As soon as morning arrived, I left my marui in an attempt to avoid Lo'ak. I also didn't want to run into Aonung or Tsireya, either, since I'm not sure if they could be trusted.

...

Last night... Was Aonung trying to do tsaheylu with me? My face unconsciously turned a soft shade of purple as I walked along the shore.

"[NAME]!" A voice called out to me, knocking me out of my trance.

I quickly looked back and, to my relief, saw Spider.

"Spider! Don't scare me like that!" I laughed.

"Sorry, sorry," he chuckled, "I just wanted to ask you something. Would you mind showing me around this place? Neteyam is still hurt, Kiri already went off somewhere, and Lo'ak is in a bad mood."

"Of course! I was looking for something to do, anyway!"

With my mind taken off of last night, I showed him around the village for a bit before going to where the others and I were taken when we first arrived here: the ocean. I don't think he'll be able to ride an ilu on his own, so I showed him how to swim and hold his breath for long periods of time. We stayed close to the shore so I could ensure that he wouldn't get swept away. It would be easy to lose him since humans are so small.

After a while, I heard footsteps approaching. I looked over and saw Lo'ak, who looked frustrated. I let out a sigh and stepped out of the water.

"What are you two doing?" He snarled, immediately walking closer to me.

He seemed to be trying to intimidate me, but it didn't really work since he was a bit shorter than me.

"I was simply teaching Spider how to swim. Is that a crime, Lo'ak?" I rhetorically asked, continuing before he could answer, "Y'know, you've been acting so strange lately. Ever since I met Payakan, actually. What's wrong?"

"What's wrong? What's wrong?! You know what's wrong!"

"No, I don't, Lo'ak! If I did, then I wouldn't have asked!"

He hissed and grabbed my arm tightly.

"You rejected me! I tried to show you my love, and you didn't reciprocate!"

"That's because I see you only as a brother, Lo'ak! Nothing more, nothing less!"

"But I see you as more than a sister!"

"Well, I'm sorry, but I can't accept! Why not shoot your shot with Tsireya? I'm sure she-"

Without letting me finish, he grabbed my face forcefully and pulled me into a kiss. I tried to push him away, but for some reason, his grip was tight.

"Lo'ak, stop!" Spider shouted, making me remember that he was here, too.

I felt him trying to push Lo'ak away from me, but he was far smaller and weaker than us both, so his attempts did nothing. Lo'ak eventually pulled away on his own accord and looked at Spider angrily. He kicked him away harshly.

"I shouldn't have saved you! I should've just left you to die!" He shouted, reaching for his dagger.

"Hey!"

That commanding voice made us all freeze in our spots. We all looked to see father approaching, followed by mother.

"What's going on here?!" He demanded, looking at me, Spider, Lo'ak, and then at Lo'ak's dagger.

"He was trying to kill Spider!" I yelped, rushing over to him.

He seemed more concerned than mother, though I guess that was to be expected since she was fully willing to kill him the other day... Father marched over to Lo'ak, snatched his dagger from his hand, and dragged him by his arm back to the marui. Mother stayed back a bit to stare at Spider before looking over at me.

"Tell me everything," she said.

I tried to explain everything to her. How I was teaching Spider how to swim... How Lo'ak came over and kissed me... When I finished, her expression was unreadable. She simply nodded and walked after father. For some reason, I feel like she might not be on my side...

꒰ఎ So... I'm running out of ideas on what to write 😭 I think I'll just keep making Aonung, Lo'ak, and (maybe) Neteyam fight over [NAME] until they eventually get into some huge fight that results in one of them winning and making [NAME] their mate or smth
