Shatter

ArielleViennant

I walked along an icy surface. My white dress danced on the wind. A figure stood around a hundred feet away. I pushed the hair out of my face and squinted. His blond hair flew around. "Derick," I murmered. I blinked and he appeared around fifty feet away this time. Closer, closer. I reached out my hand and felt a cold, hard surface. The image shattered like a mirror. It changed to an image of me. It flickered between an image of me as myself and one that had scars and cuts all over her face and a huge gash on her shoulder. The mirror splintered everywhere. I saw myself and Derick standing apart, around fifty feet apart. A blue aura and a red one clashed in the center. He was wearing a futuristic white suit with blue accents and had his white and blue wings out behind him. I had mine out behind me. The image flickered again, this time to show his dead body standing and mine battered. It went back to my point of view and Derick turned to dust. The wind blew the gray ashes that he turned into away.

I took in a deep breath and went into a coughing fit. I had normal handcuffs on now. I heard a sharp knock at the door. The man with the scar stepped up to answer it. A gunshot rang out. I scurried against the back of my cage. A group of men in combat gear filled the room. A man in a black jacket emerged from the center. He kneeled down and opened the cage door. He offered a hand to me. "Even if I wanted to take your filthy hand, Ward, your mercenary tied them behind me." He smirked and grabbed my arm, pulling me out. He pulled out a walkie-talkie and spoke into it. "The girl has been recovered. On route now." He pulled me along, up the steps and out the door. I spent one last glance at the camera in the corner above my cage. One of the men noticed and shot it out.

What they didn't notice was the tracker I'd left behind.

~

My dream catcher necklace was built in with a tracker. I had emitted a signal after being dunked in the water, since my hands were in front of me.The signal would lead S.H.I.E.L.D. to the scar man's house. Then, they could find the camera and recover the data. If I could press the gem in the middle of my necklace again, I'd give them a trail.
Let's just hope I didn't lead them to a body.
Ward put me in an armored car, obviously made for powered people. It even came with special hand cuffs. Luckily, I grabbed ahold of them and knocked the guard out, grabbing his gun. I kicked the doors open and spread my wings. They were bent and broken, sure, but I could glide away. The wind was going against the vehicle. I jumped out and caught an air current. I pressed my necklace again and dropped to the ground in a roll. Mind you, a very painful roll. I ducked behind a building and readied my gun. One by one, HYDRA agents dropped into barrel rolls out of the vehicle. They brought it to a stop pretty quickly. I clicked my necklace once more and ran out at the agents. I dodged the bullets, but one skimmed my thigh and one caught me in the shoulder. I winced and kept on going. I shot a few of of the soldiers, racing around them. I was surprisingly fast for someone who had been tortured and shot for the past few weeks. I grabbed another gun and turned around. The soldiers ran after me, so I did a roll to avoid the rapid gunfire and spun around. I stopped and knelt down, shooting from each hand. The agents fell like dominoes and I stopped to take a breath. I felt another pang of pain in my abdomen and saw Ward approaching, gun raised. One, two. A bullet cut a hole on the edge of my ear. Another bullet on the edge of my abdomen. My vision faded to black focused on a figure in white.

???'s POV

I stepped out of the alley. The shooter didn't even see me coming. I sent a blast of ice at him that froze him to the asphalt. Unfortunately, he would probably live. I froze the rest of the soldiers to the ground. I knelt next to Ari and picked her up, kissing her forehead. She woke up for a moment. "Derick," She mumbled. I froze her wounds over and hugged her, lying her back on the ground. She looked at me one last time before I stabbed a blue crystal in her stomach. She turned to stone with a betrayed look on her face. Two SUVs approached.

Daisy's POV

A figure dressed in a white trenchcoat blocked the road. He turned to look at our cars, then turned back and evaporated. "What the hell was that?" Mack asked. I shrugged and we pulled over.  A stone figure was lying on the ground. "An Inhuman. We have to get over to them!" Mack looked at me weird. "What about the signal from her necklace?" He asked. "We can deal with that later." I got out of the car and ran over to the statue. Mack joined me. I knelt beside the frozen figure and waited. Mack tapped me on the shoulder. "What is it-" I looked up and stopped what I was saying.

A whole army of frozen soldiers was waiting for us.
And Ward was at their head with a gun pointed at us.
Mack poked the Ward statue. I gasped in awe. "Uh, Mack? We have bigger issues than traitor on ice."
The stone Inhuman's shell was breaking off. The hands and arms peeled off to reveal scarred arms, and the same with the legs. Wounds plagued her whole body. The face broke off last. Ari was lying in my arms.
