Chapter 10 The Sky That Remember
The cracks had paused.
Not because they were healed,
but because something had remembered.
The sky, long forgotten and left in endless ash-grey stillness, began to shimmer—
not in light,
but in memory.
Erah stood at the edge of what was left of reality.
Behind him: fading fragments of worlds he no longer fully recognized.
Ahead: a blankness, untouched and waiting.
The fifth glyph pulsed faintly on his hand.
It was not a key.
Not a weapon.
Not a cure.
It was a statement.
A mark that said:
"I was here."
"I refused to vanish."
"And I will remember, even when the world forgets itself."
But the glyph came with a price.
Erah’s memories—once bright—had begun to dissolve into symbols.
His thoughts were no longer his own,
but fragments of patterns, glyphs, and broken laws stitched together by stubborn will.
He was becoming a language.
A walking memory.
A living resistance.
And then—the sky opened.
Not with thunder.
Not with fire.
But with a whisper,
as if the sky itself sighed in relief—because finally,
someone had not just survived the fracture,
but understood it.
A figure stepped forward.
Clothed in shifting fragments of forgotten realms.
Eyes made of inverted constellations.
A presence that bent neither space nor time—but caused gravity to hesitate.
“You are the fifth.”
“But not the last.”
“There are others—waiting to forget. Or waiting to resist.”
Erah asked, not with words, but with glyphs.
“Who are you?”
The figure only smiled,
and answered by drawing a circle in the air—
a sixth glyph.
Unknown. Undeciphered.
And yet…
familiar.
It was not made to destroy.
Nor resist.
Nor remember.
It was made to begin.
And the moment it appeared—
everything collapsed into silence.

Erah
