Chapter 1
Avery is like every young woman with a job, her own house in the suburbs. She does take care of her two sisters. Cristy is 17 and always gives her hell. Loren is 14 and doesn't really care for much. Avery's parents work over seas leaving Avery to take care of them. She was 23 but she has a little secret.
*Avery*
I woke up to my alarm. I jumped up and hopped in the shower. Then I dried off and got dressed and looked in the mirror at my bright gold eyes. I put my colored contacts my to make my eyes look brown. I had to order special contacts and hormones from my doctor. The hormones are to make me smell like a normal human. He's the only one who knows what I really am and the only one that helps me. During a blood test he found something in my blood that's how we found out I was adopted. I come from a very old and powerful blood line of werewolves. My doctor always helped me through everything. He was like a father to me because my adopted parents were never there but he always was. He always did everything and anything for me. I always called him my guardian angel. Tonight was a full moon which I always took off. I slipped on so make up and ran down stairs making breakfast when the girls walked down.
"Cristy you are not wearing that to school." I said, looking up seeing her wear a low cut crop top that showed her stomach and cleavage and high waist shorts. When I looked over seeing Loren wearing a low cut short dress.
"You neither Loren go change." I commanded.
"Um no I want to meet boys not stay single till I'm an old grandma like you." Loren snickered.
"Um well until you live on your own you listen to my rules. So ya go change or no breakfast." I replied sarcastically. They sighed and just walked out the front door. So I just finished mine, put the rest away and left. I got in the car and left straight out the door. It was a small privately owned clinic. I walked into the main office.
"Hey Mary." I smiled. She was one of his head nurses. She was a sweet older woman.
"Hi Avery here to see David?" She smiled. The nurses always picked on us because they thought we had a thing since I visited so much. Plus he was young and handsome and a bachelor. They even tried hooking us a couple of times.
"Yes." I smiled. When he walked in and smiled when he seen me.
"Avery I was wondering when you'd show up?" He said, putting his hand behind on my back walking me through the door down the the hall to last door that leads to the basement. It a room he specifically made for me there was even a cell built in so he could lock me up during full moons so I can change safely without harming myself or anyone else. He liked observing me when I change. I can change at will but I never do because I can't control my natural instincts. Which the hormones help so I don't. He even restrains me. He led me to the middle of the room to the hospital bed where I laid down as he strapped me down he always did this before a full moon so he can give injections. He tucked my hair under my head before strapping my neck and waist. When the door open and two parents walked in with their son.
"I was wondering how long it would take you. Now Avery I need you to be a good girl. This is Mark and Lewis and their son Max. Their like you so invited to show them they can trust me. Is that okay?" He asked. I nodded.
"This is Avery I been working with her since she first started changing. Don't worry shes a sweetheart. But her wolf on the other hand not to much. That's why I restrain her. The straps aren't to tight are they sweetie?" He asked kissing my head. He always was affectionate to me since he thought of me as family.
"No it's fine." I replied.
"So we're going to try a new serum I wiped up to help you control yourself after you change you care to try?" He asked.
"Ya I trust you I know you wouldn't hurt me." I replied, smiling. He took out my contacts revealing my bright gold eyes. They stared at me in disbeilf.
"She is a wolf but she smells human." Mark said, walking over.
"That's because I give her special hormones to cover her natural sent." He replied.
"I'm an battas and I've never heard of a female before." He said, looking at me.
"Really then what about your wife?" David asked.
"The females in the pack are born from our wolf bloodlines but their mortals but there has never been a female before. You know what that means anyone who finds out about her will come and try to claim her." Mark said, when he injected me making me start to changed I roared showing my fangs trying to stop it as my claws started growing. He quickly unstrapped me putting me in the cell he chained me up and shut locking the door.
"Well that didn't work it wasn't met to make her change." He said, taking notes. When I growled roaring because of the pain. But I didn't black out like I normally do I was so aware of what was going on.
"Can you let me in with her I can help her?" Mark asked.
"No can do her wolf is really aggressive and violent." He replied.
"I'm a wolf I know want I'm doing." He when, he handed him the key. He walked over opening the door and shutting it locking us both in. When I stopped changing I laid in the floor.
"She's way to big to be a normal werewolf. Normal werewolves look like regular wolves. She looks much bigger and more human like." Mark said, as I lifted my head. I wagged my tail. Mark smiled and petted me. I looked down I looked exactly like a wolf but my body was like a humans but I still had my fur and tail. I growled playful rolling on my back. He laughed. When his phone rang.
"Hello yes alpha." He answered.
"They did what. Okay be right there." He hung up.
"The rogues went to far this time. They kidnapped the alphas daughter. They can't track them do you think Avery can?" He asked while David opened the door he. Took all the other chains off but looped anther around my neck to use as a leash.
"Absolutely." He said, smiling. Then they walked up the stairs and snuck me out the back. He stuck my in the back to the truck which was all sealed off so I couldn't see anything. They all climbed in. I heard the engine start. I laid down as we drove. I hated being in the back. It didn't take long for us to get out there. When they got out I heard a man say.
"You brought a human here." When I heard David walk over to the door.
"You might want to give her some space sweetie." He said, opening the door. I got up and jumped down practically pushing him out of the way. I shook my fur getting the chain off when I noticed they were all staring. I walked over to the alpha sniffing the stuffed bear in his hand. When I got a scent. I looked back at David.
"You got a scent?" He asked, I nodded pointing my head.
"Good now go get her." He said, I took off running. Till I jumped on a big male. There were four of them circling a little girl. I pinned the first one when one of them latch onto the lower part of my back so I tossed him at a tree knocking him out. When the other two jumped me so I slammed their heads together knocking them out. Then I limped over to the little girl. She backed away till I nuzzled her. I stood up on two legs picking her up. I limped back to the alpha. He ran over when he seen her. I handed her to him and walked over to the truck I sat down.
"Where'd this blood come from?" He questioned.
"It's not mine. Daddy he got hurt trying to save me." She replied she was around six years old.
"Actually sweetie Avery's a she not a he." David said, putting his long coat around me. As I changed back to my human form. My long black hair ran down my shoulders past my waist.
"She's a female?" He questioned.
"Yes and her names Avery." He replied.
"Can you stand sweetie." He asked, I shook my head.
"One got my lower back." I informed him. When Max ran to my side.
"May I have a look." He asked.
"Only if I get pants." I chuckled. When Lewis through a pair over to me. I leaned up against the truck to stand up. Then I limped into the back shutting it. I slipped on the pants she gave me and limped out when Max picked me up. I leaned forward as David lifted up the back of the coat inspecting my wound.
"Its pretty deep but you should heal in no time." He replied. I winced when I felt something touch it. I whimpered squeezing Max's shirt when he started rubbing my arm gently. When I noticed a big male beside the alpha growling when I whimpered making Max flinch. It was the alpha's son how did I not notice him until now was beyond me. He was so handsome and well built like a marine. His smells what really got my attention. It was so intoxicating. He smelled like pine trees and oak. He tilted his head when he noticed me staring. But instead of looking away I just tilted my head questioningly. Till his dad chuckled when he noticed how intently we were staring at each other when I heard the alpha whisper to him so no one would hear but I still did.
"You know if you pick her as your mate instead of the one your mother picked I wouldn't take it offensive. She'd make a much better mate, alpha, and mother then Cristy would anyways. Christy's isn't even from a wolf blood line and shes to young. At least Avery's more your age." I knew he was talking about my little sister and right on cue guess who walks over to him Cristy.
"Sis." I blurted when she looked at me.
"Avery the heck are you do... Oh my gosh Avery what happened to your back." She yelled running over.
"She got in a little scuffle." Max replied. When she covered her mouth.
"That looks bad will she be okay?" She asked frantically.
"Ya I'll be fine." I chuckled ruffled her hair.
"She's your sister?" The alpha asked.
"Ya my older one. She practically raised me and Loren." She replied.
"Ya and your already giving me grey hair." I smiled when David put something on my wound making me growl. She look at me questioningly.
"Sis are you a wolf?" She asked looking into my eyes.
"Ya how do you think she got these wounds." David said sarcastically.
"But there are no females so how is that possible." She replied.
"She's adopted so I honestly can't answer that. Unless I can track down her biological parents." He replied.
"I can ask mom to look it up." She informed me.
"That wouldn't be necessary since I've almost narrowed it down." He said, bandaging me up. She grabbed my hand when she seen me wince. I squeezed it slightly when he tightened the bandages. I let out a deep breath when he finished. She let go when she seen the alphas son watching me intently. She looked back at me as Max put me down. I held onto the truck to keep myself up. My legs were kinda shaky. But I managed to keep my self up.
"Why does he keep staring at you?" She asked irritatingly.
"I don't known." I shrugged. She seemed even more annoyed with my answer.
"What's it matter I just met them today." I said, which seemed to make her more mad. Then she slapped me for no reason.
"And there she is. I love how you act so nice in front of other people until your show your true colors." I replied as she raised her hand again. But I grabbed her hand.
"Keep it up I can send you somewhere else. So knock it off." I growled. When she kicked me right in the gut where one of the rogues hit me. Making my spit out blood. When I realized she had stabbed me. It was a silver dagger. If a wolf is injured by another wolf or silver they can't heal properly. David snatched the dagger out of her hand.
"The hell is your problem Cristy. She's your sister you don't just go around stabbing your sister." He yelled as I fell to the ground. He then lifted me up as she tried to get the dagger back.
"I'm calling juvie and getting you locked up you psychotic bitch." He said, setting me in the truck. He pulled out his phone when she tried snatching it off him.
"Why didn't no one try to stop her?" He asked they.
"Because she supposed to be our alphas future mate." Mark answered.
"You guys are seriously messed up to want this as your alphas mate." He replied. When he gave her a shot knocking her out. Then he hand cuffed her to a tree as he called the police. I whimpered trying to lift up my head. When he got off he got in the truck and petted my head. Soon after I blacked out.
