Recharging

something-sings

There are days
when I refuse to do even a thing,
Yet there are ways
where I shall go to let my soul sing.

"Precious is my inner peace,"
I thought as I reminisced
'bout needlees conversations
weighing me down in the mist.

Some time is needed to recharge;
some time is needed for myself.
Loneliness, quite scary at large,
yet it's there—always on my shelf.

"Take care," your voice murmured softly
When I slowly lifted my face
The sun was shining so brightly
As we both adjusted our pace.

Quite special—all of our talks;
Inner peace, never once stirred.
Alone time, when peace unlocks,
now seems redundant and blurred.

I wake up from my deep slumber,
knowing such connection's occurred.
One more thing's added to my list
of the ways where my soul'd persist.

You may not have an idea
of the power that you own:
Recharging's never needed,
when you're here, my heart is sewn.

There are days
when I refuse to do anything,
Yet on those days
I can be with you without recharging.
