Phoenix {S.H.I.E.L.D.}

Origin

ArielleViennant

Dear reader,
My name is Arielle Phoenix. What you are about to read is my Origin story, and may surprise you. This is a very tragic and painful tale. You are about to enter a very strange, but very real world.
This is my world.

My last memory

I struggled for air. The salty water filled my lungs and I reached for the fading surface. My limbs went weak and my vision faded.

Present times

I sat up in bed, covered in a cold sweat. My red hair was a mess behind me. I breathed in large gasps of air, practically swallowing the oxygen. I laid back down and wiped my forehead. I closed my eyes and the flashes of my last memory danced across my eyelids. I wrapped my wings around me and curled back up.
Heat enveloped me and smoke entered my lungs. I happily breathed this in and smiled. I was used to it clogging my airways. Drowning was the only memory I had without wings or my heat abilities. Both were now a big part of my life. As a thief, I often used my wings to escape from tight corners. My flames could help me melt through walls and burn evidence. My mind drifted off to nightmares once more.

I yawned and put my feet against the cold tiles. I yanked my wings back into my jacket and breathed out a puff of condensation. I pulled my short, firey red ombré hair into a ponytail. The crisp air nibbled at my freckles and made my nose rosey. I straightened the neckline of my black jacket and zipped it up. Needles shot up my arms and legs, so I shook them out. I slung my bag over my shoulder and took off in a sprint, slowing into a jog, then finally into a stride.

~

I tied a black bandana around my neck, wrapping it around my nose and mouth. I hid my bag behind a bush, but grabbed my dagger out of it. I stalked up to a mansion in the nice part of town. "Time to go." I whispered to myself. The night sky danced across the horizon and gave me the necessary cover for my mission. I crept across the shadows and hid myself. The huge mansion was marble and probably very plentiful. I used the palms of my hand to melt through the wall, making a path. I crawled through the opening to face a firing squad.

"Hands up."

I put my palms up and one leg back through my entry way. "Siyanora!" I said, ducking into the hole. I heard shots fire around me and felt a sharp pain in my shoulder. I fell out of the passage and cried out in pain, holding my shoulder. Blood leaked through my hand. I took a deep breath and spread my red/orange wings behind me, using them to propel myself upward. A net encased me and I instinctively lot myself on fire. The net burnt off, but I felt a sharp pang on my forehead. My vision blurred and I fell, landing in another net. My consciousness failed me, and I fell into darkness.
