Light footsteps broke the silence of the forest. They followed the movements of the woman who was going nowhere in particular. She eventually spotted a large boulder among some shrubbery and decided to rest on it for a while. She hoisted herself onto it, made herself comfortable, and leaned on her arms.

Her mouth opened almost instinctively, and a beautiful tune came from it. It was as melancholic as ever, and it made the surrounding birds come to life and sing along with her.

She sang for just a minute before the sound of a person approaching rapidly came. She kept singing, pouring her heart into it as she always did. Soon enough, a person appeared from between the trees. A tall man with hair that was rustled from his rushing. His eyes were wide and dazed. Slowly, he took a step closer, and then another.

The woman grinned and held out a hand, continuing to hum the tune. The man kept walking over to her, making her slip off of the rock and slowly lead him over to the nearby lake. She stepped in the water, and the man followed suit, too mesmerized by her music to worry about his soaked clothing.

Once the water was up to her chest, she grabbed him by his collar and pulled him down the water's surface. Only then did he snap out of his trance, but it was too late. A soft glow emitted from the woman, and her legs transformed into a dark, almost gloomy shade of [FAVORITE COLOR]. The man struggled, but it went to naught. The woman quickly sunk her teeth into his neck, hitting a lethal point. His struggles slowed until they eventually stopped, allowing her to eat.

However, for whatever reason, she didn't feel as... hungry. Usually, she always had an appetite, but something told her that she was being... watched. She left the body in the lake for safe-keeping before resurfacing. She made her way back to the earth's surface, where her tail turned back into legs. She glanced around, her eyes slightly narrowed as she tried to figure out what it was that made her so uneasy.

"Impressive."

She let in a sharp breath and quickly looked to the side. Standing there, leaning against a tree, was a man with black hair and crimson eyes. He was grinning, showing off his rather sharp canines. The woman pursed her lips and took a step back towards the water.

"Don't worry. I'm not going to harm you," the man said, slowly walking towards her, "I'm merely... curious. I've noticed some human disappearances around here, and I didn't sense any of my demons, so I decided to investigate it myself. And here I see... you. A..."

His words trailed off. His eyes narrowed ever so slightly as he looked her up and down, seemingly trying to gauge what she was. She didn't give him the answer. Instead, she turned on her heel and started running back into the lake, but something suddenly grabbed her elbow and pulled her back, this time right in front of him. She yelled and looked at what held her in horror. It was some sort of black tentacle, and it came from his body...

"Now, now... It would be rude to leave in the middle of our conversation, wouldn't it?" He rhetorically asked, tracing one of his long nails along her cheek, "Tell me... What is your name, and what are you?"

She swallowed as she studied his features. He seems like the sort of person who one wouldn't want to upset...

"... I am [NAME]... and I am a siren..."

At her words, his eyes widened.

"A siren..." He gasped, almost disbelieving, "But... Did you all not die out centuries ago?"

"Yes, well... I'm the... um... last one...?"

He stared at her with an intense gaze in eerie silence. Then, he chuckled and took a small step back.

"[NAME] the siren..." he murmured to himself. He met her eyes again, and he took her hand in his. "I am Kibutsuji Muzan, the progenitor of demons. Come with me. I would love to... chat with you."

He didn't give her a choice in the matter and pulled her alongside him. She looked back at the lake and then forward, wondering what she got herself into.
