life. Even though she was ready to face him, she didn't want it to happen soon.
The next morning
Khushi headed to Arnav's house to meet him... just to meet him...! she didn't have any idea to stay there. She wanted to clear her stand. That was all she was going for.
Khushi got into the bus and sat in a seat. She didn't know how she was going to talk to Arnav. His mother would be there. She was not sure if Arnav would give her a chance to talk to him. She should find a chance to talk to him. if he didn't give her a chance, she should get it through Ratna in some way. Khushi decided.
Khushi stood up from the seat to get down from the bus as she had to get down at the next stop. She shrank her eyes, seeing Arvind and Ratna crossing her bus in the car. She was sure Aranv was not in the car. She was stuck. Where were they going? She was excited. So Arnav was alone at home. Her mind worked fast. She would never get such a chance in her life. He had to talk to her. He could not run. He would not have a choice. She got down from the bus and walked in the woods to reach Arnav's house, thinking about what to do to make him trust her.
