The plane landed in LAX at 3:40am and after Mitch collected all his belongings, he called an über.
His eyes were drooping and he was dozing off, but had to keep his eyes open for when he arrived home so he could surprise Scott.
Scott was surely in bed and asleep by now. He hasn't even read Mitch's message so he assumed he was fast sleep like a baby.
The driver pulled up at the apartment complex and Mitch collected his things, handing a few bucks to the driver not even bothering with change.
He was exhausted to say the least, but he had to surprise Scott.
The tired brunette stepped into the elevator and looked at his reflection in the wide mirror. His hair was pulled back in a top knot, a large black jacket hung off his shoulder and his face looked exhausted with faint circles under his eyes.
The elevator dinged and Mitch stepped out, moving down the hallway to his and Scott's apartment.
He unlocked the door with his key that had a lot of keyrings on it and pushed it open with all the energy he had.
As soon as his feet stepped inside the apartment and the familiar smell filled his nostrils, he sighed.
There's no place like home.
He shrugged the coat off his shoulders and threw it on the couch. He kicked off his expensive shoes and shoved them into the pile of shoes in the hallway.
Quickly running to the bathroom, he brushed his teeth and threw off his skinny jeans.
Mitch tiptoed into his and Scott's room in a oversized tee and boxers. He saw Scott's silhouette under the sheets and got into bed, wrapping his arm around his waist and kissing in between his shoulder blades.
He slipped under the covers and noticed Scott's naked glory. He knew that his boyfriend liked sleeping naked and he's grown to liking it.
Mitch nuzzled his nose and kissed his boyfriend's shoulder blades and back causing Scott to stir a little.
"M-Mitchie?" Scott mumbled in his sleep.
"Hey, baby." Mitch whispered.
Scott turned around onto his side so he was facing Mitch and asked,
"Am I dreaming?"
"No, you're not. I'm here."
"How? When? What?" Scott seemed confused and Mitch loved it.
He pecked the tip of Scott's nose and replied,
"I messaged you, but you were asleep. I missed you too much that I cut the trip short."
"But, Mitchie, that trip was so important for you." Scott pouted and brought Mitch into his naked body and embraced him tightly.
He kissed his lips briefly and pulled away, cuddling his boyfriend.
"You're more important than a trip to Paris."
"You're sweet."
"Says you. I'm tired, let's sleep."
"Of course. Goodnight my angel."
"Goodnight my Prince Charming."
Scott chuckled and pulled Mitch into his embrace again and they fell asleep with smiles on their faces.
Mitch woke up the next morning and found Scott's side of the bed empty.
He went into the bathroom to brush his teeth and then walked into the living room. On the floor he found a red rose with a photo attached to it.
It was him and Scott on their first date together as a couple.
A note was written on the back.
I fell in love with you the first time I saw you
Mitch carried on picking up roses of all colors and photos with notes on the back.
He eventually got to the kitchen where he saw Scott standing with his back to him.
Mitch tapped Scott's shoulder and the tall blonde man turned around, holding a bouquet of assorted roses.
"I have one last photograph for you." Scott stated after handing the bouquet to Mitch, who set them in a vase.
"Okay.." Mitch sounded curious.
Scott handed him a white envelope and he slowly opened it. Mitch pulled out the photograph which was slightly bigger than the rest.
It was a professionally taken photograph of them kissing on a bridge and it was taken from afar. Esther had taken it for the 5 year anniversary only recently.
"Check the back." Scott said quickly.
Mitch turned the photograph over and read the note.
Mitchie, will you marry me?
He looked to see Scott kneeling down on one knee with a red velvet box open, bestowing a Cartier ring in white gold with small diamonds lining the middle of it.
"Yes, Scott, I will marry you." At Mitch's answer Scott slipped the ring onto Mitch's ring finger and stood up.
Mitch grabbed Scott's cheeks and pulled him in into a warm, full of emotion kiss. When they pulled apart, Scott noticed the tears trailing down Mitch's defined cheeks.
"Baby, what's wrong?" Scott asked.
"I can't believe you want to spend the rest of your life with me."
"I wouldn't want to spend it with anyone different."
"I can't believe my bestfriend asked me to marry him. God, I love you, Scotty."
"I love you too."
