Silence Night Killer (Eng) (OUTDATED)
Chapter 14
There were still a few more weeks until the exam, it was so exhausting.
Review exams, then go to sell goods, then go slash people. How miserable.
Kiyo didn't have much motivation, because he was always in such a miserable spiral. It's been a long time since he heard a word that energizes him until he learned about programming. It has been and is becoming a joy for Kiyo, also thanks to Sunny's words last time:
"There's also an exam for this subject. It seems that the exam will be done at the end of this month. Come on, do your best okay?"
Just three positive words do your best from someone was enough for Kiyo to calm down and focus on his studies and passion.
But to do the best for the upcoming exam is not an easy thing. Kiyo had resigned from his job with his boss, but he still went to work selling goods on weekends. Fortunately, he agreed.
A week before the exam, students are given seven days off, to prepare everything.
Right now, it's raining quite heavily outside. In a relatively large room, Kiyo had turned on the lamp, and was filled with books.
There was only silence apart from the drizzle of rain and the rustle of a ballpoint pen.
He opened the door, but only opened it a little because the rain was so loud right now.
Suddenly there was a rattle outside. The sound of bicycles moving, but sounded very strange.
Kiyo was panicked, thinking that a thief is going to break the lock, and this area is often stolen. He grabbed the knife, stood up, and opened the door:
"Who's that?!"
Contrary to Kiyo's expectations, the person outside the gate was not a robber, but his friend - Sunny. He is holding a bicycle, but it seems to be broken. And his whole body was soaked.
"Sunny.."
"Sorry, suddenly my bike broke down like this.. And I don't have a raincoat."
Kiyo panicked, ran out, ignoring the rain, and opened the gate:
"Geez, it's easy to catch a cold outside like this, you won't be able to take the exam if you're sick! Just go inside, and make yourself at home. I'll study this bike later. And you have to change your clothes too."
Sunny just mumbled yeah and let Kiyo lead the annoying bike into the yard, and leave it under a roof. But Sunny did not enter the house.
"What's wrong? Come in, you'll get sick." - Kiyo led his friend into the house.
He pointed to the next room and said:
"My clothes are in the other closet. Maybe a little too big for you, but it's comfortable. You can borrow them."
Sunny slowly pulled the door to the room, and opened the closet. He picked out the ones that seemed to suit him best, and pulled them out, forgot to close it.
Leaving the room, he looked at Kiyo with a look like he was wondering about something. Kiyo caught a glimpse of that look, and nervously pointed to the right:
"The bathroom is over there and probably warm water too, come on in."
And Kiyo continued to dive into boring books, a little embarrassed on his face.
Sunny too, walked quickly to the other way.
To be honest, Kiyo never let anyone borrow any of his rooms. But now the opposite has happened, which is a boy. It's not that he's more comfortable about girls borrowing his room, he just doesn't like it, regardless of gender.
About ten minutes later, Sunny came out of the bathroom. No longer wearing his wet uniform, but instead a brown hoodie and black pants, and a towel on his shoulders.
Kiyo glanced at his friend, stunned. Sunny was surprised, stammering, and asked:
"Um...I don't suit with this outfit?"
"No no, it's fine!" - Kiyo waved his hand.
Even though he's wearing his clothes, why does Sunny look... so cute right now? He looks like a girl. That reaction and thought flashed through Kiyo's mind, causing Kiyo to put his hand on his forehead, looking very baffled.
Come on, don't let that damn emotion take over.. Calm down, he's a guy...
Sunny was putting a question mark on him, so Kiyo could only say one sentence:
"If you want, you can sit down..."
The briefcase lying on the floor was picked up by Sunny, and he sat in front of Kiyo.
"Where did you go?"
"I was going to school. Just doing some extra work with the computer."
"Even if it's raining like this?"
Sunny nodded. That's right, he loved that subject so much that he defied the weather just to go to school and work on the program. Kiyo feels worried for him, and does Sunny have his parent's permission?
Kiyo asked about it, but Sunny dodged the question and switched to the exam:
"You're studying, right?
"Isn't that obvious?"
"It sounds a bit rude but... I want to study with you too."
What? Study together?
Do we have to study together now? Isn't it better to study alone?
"You know, self-study is also good. But like programming, cooperation in learning is essential. Studying together, reviewing together effectively, isn't there an immediate benefit?"
Sunny's verbal expression was a bit odd, but Kiyo found this to be okay. He preferred to study with his close friends rather than simply being in the same class, so he agreed to the proposal.
After that, they spent the afternoon studying together.
A while later, Sunny asked again:
"Hey, my house is far away, and my bike is broken, if you don't mind then..."
Sunny hesitated.
Kiyo curiously asked:
"And?"
"Can you... let me stay for a few days? Honestly, I.. don't really like being at home."
Kiyo sighed, propping his chin. He needed a few seconds to decide.
"If you don't want to, I can walk home..."
Not letting Sunny finish the sentence, Kiyo asserted:
"No, you should stay. You know there are thieves in this area, it's dangerous to go alone."
Sunny's eyes lit up, nervously asking:
"Really?!"
"Yeah."
"Thank you." - The boy picked up the pen again and continued to write on the pages.
In the evening, Kiyo temporarily cooked a simple meal, at least quality enough. And surprisingly, for the first time, he was praised for his delicious and skillful cooking.
Perhaps Kiyo was taught at the orphanage, but he didn't want to say it. Because that's where he had to go to kill people like this, even though he was still grateful to his nanny Yuri - who taught him.
Even so, he now had a friend who is worth helping, supporting, and being by his side.
They both studied together, ate the same meals, and slept in the same bed. Day by day.
Perhaps this is the time when Kiyo feels most comfortable in his life.
At least with him now.
