Cascade
Harley's POV
I kicked down the door and stormed in, wings out. The hallways cleared out around me. I carried myself with a sense of purpose, leading the team through the long corridors. I remembered the path to the room they experimented me on in. It was the only room I'd been to other than the room I'd lived in. Well, awake atleast. They sedated me before taking me out to graph the wings on. I paused in front of the heavy, white, metal doors and sighed before kicking it down. We burst through the doors, only to find an evacuated room. Well, almost evacuated. A small scientist was scurring out one of the doors. I ran over to him and smashed him against the wall. It cracked on impact and he screamed in pain. "Quiet. That is a millionth of the pain you've caused me. Where did your colleages go?" He gulped. "To another facility." I noticed he was holding something. I held out my hand expectantly. "Give the vial to me. Now, or you leave without your life." He looked terrified and handed me the small glass vial of a familiar blue liquid. "The serum." I mumbled, turning to Steve and throwing it to him. He caught it and examined it. "Looks like the Doctor's." I turned back to the scientist. "Where is this facility?" He looked over at Steve and the team. "I'm not sure. They should be leaving in a helicopter now. They haven't told us where to." Sam stepped forward and extended his suit's wings. "I'll go find it." I nodded and grabbed some cuffs from a shelf, cuffing the scientist. I took him by the arm and handed him to Natasha. "Take him to the police. Be careful, his shoulder is broken. Vision, try to see if there are any other people here." Vision nodded and disappeared into the halls. Wanda helped Natasha carry the skinny man out, leaving only Steve and I. "What's up with your eyes?" Steve asked, worry in his voice. "What about them?" I retorted. "One of them is red. Like, a fire." I shrugged and we left the building. "I'm going to go help Sam. He'll need some help taking care if that helicopter." Steve nodded and shook my hand. I extended my wings and flew off into the distance where Sam disappeared.

I heard the distinct drone of the helicopter's blades and knew I was getting close. I stretched my wings out, catching a fast wind and gliding. I spotted Sam and zoomed over to him. "Where are they heading and carrying?" I asked. Our wingbeats synced up so we didn't hit each other. "To the south. They might try to fly overseas to the equator, or even further south." I nodded and we flew further, catching up to the helicopter. The door opened and a machine gun rotated out, a guard jumping on it. I felt time slow down, seeing the bullets fly towards me. They were aimed at my heart. Sam jumped in front of me, taking a few to the stomach. They shot holes in his wings and he started falling. I grabbed him my the shoulders and started flying backwards. They shot me in the shoulder and I cried out. We were on the coast now, going near open sea. I paused in the air and they continued flying. I realised they weren't going anywhere.
The helicopter exploded into a fireball.
A piece of glass scratched my cheek and large chunks of the helicopter dropped into the ocean. I started plummeting. I managed to slow my descent, but I still hit the ground hard. I folded in my wings and put Sam on my back. Both of us were bleeding profusely and needed a hospital. I heaved Sam onto the grass and laid us both down. He was unconscious and I'm sure we were both exhausted. I took some deep breaths and looked for a phone on Sam. He had one on his toolbelt that had been destroyed by a bullet. I rested for a moment, putting pressure on Sam's wound, before putting him on my back once more and setting off. Unfortunately, we were in a nonpopulated area of rural New York. I found a seven eleven and set Sam on a bench. He was halfconscious and mumbled something. I stepped inside and the cashier was in awe. "Can you call an ambulance? My friend and I've been shot, and we're really tired." He was still terrified but phoned 911 anyway. An ambulance arrived shortly after and I rode with Sam to the hospital. They wiped away the blood and found a sealed wound. The cut on my face was sealed, too. They had to reopen it though, to get the bullet out. They stitched it up and I sat down in the room with Sam until the crew arrived.
