7-May break my bones
In summer, 1999, Yoongi enrolled in elementary school.
Namjoon's parents had picked him and his parents up with their big car and all of them walked onto the school ground together for the first time.
The welcoming ceremony happened so fast, Yoongi was a bit confused when it was over.
The headmaster greeted them, higher classes welcomed them, they made a tour through the school, and shortly after, they needed to say goodbye to their parents for a while. They'd join them later again.
Until then they had time to get to know the other kids.
Excitement made Yoongi's body tingle and he felt nervous. He wondered if he'd make new friends or if it would end up like in kindergarten.
At least this time, he had Namjoon.
Luckily, both of them were in the same class.
Their class teacher seemed nice.
Mrs. Song was a young lady and very soft-spoken. She had the most melodic voice Yoongi ever heard. The skin around her eyes crinkled up when she smiled at them and Yoongi thought it looked very pretty. He felt comfortable around her.
Their classroom was quite big. Several tables stood in pairs inside of the room and Mrs. Song announced, that they could pick their seats by themselves.
Before Namjoon and Yoongi could get separated, his friend pulled him to the front and saved them seats for both of them.
Yoongi remembered that their parents had told them to sit in the front and Yoongi felt proud that they were able to do that.
They sat down and Yoongi looked around in the white room. It looked so clean.
When they passed by other classes, there were posters and pictures of other kids on the wall. It looked so domestic and Yoongi could imagine staying there all day. He wondered if they'd also hang up pictures and make their classroom colorful.
"Can I sit here?", a boy with a red backpack asked them, standing by the table behind Yoongi.
Yoongi turned around in his seat, and even Namjoon looked back.
"Yes, you can.", Yoongi said softly and nodded before the boy smiled at him brightly and sat down his backpack on the table.
"I'm Bogum.", he said while he still stood beside his seat. "My friends are all in another class."
Namjoon hummed and stood up from his seat to walk over to Bogum.
"You can be friends with us. I'm Namjoon.", he offered and then looked over to Yoongi.
"I'm Yoongi.", Yoongi mumbled but didn't leave his seat like Namjoon.
Bogum nodded happily and raised his hands. "Yes, let's be friends."
Yoongi was baffled by Bogum's straightforwardness. He didn't expect to find a new friend so easily, so Yoongi slowly started to smile.
"I thought for a moment you couldn't smile.", Bogum said suddenly and Yoongi's smile died down the tiniest bit again. He wasn't sure what the boy meant.
"I was wondering if you were weird.", Bogum continued and Yoongi looked away.
Somehow this reminded him of Hoseok asking if he was a ghost.
Immediately, Yoongi started to nibble his bottom lip and didn't know how to feel about Bogum sitting behind him.
"Yoongi isn't weird.", Namjoon said firmly. "He's shy."
Namjoon's words didn't really lift Yoongi's mood. He was still chewing on his bottom lip while he turned to the front again. He just hoped Bogum wouldn't make another comment. Because maybe Yoongi would spill the tears which were burning behind his eyes.
Within a couple of steps, Bogum was besides Yoongi and tried to look at his face.
"Don't be angry at me. I'm sorry.", Bogum said and patted Yoongi's head, a bit roughly, but it didn't hurt. "My mommy always tells me to watch my mouth but I think I'm not good at it. You look cute when you smile."
Yoongi blushed a little at Bogum's last comment and dropped his gaze until his bangs were covering most of his face. His eyes weren't burning anymore, but his cheeks were.
"Yoongi is my best friend. Don't make silly comments about him.", Namjoon said and Yoongi saw Bogum's feet shuffle beside him.
"I promise.", Bogum said and Yoongi looked up slowly.
He didn't know if Bogum really wouldn't bully him but when the boy looked at him with the brightest smile, he couldn't imagine that he wouldn't stand by his words.
A glance towards Namjoon gave Yoongi a secure feeling. His friend was also smiling.
"Thank you.", Yoongi mumbled and Bogum blinked at him. "For apologizing.", he added and shrugged.
Bogum seemed surprised for a split second but then Mrs. Song told them to go back to their seats. Another girl slipped into the seat besides Bogum.
They parted without another word and Mrs. Song gave everyone a table name tag while she announced every single one from the class list.
They were quite a lot. Yoongi couldn't count how many. Not even Namjoon. But everyone seemed very kind and curious to meet their classmates.
All their parents came back just in time to their introduction.
Everybody needed to tell their name, their age and what their favorite animal was.
Yoongi finally decided that the pufferfish was his favorite animal for now. Namjoon still liked penguins and Bogum said his favorite was the lion.
At first, Yoongi has been tense but now that he heard everyone speak, he was a bit calmer than before.
Their first day passed quickly. They were allowed to get sweets from the convenience store afterwards and they shared with Bogum while his parents met their parents.
By the end of the day, Yoongi felt comfortable around Bogum. He was funny and made him laugh quite a lot.
He couldn't wait to go to school the next day.
Yoongi never thought he'd find another friend like Namjoon again.
Of course he didn't forget about Seunghee, Yerim and Youngjae, but they barely saw each other. Yoongi had the feeling he was drifting away from them.
But at least Bogum, Namjoon and Yoongi created a great new bond.
They always stuck together in their breaks. They also met Bogum's friends from kindergarten in the other class but somehow the boy decided to stick to them instead.
He always brought sweets to school and at first Yoongi snacked every day but when he started to get belly aches and confessed to his mother that he was eating sweets at school, she told him to stop and to only eat sweets on special occasions.
Bogum still left bonbons in Yoongi's desk at school sometimes.
They started to talk about the TV shows they liked, their favorite snacks and their favorite teachers.
Currently, Bogum really liked their music teacher. He always played with them on the xylophone and sang songs.
Meanwhile, Namjoon liked their math teacher who was very funny.
But Yoongi's favorite was still Mrs. Song who was just always so gentle at anything she did. Even when she was telling Yoongi that he needed to try a little harder in her Korean class, it didn't feel too bad.
Just when he saw that Namjoon and Bogum always got smiley faces on their papers, instead of the blooming flower Yoongi got, he had a weird feeling.
Bogum always told him not to worry and that he was probably just better at other things.
Yoongi didn't know about that. Especially when Bogum seemed to be so good at many different things.
One afternoon they were helping to clean their classroom and were almost done when Bogum asked something odd.
"My friends and I played pretend last weekend.", Bogum mentioned once everyone was leaving.
Yoongi was helping Namjoon to get his backpack on his back so they could meet his mother outside.
"And I was playing the Alpha daddy. Who would you be? The Alpha or the Omega?"
Namjoon and Yoongi looked at each other a bit confused.
Yoongi knew his daddy was an Alpha and his mommy was an Omega.
They didn't talk about why it was like this though. Yoongi had never been interested in it before.
"I don't know.", Yoongi mumbled and started to chew his bottom lip.
"How do you not know? Who do you like most? Your mommy or your daddy?"
Bogum's questions started to make Yoongi uncomfortable. He liked both his parents equally. Why would he need to choose?
"I don't know.", Yoongi repeated truthfully and Bogum tilted his head a bit sideways. He seemed confused.
"But if you don't know, you will end up as a worthless Beta."
Just when Bogum said those words, Yoongi thought about Taehyung's Beta daddy. Yoongi never thought he was worthless and he has been a very kind man overall. Why would he be worthless?
Yoongi pressed his lips together. He didn't like this conversation. He thought of a way to escape the situation, and then suddenly, Namjoon spoke up.
"We don't play pretend like this."
Bogum and Namjoon looked at each other and then Bogum shrugged before he turned around and started to leave the classroom. "Okay.", he simply said and didn't mention it anymore.
Namjoon and Yoongi only looked at each other briefly before they exit the classroom and walked along the hallway, saying bye to their classmates before they walked downstairs and out of the building towards Namjoon's mom.
She was standing by the entry and hugged Namjoon when he ran into her arms. She also stroke Yoongi's hair and stroke over his cheeks with the back of her hand.
"Yoongi, why do you look so worried?", she asked and then also looked at Namjoon, hoping that her son would maybe tell her what was wrong because Yoongi only shook his head.
There was an odd silence between all of them before Namjoon finally revealed what troubled them.
"Bogum talked rudely about Beta's today.", he said and looked down as if he was the one who needed to feel guilty.
His mother hummed and then rubbed his back.
"What did he say?", she asked, carefully.
"He said that they were playing pretend and that they needed to choose in between playing Alpha or Omega.", Namjoon explained the situation and his mother nodded encouraging.
"And then he asked us what we would choose and when Yoongi told him he didn't know, he said he'd end up a worthless beta."
Once Namjoon finished, his mother was a bit speechless. She looked over to Yoongi and pulled him closer so she could pull him to her side. She rubbed along Yoongi's arm and sighed.
"Where did Bogum learn this?", she asked but Yoongi and Namjoon only shrugged because they really didn't know. Maybe his friends told him.
Namjoon's mother sighed and patted Namjoon's bottom.
"Let's drive home. I think your parents should talk with you about that. Don't worry.", she said to Yoongi before she squeezed him one more time and then walked both of them to her car.
Yoongi didn't feel good when they dropped him off at home and Namjoon's mother talked to his parents.
Afterwards they were a bit more silent than usual.
His mother was cooking quietly and his father was helping a bit more with his homework than usually.
But once he was done and packed his bag for the next day, he felt an odd tension he didn't feel for quite a while now.
When he walked back to the kitchen table, his mother placed glasses on the table and set the table.
He climbed his seat and finally sat down when his dad also sat down.
"Yoongi, Namjoon's mom told us what Bogum happened to say to you today."
Instantly Yoongi looked over to his mother for support and she smiled at him gently - still, Yoongi started to swayed his legs nervously.
He looked back to his dad who seemed to search for the right words.
"Can I choose if I want to be an Alpha or an Omega?", Yoongi suddenly asked. He still didn't know exactly what it meant to be an Alpha, Beta or Omega.
Both his parents were obviously surprised when he asked this.
His dad looked shocked even and then his parents exchanged glances before his mother spoke.
"Pup, can you explain again what happened?"
Yoongi averted his eyes. He felt weird that his parents took this so seriously. Of course Yoongi also felt uneasy about it but wasn't Bogum also just playing?
Still, he wanted his parents to know. So he started to tell his parents about Bogum and his friends playing pretend.
"And then Bogum asked us what we wanted to be- ", Yoongi stuttered a couple 'ahm's and 'uhm's before he could continue, "and he told us that we'd need to choose or we'd end up as worthless Betas."
Just when Yoongi finished, a deep sigh escaped his dad and his mother finally also sat down besides Yoongi.
Feeling his parents dismay made Yoongi want to shrink into himself.
"Baby, Beta's are not worthless. Your daddy and I are working with many of them and they are very passionate and kind. And it doesn't matter what you choose because that is not something you can decide."
"I can not?", Yoongi asked and looked up to his mother with curious eyes.
She shook her head and stroke through Yoongi's hair.
"But it's nothing bad. We will see when it's time."
"When will I know?", Yoongi wanted to know when it was time but his parents just smiled.
"When you are older.", his mother said and her answer left him just as unsatisfied as all the other times she was telling him this.
Yoongi worried his bottom lip which already hurt from all the times he chewed on it today.
"What if I want to be a firefighter instead?", he finally asked.
Both his parents were silent before his dad huffed a laugh and his mother giggled and pressed her lips on top of Yoongi's head where she left a kiss.
"Then you are going to be a firefighter.", she said and also gave Yoongi a kiss on the cheeks.
She then stood up and walked over to the stove where the soup was boiling strongly.
"Yoongi, I don't know where Bogum learned that Beta's are worthless but remember that they are not. Your second gender isn't as important as society wants you to believe."
Yoongi didn't really understand what his father wanted to say so he looked over to his mother who already giggled because of his confused gaze.
"He means that everyone should be equal. You can tell that Bogum, will you?"
When Yoongi nodded, he was determined to tell Bogum that.
He felt better now. He was scared he was alone with his feelings at first. But then he knew there was nothing to be scared of.
When Yoongi met Bogum the next day in school, he told him right away that Yoongi didn't like what Bogum had say the day before and that he thought everyone should be treated equally.
At first Yoongi thought Bogum would argue with him but after a while he nodded and seemed to accept it.
Then he apologized and told Yoongi that he was right.
Yoongi and Namjoon didn't talk about it anymore. But that day in school Yoongi thought that Beta's were great!
Maybe he wanted to be a Beta instead of a firefighter.
During that year of school, Yoongi grew pretty close to Namjoon and Bogum.
Yoongi even tried to make friendship bracelets for them.
He made several mistakes in them but his friends assured him that they were cute and just perfect. It really was an adventure to do them. Yoongi needed to concentrate a lot and fumbled with the threads four hours. He almost gave up doing them, but luckily, he didn't.
Now all of them had them around their right wrist and showed them off happily.
Yoongi was now secure in their friendship and wasn't scared anymore to do or say something wrong.
Bogum was finally able to see his playful side.
Yoongi knew he could voice his opinion without someone calling him weird or teasing him about it now.
Bogum would never do that. Sometimes he only tried to get to the bottom of Yoongi's thoughts. But it was always in a very kind and gentle way.
Besides, Yoongi knew Namjoon would always stick to him. No matter what.
They always defended each other, made sure they'd get to know their friends if they made any new ones, and one day, Namjoon even gifted Yoongi a friendship bracelet just between both of them.
At first, Bogum seemed a bit jealous that they had another bracelet without him but after a while he forgot about it.
Usually, they met every Saturday and sometimes under the week, when some parent could drive them.
Bogum's place was very small. His whole family lived in a flat and Bogum needed to share a room with his sister. She often slept over at their parents' room when Namjoon and Yoongi were over.
Therefore, he was the one who stayed at Namjoon's or Yoongi's place for their playdates.
They met for pool parties in summer, baked cookies in autumn, made snow angels in winter, and played football during spring.
Everyone in school knew they were best friends, and they always thought of the three of them as one group.
But Yoongi always felt like there was still a stronger connection with Namjoon. Sometimes he thought they could read each other's minds.
So time flew like that and Yoongi finished his first year in elementary school.
2000, 25. July - summer break
Usually, Yoongi would have sleepovers every second month. They switched places every time and they brought snacks with them which they shared.
Yoongi usually brought cookies and today he spent half an hour in front of the cookie aisle. He wanted to buy more expensive ones this time. He heard Bogum talk about a certain brand and he was so happy when he finally found them. They had a caramel filling and Bogum loved everything that was sticky with sweets.
This day, Yoongi and Namjoon couldn't stay overnight.
Bogum would drive away with his parents to the beach and therefore the boys couldn't stick around until morning. At least they'd see each other before also Namjoon and then Yoongi would go on vacations.
Besides, today was very special.
Today the friends of Bogum would come over as well. Bogum said he wanted to invite friends who'd soon go into first grade at their school. Apparently he played with them on weekends sometimes.
At first Yoongi didn't like the idea. He reached the point where he didn't like to share his friends. But he remembered how open-minded Namjoon always was and the friendship bracelet around his wrist remembered him that there was no reason for him to be so insecure.
So Yoongi was actually very excited to meet Bogum's other friends.
When he stepped into the flat and got a kiss from his mommy before she bid goodbye and when Bogum's mother offered Yoongi something to drink, he felt happy.
He looked around for Bogum, but he only heard him talk and laugh in his room.
Yoongi took the glass of apple juice Bogum's mom gave him and walked into Bogum's room.
His backpack was about to slip off his shoulder and he was about to pull it back up, when he froze in the doorway.
This couldn't be.
In the middle of the room, sitting around a bunch of snacks and Pokèmon cards, sat Yoongi's worst nightmare.
Hoseok's laughter died down when he noticed him.
Suddenly, the others turned around and looked at him.
He then noticed Jiae and Minjun staring back at him and two other kids Yoongi didn't know. They weren't from his kindergarten.
Yoongi froze and clenched the glass in his hand with both hands.
He wanted to escape the room instantly but Bogum ran up to him.
"Yoongi, you are here! I'm happy.", he said and pulled Yoongi further into the room. Yoongi almost spilled a bit of his apple juice which is why he took a sip of it before he placed it on the table nearby.
He then sat on the floor close to Bogum and the furthest away from the others.
He didn't say anything while Bogum explained that they were exchanging Pokèmon cards currently.
Of course, Yoongi also brought his. But he had just a few ones. Mostly the couple ones Namjoon gifted him and the ones he was able to buy with his pocket money. But he barely bought cards, he'd rather buy gifts for his friends instead.
So he pulled out his own a bit nervously. He noticed that his hands were shaking a bit too.
Hoseok was still eyeing him. His stare was intense and he was still frowning.
Yoongi was somehow excited to see Hoseok again but then again, he thought that whatever happened in kindergarten was behind him. And now it was catching up to him.
Bogum grabbed his cards and compared them with others. They discussed which one was prettier and Yoongi watched them nervously while they started to mix his cards with theirs.
Somehow this made Yoongi nervous. He felt restless and slowly his body seemed to heat up. He was uncomfortable.
He didn't want Minjun to touch his cards or Jiae to make comments about his 'ugly cards' while Bogum only laughed.
"Why are you wearing slippers?", one of the other kids pointed out and eyed Yoongi's feet.
He still couldn't run around barefoot.
Of course, he was always last and there were many discussions and tears at school whenever their sports teacher wanted them to go barefoot, but Yoongi couldn't. He just couldn't because he was too afraid to step into something sharp again.
Everyone else was either with socks or without them.
Yoongi couldn't find proper words so he stammered around and tried to search for help from Bogum but he was busy assembling a perfect team.
"He's just weird.", Hoseok suddenly said, making Yoongi choke.
He held his breath when he looked back at Hoseok and then over to the new kid that eyed him a bit unsure now.
Panic started to rise in Yoongi. He couldn't help it.
"Yoongi, did you bring snacks?", Bogum asked and finally averted his attention to Yoongi.
Hopefully Namjoon would show up soon.
Yoongi zipped his backpack open and pulled out the pack of cookies which he handed to Bogum then.
"Oh wow! You brought my favorites. That's great.", he said happily and opened the package right away to get one cookie out.
Yoongi thought he might be able to talk to Bogum now. So he opened his mouth and asked, "When will Namjoon- " , but suddenly Bogum's mom called for her son and Bogum raised to his feet.
"Coming.", Bogum yelled and then stepped over the snacks before he disappeared out of the room.
Yoongi stared after him.
The whole mood in the room changed then. It was pressing Yoongi down so much, he wondered if he could even breathe.
He looked down at all the snacks and just waited. Waited for anything to happen. He didn't dare to look at anyone. And he didn't dare to leave the room as well.
He just wanted to disappear.
When Bogum talked about his cool friends, Yoongi never imagined it to be them.
"You are still so weird.", Minjun finally spoke and Yoongi wasn't even surprised to hear it.
"I don't want to go to the same school as him.", Jiae added and Yoongi pouted at her comment.
Yoongi shouldn't have been so scared. He was in second class soon and they would be the new kids. But he also knew that it meant little to nothing to them.
So there was no way he could be brave.
"Why is Bogum even friends with you. Did you jinx him?", Hoseok asked and Yoongi looked up immediately. He wanted to shake his head but his whole body froze when he saw Hoseok's odd gaze.
He looked at Yoongi as if he was an alien.
Yoongi's throat was burning and he almost sighed when the front door rang.
Finally, Namjoon would show up and he saw how Bogum ran past his room to the front door.
Yoongi also wanted to stand up but suddenly the others rose to their feet and Yoongi felt small again. So he stayed put.
"Better don't eat his cookies. They are jinxed too.", Hoseok said and pushed the package away with the foot until it fell and all the cookies rolled out of the package onto the floor.
Yoongi stared at the cookies a bit shocked and didn't even look the others when they all left the room.
Instead, Yoongi started to pick up the cookies again and now he noticed that many of them had fuzz on them from Bogum's play carpet.
Yoongi stopped and looked at the cookies with tears in his eyes.
He bought them for Bogum and now he probably didn't want to eat them anymore.
Yoongi was angry but also powerless. He just felt exhausted.
He heard Namjoon's mother talk to Bogum's mom a bit longer before Namjoon stepped into Bogum's bedroom.
"Yoongi! I brought chips.", Namjoon's familiar voice said. "They are all in the living room. What are you doing?"
And just when Namjoon came closer, Yoongi looked up.
He couldn't really see his friend. His sight was blurred and tears kept coming.
Just when Yoongi blinked, they rolled down his cheeks.
"Mommy!", Namjoon yelled immediately and ran up to Yoongi.
"Why are you crying?", Namjoon asked and patted Yoongi's back while he placed the chips in the middle of all the snacks.
Namjoon's mother was beside them at an instant and pulled Yoongi into her arms.
"What happened? Why are you crying?", she asked while she helped Yoongi to clear his vision. She stroke over his cheeks and tried to catch his big tears with her thumb.
Yoongi gasped for air while Namjoon's mother tried to calm him down.
He now was able to make out Bogum and his mother in the doorway. The other kids were trying to take a glimpse at him so Yoongi turned around and buried his face in her shoulder.
He didn't want them to see him cry again.
"I wanna go home.", he sobbed and Namjoon's mother sighed. She rubbed Yoongi's back and told Namjoon to collect Yoongi's stuff before she stood up and kept holding Yoongi in her arms.
He clung to her and tried to make himself look as small as possible.
Namjoon's mother apologized and left with him and Namjoon. They changed Yoongi's slippers for shoes in her car and just then Yoongi calmed down a bit.
Once he wasn't crying out loud anymore, Namjoon's mother asked about it again but this time Namjoon spoke.
"Was it because of Hoseok?", he asked and Yoongi nodded. Nothing else was said on the ride and Yoongi's parents were also careful when they talked to him about it later on.
That night Yoongi slept in his parents' bed again.
During the whole summer break, Bogum didn't call Yoongi.
He once tried to reach out to Namjoon, but even then Namjoon told Bogum that they couldn't be friends if he was with Hoseok and his friends.
So Bogum didn't call again.
In the end it was Namjoon and Yoongi again.
Yoongineeded a couple of days to recover from the shock. Besides, he now needed to figure out how to avoid Hoseok in school.
They often met other kids from the second grade because their classrooms were on the same floor as theirs.
Namjoon promised to protect him, but he wasn't sure if Namjoon could do it.
Still, he was thankful.
Yoongi was also worried about Bogum. He didn't want to lose a friend. He liked Bogum.
But Namjoon told him that friends would stick up for him no matter what instead of listening to lies.
So from this day on it was only Namjoon and Yoongi again.
For his second year in school, Yoongi was a bit scared.
Luckily they barely had any contact with Hoseok and the others at the ceremony. Actually Yoongi only saw them briefly.
So his anxiety quickly faded into excitement when they entered their new classroom.
They got new seats. This time Mrs. Song decided for them.
Namjoon was now further away from him. He sat close to the front with a couple of other students.
Yoongi sat in the back next to the door.
He noticed, that their tables now stood separately and one more empty table was in the room. It stood behind Namjoon, and Yoongi wondered what purpose it had. Maybe the teacher would tell them soon.
Bogum sat on the window side. He didn't speak to Namjoon or Yoongi yet. He didn't even walk near them.
The others didn't stop talking to them but still, Yoongi sat alone on his table without anyone stopping to talk to him.
Namjoon and Yoongi figured they wouldn't do anything about the situation. They'd eventually talk to each other again one day. Yoongi tried not to think about it too much now.
He sorted out his books and wrote down his name on his notebooks. This year Yoongi wanted to study well again. He wanted to make nice notes and use pretty colors.
Namjoon even gifted him stickers in the morning.
He now peeled off one sticker from the foil and put it on his math notebook.
"Yoongi, let's ask my mommy if we can get sweets after school.", Namjoon drew Yoongi's attention to him.
They went so many times to the convenience store on the other side of the street, sometimes the owner gave Namjoon and Yoongi free candy.
"You think she will take us?", Yoongi asked and Namjoon nodded while he picked up the sheet of stickers Yoongi used before.
were kitten related and Yoongi used the one with a sock because Yoongi thought math stank just like his dad's old socks sometimes.
"I also saw one with dogs.", Namjoon said and placed the sticker sheet back on Yoongi's desk. "I will bring it tomorrow."
Yoongi nodded happily and was also excited. He couldn't wait for Namjoon to show him the cute dog sticker.
Suddenly, the door to their classroom opened and Mrs. Song stepped in. She waited for a boy to walk in before she closed the door again.
Both walked up to the teacher's desk before Mrs. Song grabbed a chalk from her chalk box and started to write on the board.
Namjoon walked to his own seat again and sat down.
Yoongi's eyes wandered to the boy in the front. The last chatter died done once Mrs. Song finished writing the boy's name at the board and placed down the chalk.
"Today we are welcoming a new student in our class.", Mrs. Song said while she placed a hand on the boy's shoulder.
Yoongi tried to take a look at the boy's face, but he looked downwards and seemed really nervous.
"Seokjin's family moved back to Korea a while ago but he grew up in America."
Almost everyone started to chatter but Yoongi only looked at Namjoon when he turned around and searched for Yoongi with his eyes.
They never met someone from America.
"Please be kind to him, he might take some time to get used to this environment. Besides, his Korean is not the best so please be patient."
Yoongi wondered if he could talk to Seokjin. The boy didn't look as if he'd talk to anyone really. His lips were pressed together when Mrs. Song kneeled down beside him and encouraged him to greet his new class.
"Hello. I'm Seokjin.", he said finally. The words thin and a bit broken. Slowly his ears started to turn red.
Some kids were giggling.
Mrs. Song helped Seokjin over to the table behind Namjoon and talked to him in English. Yoongi recognized the tune because of all the cassette Namjoon and him listened to but Yoongi couldn't understand it.
Seokjin nodded at her and started to unpack his backpack.
Yoongi saw Namjoon smiling at Seokjin before he turned back to the front when Mrs. Song started with the class.
Yoongi couldn't wait for the bell to ring. He wondered if Namjoon wanted to talk to Seokjin.
Still, Yoongi didn't really know if he was ready to make a new friend yet.
