SCRIPT DEMO : HOW TO BECOME A STAR

Winter is fast approaching, but the friend I've been waiting for hasn't returned. Perhaps it's time to seek "the end of the road" he spoke of; maybe we will reunite there. Yet, I am plagued by doubt. What is the right way to begin this journey? They say the world out there tells a different story will I be able to endure it? How can I be certain that my heart won't waver, that my love for song and my original purpose won't fade into the unknown? I simply don't know.
The animals have begun their migration, especially the birds, flying South to escape the biting frost. They take their songs and melodies with them, leaving behind a world shrouded in snow, bitter cold, and an aching emptiness in my soul. I... I don't know if I should leave. I've turned it over in my mind a thousand times. To leave is to leave the warmth of my parents' love, to depart from the only home I've ever known to start my own story. What if I can't find my way back? What if I fail to pursue the one thing I wasn't born with the song of the birds? Would my parents be disappointed in me?
I find myself wishing I were as intelligent and decisive as my friend; then, perhaps, I would know would know exactly what to do. I stare at the water's surface just before it freezes, watching my blurry reflection and wondering: When will I be ready? With this prickly shell, will the world ever accept a song that doesn't belong to a bird? I stand in long silence, a chaotic storm swirling in my soul, while something deep within me begins to ache and spread through my entire being.
My parents watched me, then called me over to hand me my gear. They told me that I am the crystallization of their love, their most precious gift. They knew I was special from the very moment they fell in love. They told me they wanted me to make the choice my heart truly desires. If I ever miss home or if things go wrong, they will always be here, waiting. "Think of it as a stroll through the world for you to explore," they said. They didn't want to be the barrier that held me back; instead, they wanted to be the sanctuary where I would always find love whenever I returned whenever I felt wronged, defeated, or exhausted. The only thing they could do was believe in me. They believed I could do it, but even if I couldn't, it was okay. They only wished for me to shine as brightly as I could, without a single worry.
I cried so much. I didn't cry because they gave me their permission; I cried because I knew this journey would be long, and I was leaving the safety of their wings to stand on my own. My luggage consists of food, essentials, my parents' love, and this passionate heart these will be my companions throughout the journey. My father said: "Winter is not the end; it is merely the preparation for a new beginning in Spring, the rebirth of the forest." And so it is for me. It is time to go.

Spring has finally arrived. I look at the water, now freed from its icy prison; my reflection is clearer this time. I know it's time to go. The anxiety has faded, replaced by a firm resolve: I will return, and I will find my answers.
I stepped toward the light, leaving my beloved home behind. I followed my bird friends across fragrant forests and vast lands. I met many others and listened to their stories. I realized the world is full of souls like mine different in species, yet bound by shared passions. They taught me so much, and I stumbled often. But on this journey, most encounters were merely fleeting intersections diagonal lines that cross once but never run parallel. Every lesson, every face, felt like a vivid midday dream ethereal, brilliant, yet achingly transient. I've begun to change in ways I don't fully recognize. Am I trying to fit in, or am I truly evolving? My purpose is no longer just about a song; it has grown into something grander. Am I being greedy, or have I found a goal even more distant and magnificent?
Then, I met a very strange friend. I had never seen a creature like him. He was green, like the heart of the forest, but wore a suit of armor as hard as stone. He moved slowly, with a serene grace, like flowers swaying in a breeze or leaves drifting silently in autumn. He told me his name was Turtle. He came from a place where water is endless a vast pool filled only with fish. I wondered if it was just a giant version of the streams I knew. I liked him instantly. He listened in silence while I rambled about my world, but I kept my distance I was afraid my quills might hurt him. Yet, for the first time, I felt a desperate urge to keep someone by my side. The excitement of befriending someone from a different land, just as my parents once did, made me run circles around him in pure joy. He asked where I got all this energy; I didn't know I was just happy
I told him everything I knew and shared the lessons I'd gathered. He pondered deeply, nodding along. We strolled together, and I showed him how to build a fire for warmth. I asked if his "Ocean" was as warm as the flames. He said it depended on one's heart: if you feel warm inside, even the harshest cold is just a bit of a chill. I admired him greatly; he seemed so wise. Looking into his eyes, I saw a fire burning within their reflection. I wondered what his ocean looked like was it vast, with blue waves dancing in the wind? He told me about his quest for the stars. He wanted to reach the moon that light which reflects on the water's surface and shines into the depths of the sea had also shone into his soul. In that moment, he knew he couldn't wait in sorrow any longer. He chose to pursue the answer to his burning heart: When will I become a star? When will I shine like the moon? I found him incredibly brave. Despite his slow pace, his every step was steady and filled with unwavering perseverance.
I shared my secret with him too. I confessed my love for birdsong and how I once longed for wings. But through this journey, that desire transformed. I remembered a story the birds told passed from the seagulls at sea to the forest dwellers about a star that guides the lost: The North Star. They said if you are forced to walk through total darkness with nothing but the sky above, you must rely on the steadfast light of that star to find your way home.
And so, I thought: if I become a constellation, I can sing from the heavens for everyone to hear. I could comfort the lost and be the starlight that guides them. Deep down, I want to be like my old friend I want to be extraordinary enough to show someone the way, to offer advice or a story that ignites the passion in others.

Deep down, I desperately wanted to give him a hug, but I was terrified of hurting my friend. I didn't want him to feel any pain because of me. In the past, I had even tried to blunt my own spines, hoping that by dulling my sharp edges, I wouldn't wound those I wanted to be near. So, to be close to him, I began rubbing my quills against a piece of firewood, trying to soften them. When he asked what I was doing, I explained my fear. Turtle looked at me and said, "You don't have to hurt yourself just to embrace me. My shell is strong enough." But I was still haunted by the thought: "What if I cause you pain anyway?" Turtle simply met my eyes and said, "I trust you."
"You know, Hedgehog," Turtle continued, "happiness is when two souls look in the same direction. It's not just about your effort; it's about whether the other person also wants to close the gap between you. Migratory species like us cross entire oceans just to find warmth and food. There are always conditions to be met, and they don't rest on your shoulders alone. If you struggle by yourself, the road feels infinite. But if two souls or a whole herd move together, the distance shrinks until it no longer feels like a burden. That ease you feel? It comes from the motivation at the other end. That's how you know you're on the right path, moving forward."
It clicked then the realization that for a bond to flourish, the will must come from both sides. Why hadn't I seen this sooner? Had I been intentionally forgetting it just to cling to my old relationships? I felt like I still wasn't "grown-up" enough to understand it all. If you run toward the end of a road alone, all you might find is emptiness an illusion of the other person you painted in your mind, while in reality, there is nothing but your own shadow on the rain-soaked ground.
I asked him if he thought I was foolish. He just shook his head and said, "Now you know. You've shared so much with me; I just happened to know this part first. Now, we are the same." I looked at him, dazed, then glanced at the dying fire. Fueled by his words and a sudden burst of joy, I jumped up to gather more wood to keep him warm. In my haste, my hand accidentally brushed against the flames. It hurt so much! I cried out and rolled around in circles, terrified I'd turn into a lump of black charcoal, just like the horror stories I'd heard.
Turtle was startled by the danger of the fire. I told him that if a fire isn't put out in time, it could swallow us, the forest, and every beautiful thing here, turning everything into a permanent Autumn. It would take forever for Spring to return. In those moments, people pray for a sudden downpour before things go beyond saving. Usually, people run for cover when it rains, but when the world is burning, they look at the clouds with eyes full of hope and longing. I always wonder: Do people truly love the rain, or do they just love what it can do? Or maybe they just love the feeling of being near it? I, for one, love the rain. When it rains, my tears blend with the water, and no one can tell I'm crying. I can play and run in the rain, knowing a warm, hot meal awaits me afterward.
Turtle and I huddled close to keep each other warm as the fire slowly faded. The only light left was the tapestry of stars above us. I knew that one day, my friend and I would shine just like them. I wanted to keep him by my side forever. I'm scared of the dark; I've heard stories of "white shadows" that roam these parts, snatching anyone left on the road. I promised myself I'd protect Turtle from those shadows... but I'm so sleepy now. Perhaps I'll figure out the protecting part tomorrow.
