With newfound strength, they started fighting once more. Hantengu was extremely focused, which seemed to catch Sanemi off guard. For once, he was being overpowered. As they fought, I caught a glimpse of something on Hantengu's face. It was brown, like the brown on his haori, and it almost resembled the pattern of a tree branch. It appeared out of nowhere on his cheek.
"The hell is that?! Looks like a demon crest!" Sanemi growled, "I'm fucking sick of this! Just give me-!"
He was cut off when Hantengu suddenly lodged his sword into his neck.
"Don't torment the meek!" He screeched.
With those words, his sword fully went through Sanemi's neck, slicing it off. The air was silent as his head rolled onto the ground. His eyes were wide with shock as his remains slowly faded away. He opened his mouth as if to say something, but he disintegrated before he could. Hantengu panted heavily, his grip still tight.
"... Another..." He uttered, "There's... another... I need... to find..."
With those words, he sprinted away. Nezuko was about to go after him before realizing that I was still there.
"Tanjiro!" She shouted, "Take [NAME] to safety! I'm going to go with Hantengu!"
Tanjiro, who had gotten himself out from under the rubble, nodded. Nezuko followed Hantengu's trail while Tanjiro came over to me. He picked me up and started running off.
...
What did Hantengu mean when he said there was "another"? Another Uppermoon? Ubuyashiki wouldn't send multiple Uppermoons just to find me, would he...? No... He's not that crazy...
"How pitiful... If you'd stop flitting around, I'd put you out of your misery..."
Tanjiro suddenly stopped, gripping me tighter. ... That deep voice... I recognize it... I looked ahead, seeing a towering figure with four arms. Something flew at it, but one of its large hands grabbed and squeezed it. It was Gyomei... and he was holding Rui, who looked just seconds away from death.

"[NAME]-chan...! I'm doing this for you!" Nezuko gasped as she struggled to keep up with Hantengu.
She didn't know where he was going or what he was on about, but she trusted his instincts as a Hashira. Out of nowhere, a figure flew by and hit a nearby tree. She looked in horror when she saw that it was Gyokko, who was bleeding from his head and coughing up blood violently.
"Gyokko!" Hantengu yelped, stopping in his tracks and making a quick turn to go to him.
"Fuck... He's strong..." Gyokko stammered as Hantengu helped him up.
"Who?! Who's strong?"
"I think that would be me."
Nezuko tensed, seeing a tall figure approach them.
"Be prepared to get taken out in the most flamboyant way possible, courtesy of Uppermoon Two!"

𖹭 Hantengu panicked when he saw Gyokko in such a state, thinking that he was going to lose him.
𖹭 Rui is literally seconds away from death.
𖹭 So... Sanemi will be taken off of this list 🥲 (I feel like this will be like my one Tokyo Revengers book where there was barely any yandere and I took like almost everybody off of the list 😭)
