Y/n pov
I am Jedi Master Anakin's Padawan and we have a secret were in love! But no one know... except maybe Obi-wan... because it is a big no no in the Jedi Order. Me and Barris are going a supply mission for medical supplies while our masters are going to bring in Poggle for his crimes.
All of the clones that we are taking for the mission are on bored and we take off.
Barris tells Master Fisto that we are ready to jump into hyperspace and he tells us that he looks forward to our arrival, with that we jump into hyperspace. Barris and I go to our rooms for now to get some rest but I can't sleep... it's to quiet in here compared to the past few days.
"What...what is it" Barris asks.
I groan and say "It's to quiet... it's a big change from all the fighting the past few days".
"You should enjoy this peace while it lasts" Barris tells me, they are wise words but I can't fall asleep.
"I can't" I say more quickly than I would have liked then add "lets go eat".
So me and Barris go to the cafeteria to get something to eat because we haven't gotten much to eat from because of all of the fighting in the past few days.
"I was thinking about what you said earlier about enjoying the peace while it lasts... as a Jedi I'm not sure I know how to do that" I tell Barris.
Barris then says "Master Windu says we are keepers of the peace not warriors...however once the war is over it will be our job to maintain the peace".
"Yes but what we do as keepers of the peace are warriors and what's the difference" I ask her. She then says that she doesn't have all the answers she is a learner and asks what Master Skywalker tells me.
"Anakin... oh well you might think his thoughts on the future are a little... a bit radical" I say pausing to find the right wording.
"Really why" Barris asks.
"Lets just say my master will always do what needs to be done... I am not even sure how peace time will agree with him" I say to her. 'It is true it will be hard and strange during peace time but he has me to help him through it' I think.
I since that something is up, but in walks Ocs and Edge and I ask if they would like to join you two. I notice the looks in there eyes and ask if something was wrong and they start shooting at us! Barris and I pull out our lightsabers and block the blasts. I flip a table over and say "troopers Stand Down", but they don't so we knock them out by using the force to throw them across the room onto a wall.
The doors open and we point our lightsabers at the troopers that enter, they ask what we are doing with there hands up in the air.
"Two clones just attacked us, what is going on" I shout defensively. Barris asks Trap if he knows what happened to those troopers, to which he says that he has no idea and he is just as confused as we are.
"Your in charge of those men did you order them to kill us" Barris asks.
"No sir I did not" He answers.
"What's happening... why would they do this" I ask shouting.
"We don't know we heard shots" The other clone says.
"Why should we believe you" Barris asks. The clones say "look no guns" and then set down their blasters and we deactivate our lightsabers.
"These clones wouldn't attack us without reason" Barris says.
"My master had a clone betray them once a traitor who was paid off by Ventris" I tell her. She says it can't be that simple there has to be more to it. The clones then say that we better make sure we are still in control of the bridge... we contact them and... no answer... not a good sign. Barris, a clone and I go to check on the bridge the other clone stays to watch the two clones that we knocked out.
Anakin's pov
Me and Obi-Wan go into where Luminara is and she says that Y/n and Barris failed to check in.
'That's not like my Y/n' I think. "I don't like it somethings up" I say.
" It is certainly unlike either Padawan to lose contact" Luminara says.
"There in trouble" I quickly say.
"Have faith in your Padawan" Obi-wan says.
"She would have checked in" I tell him.
"Like you always do" Obi-wan says.
"Good point" I tell him.
"Honestly I don't think you realize how alike you to have become" Obi-wan says.
'Is that a good thing or a bad thing' I think.
Poggle isn't being cooperative and we leave to go interrogate him some more.
"Keep an ears open in case Y/N calls" I tell Rex.
"Got it" he tells me.
Y/N pov
We go toward the bridge and the security shields go up.
"Someone doesn't want us going up there" I say.
"I'll attempt to override the controls" Barris says and gets to work, but the clone that we took attacted us. "He's infected" Barris says, as he gets close to her a worm like thing comes out of his mouth and it creeped me out.
"Get this thing off me" I hear Barris say, the worm is on her face I grab it using the force and cut it in half using my lightsaber.
"Ugh what is that" I say in disgust.
"Looks like some kind of parasite... it must be controlling their actions" Barris says.
"Mind control" I slowly say then add "well that explains a lot Trap was my friend he would have never tried to kill us... how did these things get on board in the first place".
"They must have infected the clones while they were on Genosis" Barris says.
"We will have to quarantine the ship" I say.
"We should also contact Master Fisto and let him know about the situation" Barris says.
"Lets go" I tell her, we get up and run off.
We hear a sound that... it was Genocian! We see a clone get infected... the worm goes into the clones nose... Gross! An infected clone attacts us and one of the other clones come near us with two eggs, we grab the eggs with the force and slice them in half and begin to defend ourselves. We then go into the vents.
"I'll go into the reactor room and disable the thrusters, you go to the com center and contact Master Fisto we half to stop the ship from reaching the medical station" Barris says.
"I don't know Barris I think we should stay together" I tell her.
"As do I unfortunately that is not a luxtury we have right now, one of us must succeed Y/N if you need to you will do what must be done" she tells me, with that we part.
I get to the com center and contact Master Fisto and tell him that as long as these things are on bored we dare not to dock at the medical center.
"You must bring the ship in the only way we can stop these parasites is to analyze them" Master Fisto says.
"You don't understand how terrible these things are what if they get lose" I say.
"We will take precautions" Master Fisto says.
"I have a bad feeling about this Master Fisto but I will follow your instructions" I tell him and end the communication.
Then Rex calls and I answer it, "Rex this is Y/N boy am I glad to hear your voice" I tell him.
"Likewise sir, I've got someone who would like to speak to you sir" Rex tells me and Anakin comes onto the screen.
"Y/n what is going on are you ok" Anakin asks me.
"Well not exactly..." I tell him and explain what is going on.
"Make sure you have a wrist com keep it on I'm going to interigate Poggle and see if he has some answers find Barris and wait for my signal" he says as I put the wrist com and turn on the wrist com. The communication ends
I look at the door to see Barris "Barris your back were you successful...what's wrong" I say then I realize that she is infected. She raises her palm and shatters the glass using the force.
I shield my self and say "I'm your friend Barris snap out of it".
She ignites her lightsaber and I ignite mine blocking her strike at me and we battle. "Barris it's not you it's the creatures fight them" I say then kick her down.
I get out with Barris on my tail, I fall down and block her blow then kick her down and get in the nearest vent.
"This is Y/n come in" I say to the wrist com.
"Y/n listen to me the worms are affected by the cold" Anakin tells me.
"Cold" I say.
"Rupture the cooling system" as Anakin says this a clone walks under the vent and I had to cover the com so the clone wouldn't hear.
"Did you hear me rupture the cooling system" Anakin repeats.
"The cooling system got it" I say and open the vent and get out.
I walk into the controle room and rupture the cooling system... the tempature is below freezing.
'I can see my own breath and see the air coming out of the tubes' I think to myself and I go back into the vents.
I come out I am so cold my I am shaking and I can see parts of my skin turn blue.
"The bridge at last" I say and run in.
I try to send a message to the medical center but it's no use Barris slashes the controls. I jump out of the seat and Barris falls into the cold... actually its cold everywhere not the time! Barris takes out her lightsaber and tries to fight but its no use she drops it because of the cold and screams as she falls to the floor.
"kill me please" she says.
"I can't" I say. I look out the window and look back at Barris, she comes at me and wraps her hands around my through as she tries to infect me I kick her and she goes under cold air. The worm comes out of her mouth as she screams and holds her head, I take my lightsaber and cut the worm in half. She collapses and I take her body and hold her, at this point I can barely see.
A little bit later Master Fisto walks in... I am barly conscious... he takes my chin and lifts my head up a bit. I barrly open my eyes and say with my voice shaking because of the cold "hello Master Fisto we are ready to pick up the supplies" as a say that my eyes role into the back of my head but I barly could make out him saying "we'll take care of that you rest now" before I go fully unconscious.
My eyes open and I shoot up gasping before I see Anakin before me. He walks up to me and grabs my shoulders saying "it's all right Y/n... It's ok... your safe" he tells me as I look deep into his icy eyes finding comfort in him, his words, and his eyes.
"Barris" I ask.
"Barris is fine thanks to your efforts so are the clones" he tells me and nods next to me she's right beside me.
"what were those things" I ask him.
"I think I can help answer that" Master Fisto says and smiles a warm smile. "we had the parasite worms analyzed.. they are the same worms that you found on Genosis Master Skywalker".
"we will have to inform the troops on Genosis... this parasite might explain how they recaptured the planet the first time I don't want it happening again" Anakin says getting up from the end of the bed.
"You've been through quite an ordeal little one" Master Fisto says to me.
"Master Skywalker... may I have a word" I ask him.
He nods and sits back down on the bed.
"Master on the ship Barris was... gone...and she wanted me to kill her" I start to say but he finishes saying "but you couldn't do it".
"No I couldn't but should I have... I mean it worked out now but if the ship had docked and the worms had spread and-" I say.
"Y/n it's your duty to save as many lives as you can Barris knew that you could save many if the worms were destroyed which she thought meant destroying her to... but you knew the worms were affected by the cold I'm sure Barris would agree that you made the right choice" he tells me and starts to walk out.
"Anakin... would you stay with me for a while please... if you can't that's ok" I ask him.
He nods and smiles then walks towards me as I make room for him on the bed and he lays down with me wrapping his arms around my waist, pulling me close. I close my eyes and put my head and hand on his chest. Right now I didn't care about the war or that someone could catch us, all that mattered was that I was right here in the love of my life's arms.
