Pity. Yes, that is the word. I felt pity for the little spider demon. Kibutsuji is a monster... That boy was so young, he didn't look a day over eight, though I knew he was much older than that. How dare Kibutsuji do such a thing? My pity turned into anger, and my anger turned into relief, for the boy was finally at rest.
People believe that there is a heaven and hell after death. That is true. They go to one of those places for a certain amount of time before being reincarnated in a new body. I did not send the boy nor his parents to hell. He was misguided. He shall go to heaven.
Regarding Tanjiro and Nezuko, they were sent to be put on trial, though, because of my words, they were persecuted. I was at the Butterfly Mansion at the same time that he and his friends were brought there. I wished to speak with all of them.
So when Tanjiro had finished settling in his room with the others, I stood from my place in the courtyard and went inside to where they were. I slid the door open, grinning when I saw their faces.
"Hello," I said, successfully grabbing their attention.
"You're Grace!" Tanjiro yelped.
He tried to get out of bed, but he winced. I put a gentle hand on his arm to stop him.
"Please don't try to get out of bed. You are injured. You need as much rest as you can get to heal."
I looked at the other two. The one with the yellow hair, Agatsuma Zenitsu, looked at me with wide eyes and his jaw dropped. The one with the boar head, Hashibira Inosuke, didn't look at me, instead looking at the wall with a defeated air to him.
"These are your friends, I take it?" I said, sitting in a nearby chair.
Tanjiro nodded, having perked up significantly.
"And where is Nezuko?"
"She's asleep, You're Grace."
I hummed and glanced at the door before looking back at Tanjiro.
"Well, I wanted to tell you when you were uninjured, but I fear if I wait, you'll leave without me being able to tell you. I'm sure you've been told that you're special, Tanjiro. You and Nezuko both. I have given you two my blessing. I know that, in the near future, you both will be the key to defeating Kibutsuji. And that's why I wish to join you on your travels."
