I stared at him with wide eyes, taken aback. I reached a shaky hand up to his face in disbelief, unable to truly grasp the fact that he wasn't gone.
"Tanjiro..." I gasped.
"... [NAME]..." He said with a wide smile, tilting his head.
"Tanjiro...!" I pulled him into an embrace, crying louder than I was proud to admit. "You're alive! You're really alive! This is amazing!"
"So... amazing."
"[NAME]! Tanjiro!"
I lifted my head and, through my tears, I saw people approaching. Nezuko... and Hantengu, who was helping Gyokko run. Nezuko, upon seeing Tanjiro sitting in the sunlight, stopped abruptly. She looked between the two of us rapidly, her mouth agape. Slowly, she took a step forward, and then another, before she suddenly appeared beside us. She let out a cry and held the two of us close.
"You guys are alive! I was so worried!" She sobbed.
"U-Um... I don't mean to break the happy mood, but I think we all need some medical attention," Hantengu, who was seemingly back to his timid self, said.
Nezuko nodded and pulled away, her expression full of relief.

"Quiet."
... Upper Three was dead, leaving only Upper One and Two. He was upset initially when he found that they had fled. But... perhaps it was a good thing. Perhaps everything that happened since he met [NAME] was a good thing. Because now... now he had a demon who could conquer the sun.

He nodded, dismissing them. Once they were gone, he started cackling maniacally. He couldn't believe it. After all this time... He would finally have it. He would finally be able to walk in the sunlight. And maybe... just maybe... Tanjiro would be the key to making [NAME] immortal, too.
