The Night
The night is slowly drifting by;
The moon is nowhere in the sky.
Inside the room where memories are,
A note announces, "Morning's nigh."
The ancient days have passed afar,
With sparkling gleams just like a star;
They weigh the weary heart down low,
Where bright old days now leave a scar.
Since when did night cease being foe,
Its darkness now no longer woe?
The early bird in heavy sleep
Forgets to take the dawn's kind glow.
A trembling voice within the deep
Resounds the hope I want to keep;
The shining sun is still up high—
There's still way back to morning's eye.
