"Both father and daughter look tough for the outlook... but, they are DUMMY PIECES " Khushi laughed and Anu joined her.
That was when they heard,
"Oh, really?"
Khushi closed her eyes tight, biting her tongue whereas Anu controlled her laughter folding her lips. Seeing her brother on the doorstep.
Arnav walked in with a teasing smile. Sitting next to Khushi,
"Are we dummy pieces?" Arnav asked.
"When it comes to LOVE you both are so weak, Arnavji... I meant it" Khushi gulped.
"So smart" He smiled.
Arnav saw baby Anu analysing a Barbie doll.
"Wow, my doll is having a doll? Who gave you this baby?" Arnav asked.
Anu crawled to him, dragging the Barbie doll with her.
"Va dha... La" she showed the doll to Arnav.
"This is Barbie doll... Dollll" Arnav taught her.
"Dhaaallll" baby Anu repeated, lifting the doll, clutching its hair.
"Who gave you?"
Baby Anu looked at Anu.
"She understands your words Bhai..." Anu chuckled.
"She does... she is so smart than you think"
"Is it?"
Arnav looked at baby Anu.
"Who is she, beta?" he asked pointing at Anu.
Baby Anu nodded no and said,
"Auuu" pointing at herself, making her mouth like a Cuckoo bird.
Arnav laughed.
"She is so cautious not to give up on her name" Anu laughed.
"She is your Bua..." Arnav said.
"Brrruuuuu" Anu made a sound.
Arnav rolled his eyes smiling.
"Is not she arrogant...?" Arnav said.
"Just like you" Khushi laughed.
"Then she will understand everything" Arnav kissed baby Anu's cheek.
"Give the doll back to Bua," Arnav said.
"Na na" Baby Anu nodded NO hurriedly.
"Then you should call her Bua" he put a demand.
"Buuu..." Baby Anu said.
"So sweet" Anu smiled.
"By the way, how was your shopping?"
"Awesome... Like always" Khushi said.
"Did you get her cheesecake?" Arnav asked Khushi.
Khushi nodded not making face and said,
"The shop was closed"
"She roamed the whole mall in the search of cheesecake, Bhai," Anu said.
"Ok... I will get it for you tomorrow" Arnav said.
Anu rolled her eyes smiling.
"He didn't forget it," Khushi said.
"How could I forget it? She talked for one hour about the cheesecake after having it for the first time" Arnav smiled.
Khushi and Anu spared a glance because it was NK who bought it for Anu for the first time.
"It was so tasty Bhai" Anu smiled.
That was when they heard a knock on the door. They saw NK standing.
"Come in, NK" Arnav said.
NK walked in. There was a cover in his hand. CAKE ZONE had been written on it. He extended it to Anu.
"For you... cheesecake"
Anu got stuck. She looked at Arnav and Khushi. Arnav looked at Khushi contently, like, did he know Anu liked it?
Khushi nodded yes, smiling at him.
"Nanne is the one who introduced the cheesecake to us," Khushi said.
"Oh..."
"Take your seat NK," Arnav said.
"Thanks" NK sat on the couch.
Anu took the attractive bottles out of the cover that had cakes in them. She gave the bottle along with spoons to Khushi and Arnav.
"Give it to NK too," Arnav said.
"That's ok, Arnav... Let her have it" NK said.
"Arrey, I will get her tomorrow... Don't worry" Arnav chuckled.
Anu extended a bottle to NK. NK took it from Anu.
Baby Anu tried to snatch the bottle from Arnav.
"Wait..."
"Anu, come to Mumma..." Khushi called Baby Anu.
"You eat...I will feed her" Arnav said.
Arnav fed her the cake. She tapped her tongue relishing the cake.
"It seems my doll liked the cake just like my sister?" Arnav smiled, keeping the spoon full of cake in his hand.
Baby Anu dragged the spoon into her mouth and ate it.
"Exactly..." Khushi laughed.
"Baby, you should not eat much..."
"She won't listen to you, Arnavji. Just finish it. Or else, she won't be quiet" Khushi said.
"It tastes good, Khushi... How could I finish it fast?" Arnav asked wearily.
"Bhai, however, she is not going to let you eat"
Arnav fed baby Anu and started eating fast. Anu pulled his hand. Arnav showed the empty bottle to her.
"No cake... It's over"
"Eeeee..." Baby Anu whined.
Snatching the bottle from his hand, she threw it with anger. Arnav caught it before it hit the ground.
"What the..."
Baby Anu looked to Khushi who hid the cake bottle hurriedly. She again whined. She stopped crying when Anu forwarded the spoon full of cake to her. She looked at her and then at the cake. Clutching her hand, baby Anu stood up and ate it. In no time Anu lifted her in her arms and fed her the remaining cake.
"Bhai, if you bring this cake tomorrow, give it to me. I will feed it to this little bug" Anu demanded.
"To trap my daughter?" Arnav chuckled.
Anu nodded yes smiling.
The trio's attention turned towards NK as he said,
"I want to talk to you, Arnav"
"Tell me, NK"
NK looked at Anu and said,
"I would like to marry Anu"
Anu was shocked whereas Arnav and Khushi were delighted.
"I love her," NK said.
Arnav was about to say something, but he stopped hearing,
"I'm sorry NK. I'm not in the state to marry anyone" Anu said.
"Even me?"
"Especially you..." She said making them disappointed.
"Mind you tell me why?" NK asked folding his hands.
"I'm not interested to get married"
"Are you going to live in the memories of that rogue?" NK asked angrily.
Anu stood silently. Taking a long step, NK reached Anu and clutched her upper arms.
"Look at me and say, don't you like me?"
Anu bowed down.
"You won't say... You can't... Because you know my love is true..."
Anu didn't dare to meet his eyes.
"Look at me, Anu..." He shouted.
Anu and baby Anu, both jerked.
"Aie..." Baby Anu raised her hand to hit him as she was scared.
Arnav advanced them and took baby Anu from Anu's hand as he wanted them to sort their issue out.
"I'm sorry..." NK said.
"That's ok... Go ahead" Arnav walked out.
Khushi followed him.
"NK, please try to understand"
"What do you want me to understand, Anu?"
"I'm tired, NK... I'm not ready for a relationship"
"Ok... Now, you are not ready... Take your time. I will wait"
"My mind is not up to your expectations, NK"
"You know what, I didn't have expectations when I came to the chamber. I got expectations only after I met you."
Anu looked at him with confusion.
"Don't you remember what you said when you met me in the chamber?"
Anu looked at him bewildered as she could not remember it as she was so vulnerable seeing NK.
"You said, you got the punishment for refusing my love. What did that mean? You were regretting missing me... Are you going to continue like that?"
"I... I was weak at that time"
"Have you become stronger now?"
"I will become..."
"Don't you need me to became stronger?"
Anu was silent.
"I don't know what stops you... Do you think I'm not up to your status?"
"What rubbish?" Anu asked, gritting her teeth.
"If it is not like that then, give me a valuable reason"
"NK, I refused you when I was beautiful... How can I accept you after losing my beauty...? Look at my face..."
Cutting her,
"Is this what your problem is?"
"There are much more..."
"Do you think I will talk about your affair with Abhishek after our marriage?"
Anu sighed.
"Ok...I will talk to your brother..."
"No please..."
"Answer your brother... Refuse him if you can" NK walked out.
He saw Arnav and Khushi sitting with Manorama and Aman in the living room. They looked at him with curiosity.
"Mom, I would like to marry Anu. I want to you take the proposal forward" NK said.
Manorama looked at Arnav.
"Arnav beta, I want your sister as my Bahu. I hope you won't disappoint us"
Arnav looked at Khushi.
"You can tell your decision after talking to your sister," NK said.
Arnav understood that Anu hadn't accepted NK's proposal yet. He saw Anu standing, listening to their talks. Arnav came to her.
"However, I'm going to get you married to someone in some days. If you think we can get a guy better than NK, we will surely wait. But, remember, I won't let you be single for long" Arnav said strictly.
Anu was silent.
"I'm waiting for your reply"
"Give me some time Bhabi"
"Ok... If you hesitate a lot to make a decision, I will make a decision on behalf of you" Arnav didn't stand there after that.
All of them retired to their respective rooms. Arnav was fixed. He didn't want to get compromised in NK's matter. He thought he could not get a good guy like NK for Anu. Khushi was also in the same mindset.
Night
Arnav came to take water as Khushi was making baby Anu sleep. Arnav went to the kitchen and filled the jug with water. When he came out of the kitchen, he stopped listening to someone murmuring. He sharpened his ears and advanced in the direction from where the sound coming. He got stuck as it was none other than NK. He was talking with someone on phone.
"Yes, Anu is alive. I think I should reconsider our plan. I have no choice. it doesn't mean I will leave you. Trust me I will be there for you no matter what"
Arnav frowned. Whom NK was talking with?
"Ok, Rima... we will meet you tomorrow"
Rima? Who was she? Why did NK talk to her secretly? What was the connection between them? Why did he want to meet her? Arnav didn't ask NK about it but decided to follow NK the next day because he wanted to know about the guy who was going to marry his sister.
