Chapter 25: Be mine
The morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room. Kelly's eyes fluttered open, groggily adjusting to the quiet of the early morning. She was surprised to find herself tangled in Scarlet's arms, the older girl's body pressed up against her, her head resting on Kelly's pillow. For a moment, Kelly simply stayed still, enjoying the rare feeling of safety and comfort, the peace of knowing someone was there beside her.
When she turned her head slightly, she saw that Scarlet was still asleep, her messy hair sprawled out across the pillow, her breathing soft and steady. Kelly couldn't help but smile at the sight—Scarlet looked like she belonged there, with her. But even as she felt the warmth of that thought, Kelly knew she had plans for the day, plans that didn't include staying in bed all morning.
Quietly, Kelly slipped out of bed, careful not to disturb Scarlet. She stretched her arms above her head, a yawn escaping her lips, then padded out of the room and into the kitchen. There, she found her mom sitting at the table, sipping her tea.
"Morning, sweetheart," her mom greeted her with a warm smile. "I made breakfast for you and Scarlet. I didn't want to wake you up... but you're up early today."
Kelly smiled sheepishly. "I couldn't sleep anymore. I'm hanging out with Sarah today, so I figured I'd get ready early."
Her mom raised an eyebrow at that, but didn't say anything further. Instead, she nodded toward the stove where breakfast was prepared. "You should eat something before you go. Scarlet made sure there's plenty of food for both of you."
Kelly blinked, surprised. "Scarlet made breakfast?"
"Yep," her mom said with a grin. "She's quite the cook, actually."
Kelly couldn't help but chuckle. "I bet. I'll go wake her up."
When she walked back to the room, she found Scarlet already stirring, her eyes opening just as Kelly stepped inside. Without a word, Scarlet stretched, her body lithe and relaxed. "Morning, princess," she whispered with a smile that could melt the coldest of hearts.
"Morning," Kelly murmured, still a little groggy, but smiling. "Mom made breakfast for us. I'll go change and then we can head out."
Scarlet sat up and watched Kelly with a lazy grin. "You're not going anywhere just yet."
Before Kelly could respond, Scarlet reached out, pulling her back toward the bed. Kelly let out a soft laugh, surprised, but she allowed herself to be tugged down into Scarlet's lap.
"I have to get ready," Kelly protested softly, her voice a little muffled as she tried to wiggle free.
Scarlet shook her head, her arms wrapping around Kelly's waist as she sat her in her lap. "I know. But you're not doing it by yourself. Come on," she said, grinning, "let me help you get dressed."
Kelly looked over her shoulder, raising an eyebrow. "Scarlet, you can't help me get dressed like that."
"Oh, I think I can," Scarlet teased, her fingers gently brushing through Kelly's hair. "Besides, if you want to look your best for Sarah, I'll make sure you're looking stunning."
Kelly rolled her eyes but couldn't suppress the smile tugging at her lips. "You're ridiculous."
"Shh," Scarlet whispered, taking the blow dryer and switching it on, the hum filling the room. She began carefully brushing through Kelly's hair, working the blow dryer in tandem to smooth out any stray strands. Kelly closed her eyes, relaxing into the touch, not at all surprised at how effortlessly Scarlet was making her feel at ease.
"You know," Scarlet continued, her tone soft and teasing, "this is what happens when you steal my heart—suddenly, I get to spoil you. I'm doing this because I want to. Because I like making you feel good."
Kelly's heart fluttered at the sincerity in Scarlet's voice, and she leaned into the touch a little more, letting herself enjoy the moment. "You're making it hard to leave, Scar," she murmured with a teasing grin, her fingers trailing lightly over Scarlet's arms.
"I'm not going to make you stay forever, princess," Scarlet replied with a wink, "but if you're going to go out, I'll make sure you're turning heads when you do."
Kelly rolled her eyes, but the smile that stretched across her face told a different story. "I can't believe I'm letting you do this."
Scarlet just chuckled and continued to work her magic, making sure Kelly's hair looked perfect. "I'm good at what I do. You should trust me more."
With Scarlet's help, Kelly felt like she was ready to conquer whatever the day threw her way. She couldn't help but feel a little bit spoiled, but she was okay with that—because, for once, someone was taking care of her in a way that felt right.
"Alright, princess," Scarlet said once she finished. "You look amazing. Now, go. Get your girl."
Kelly stood up, adjusting herself with a little smirk. "Thanks, Scar. You're the best."
Scarlet watched her, her smile soft and loving. "You're welcome. Now go have fun, but don't forget who made you look this good."
Kelly laughed, rolling her eyes playfully before heading to the door. "You'll be the first to know when I come back to steal you away," she said with a wink.
"Looking forward to it," Scarlet replied, watching Kelly leave, her heart light with the knowledge that no matter where the day took them, they would always find their way back to each other.
As Kelly walked out of the room, she couldn't shake the feeling of Scarlet's hands gently brushing through her hair, the warmth of her touch still lingering on her skin. She couldn't help but smile to herself. It was moments like this—small, quiet moments—that made her realize just how much she was falling for Scarlet.
Downstairs, Kelly's mom was already at the kitchen table, sipping her tea, but there was a softness in her eyes as she saw Kelly approach, looking ready for the day.
"Feeling good?" her mom asked, raising an eyebrow as she set her mug down.
"Yeah, actually," Kelly replied, adjusting the collar of her shirt. "Scarlet helped me get ready."
Her mom smiled, clearly amused. "I can tell. You look...different. In a good way."
Kelly couldn't help but blush a little at the compliment. "Yeah, well, she has her way with me."
Her mom chuckled. "I can see that."
There was a beat of silence before Kelly's mom spoke again, her voice softer now. "You're happy, Kelly. I can tell. And that's all I've ever wanted for you."
Kelly's heart warmed at her mom's words. She hadn't realized just how much she needed to hear that, how much she wanted her mom's approval of her relationship with Scarlet. It wasn't just about the love they shared, but about the validation that, for once, someone saw how real it was, how important.
"Thanks, Mom," Kelly said, her voice quieter now, her eyes filled with emotion.
Just then, the doorbell rang, and Kelly's mom stood up, walking toward the door. "That must be Sarah," she said with a grin. "Tell her I made enough food for both of you."
Kelly nodded, watching as her mom opened the door to reveal Sarah, who was standing there with a smirk on her face, clearly ready for a day of hanging out. But as soon as Sarah saw Kelly, she raised an eyebrow.
"You're looking especially... polished today," Sarah teased, her eyes flickering over Kelly's outfit and carefully styled hair.
"Scarlet worked her magic," Kelly replied with a shrug, a hint of amusement in her voice.
"Clearly," Sarah said, giving her a knowing look. "Is she hanging out with you too?"
"She's staying here," Kelly said, giving a subtle but playful glance toward the kitchen, where her mom had already returned to her seat, clearly enjoying the banter. "But I told her I'd hang with you for the day. So no worries, I'm still coming."
Sarah smirked again. "You're just using me for a break from Scarlet, aren't you?"
Kelly rolled her eyes but laughed. "No, I'm just trying to balance things out."
Sarah nudged Kelly with her elbow as they both walked toward the door. "It's nice, though. Seeing you two like this. It's...good for you."
Kelly stopped in her tracks, surprised by the sincerity in Sarah's voice. "You really think so?"
"Yeah," Sarah said, looking over at her with a soft smile. "I do."
As they walked out the door, Kelly glanced back at the house, feeling a warmth spreading inside her. She knew that, no matter what happened, she had something real with Scarlet. Something that wasn't just a fleeting connection, but something that had already become part of her life.
Later that evening, after a full day of fun with Sarah, Kelly returned home, feeling lighter, her mind at ease. She was surprised to find Scarlet still at the house, sitting on the couch with a soft smile, a cup of tea in hand.
"I thought you'd be gone by now," Kelly said, a playful glint in her eyes.
"I was waiting for you," Scarlet replied, her voice quiet but filled with something deeper. "You're my priority."
Kelly sat down next to her, her heart racing at the simple statement. "I'm yours too, you know."
Scarlet's gaze softened as she looked at Kelly. "I know."
There was a long pause, the air thick with everything they didn't need to say out loud. Scarlet set her cup down and gently placed her hand on Kelly's, the warmth of her touch sending a shiver through Kelly's body.
"How about we spend the rest of the evening together?" Scarlet suggested, her voice low, yet inviting.
Kelly nodded, leaning into her. "I think that sounds perfect."
And as they sat there, side by side, the world outside didn't matter. It was just them, in that moment, wrapped in their own quiet connection. There would be challenges ahead, and maybe there would be tough times, but for now, in that simple act of being together, Kelly knew everything would be alright.
......
In the bedroom
As the screen lit up with the opening of their music video, Kelly leaned back on the couch, her eyes widening in surprise. The visuals were bold, vibrant, and the mix of electronic dubstep and soulful pop had come together in a way that felt both empowering and electric. Scarlet, always confident in front of the camera, looked even more striking on screen.
Kelly laughed, a soft chuckle escaping her lips. "I didn't know you looked this badass on screen."
Scarlet glanced at her, a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips as she watched her own image flash across the screen. "Oh, please. You know I was born to own the spotlight."
Kelly shook her head, still smiling. "Well, you definitely did. You look... untouchable."
Scarlet leaned in, her eyes still glued to the screen but her voice playful. "That's the point, Kel. You gotta make 'em believe you're something they can't have."
Kelly turned her head to look at Scarlet, raising an eyebrow. "And are you untouchable?"
For a moment, Scarlet didn't answer. Instead, she stared at Kelly, her gaze softening just a little. "Maybe not. Maybe the right person can reach me."
Kelly felt her heart skip a beat, her chest tightening in a way that wasn't entirely from nerves. She swallowed, the mood shifting slightly. But then, just as quickly, Scarlet grinned and nudged her shoulder.
"Relax," she said, leaning back into the couch. "You've seen the video enough times to know, I'm all yours."
Kelly's lips parted slightly, her gaze still fixed on Scarlet. "You know, you really know how to drive me crazy, don't you?"
Scarlet raised her eyebrows, playfully cocking her head. "That's a compliment, right?"
Kelly snorted, turning her attention back to the screen. "You make it look so easy. It's like you've been doing this your whole life."
"Well," Scarlet said, her voice a little lower now, "I have been. Just not in front of a camera. But with you? It's easy. It's always been easy."
Kelly's pulse quickened. She tried to ignore the warmth spreading through her chest at the sincerity in Scarlet's voice. She was so used to Scarlet being in control, so used to seeing her take charge, that moments like these—when the walls came down just a little—felt rare and powerful.
"Well, I guess I'm the lucky one," Kelly said, her voice quieter now. "Getting to be in the video with you... I don't think I could've asked for a better partner."
Scarlet shifted closer, her hand brushing against Kelly's, and for a moment, neither of them said anything. They just watched their music video play out on the screen, the flashing lights and the beat matching the rhythm of their heartbeats, the world outside seeming far away.
Finally, Scarlet leaned in and whispered, her voice soft but steady. "This is just the beginning, Kel. There's so much more I want to show you... and so much more we can do together."
Kelly's lips parted, her breath catching slightly at the weight of Scarlet's words. "I'm ready for whatever comes next," she replied quietly, her gaze never leaving Scarlet's. "As long as it's with you."
Scarlet smiled, a look of genuine affection crossing her face as she nodded, brushing a strand of Kelly's hair behind her ear. "Always, princess. Always."
Kelly giggled at the comment, a playful grin spreading across her face. "Someone just told me I look like Katherine Pierce," she said, her voice light and teasing.
Scarlet raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing at her lips. "Is there a femme fatale that's this soft and delicate?" she asked, her tone a mix of curiosity and amusement.
Kelly shrugged, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Guess I'm a new kind of femme fatale. The kind that doesn't have to be all sharp edges and danger to be unforgettable."
Scarlet chuckled, clearly entertained by Kelly's response. "I think you might be onto something, princess. You've got the look, and you've definitely got the power. Just the right amount of mystery."
Kelly leaned back a little, her grin widening. "I like the idea of being a femme fatale... but with a twist. Soft, dangerous... and maybe a little bit unpredictable."
Scarlet's eyes darkened playfully, a spark of admiration in her gaze. "Unpredictable is exactly what makes you dangerous," she said softly. "And that's what makes you... irresistible."
Kelly felt her heart race at the intensity of Scarlet's gaze, but she couldn't help the laugh that bubbled up from within her. "You sure know how to make a girl feel special," she teased, her voice warm and affectionate.
Scarlet's smirk turned into a smile, her hand gently brushing Kelly's cheek. "It's not just the words, babe. It's everything about you. Even when you're soft, you've got a strength that no one can ignore."
Kelly's breath hitched for a moment, the sincerity in Scarlet's words hitting her harder than she expected. She leaned into the touch, her voice barely above a whisper. "Maybe that's why you like me."
Scarlet's gaze softened, and she nodded. "It's exactly why I do."
Kelly let out a surprised giggle as Scarlet leaned in so close, the teasing warmth of her breath brushing against her cheek. Scarlet's presence, so commanding and deliberate, made her heartbeat quicken. Kelly tried to push herself up, but Scarlet's subtle movement shifted her balance, and before she knew it, she was on her back, her golden hair splayed across the bed.
Scarlet hovered over her, her arms pressing firmly on either side of Kelly, trapping her against the soft sheets. The playfulness in Scarlet's eyes was undeniable, but there was something else there too—something deeper, stronger, and entirely captivating.
Kelly instinctively brought her hands up, covering her lips as a playful defense. "Scar, no! You're not gonna—" she started, her voice breaking into laughter.
Scarlet tilted her head, her smirk widening into something almost devilish. "Not gonna what?" she asked, her voice low and teasing. She leaned in even closer, so close that Kelly could feel the heat radiating off her. "You know you can't stop me, princess."
Kelly's cheeks flushed a deeper shade of pink as her laughter turned into breathless anticipation. "Scar!" she protested, though her voice lacked any real conviction. Her wide eyes darted between Scarlet's intense gaze and the teasing curve of her lips.
"Shhh," Scarlet murmured, gently catching one of Kelly's hands and pinning it beside her head. "You're too cute when you try to resist." Her free hand lightly brushed a strand of Kelly's hair away, her touch tender despite the intensity of the moment. "I think you know what's about to happen, don't you?"
Kelly squirmed under her, a mixture of nervousness and excitement coursing through her. "Scar," she whispered again, her voice softer this time, as if surrendering to the inevitable.
Scarlet leaned down until their noses were almost touching, her voice dropping to a near whisper. "Say the word, Kelly."
Kelly stared up at her, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she searched Scarlet's eyes. For a moment, she was quiet, caught in the whirlwind of emotions Scarlet always seemed to stir up in her. But then she smiled, her hand reaching up to lightly touch Scarlet's cheek.
"Okay," Kelly said, her voice barely audible.
Scarlet's smirk softened into a genuine smile as she leaned in, her lips finally brushing against Kelly's in a kiss so tender it made Kelly's heart melt. The world around them seemed to fade away, leaving only the warmth of Scarlet's touch and the quiet rhythm of their breaths.
"I never like chuck and blair but: three words, eight letters, say it and I'm yours" Kelly whispered tenderly while brushing scarlet's face
Scarlet froze for a moment, her eyes locking onto Kelly's with a mix of surprise and amusement. "Three words, eight letters?" she repeated, her smirk creeping back. "Did you just quote Gossip Girl at me?"
Kelly rolled her eyes, though her lips twitched into a smile. "I might have," she admitted, shrugging. "But it fits, doesn't it?"
Scarlet tilted her head, leaning in even closer, her voice dropping to that familiar low, teasing tone. "So, if I say it... you're mine? No takebacks, no running, no excuses?"
