21 Kuldevi
Part 21 Kuldevi
Khushi felt the erotic sensation in her stomach. There was a prickle at the moment. She was waiting for someone for a long and that person was in front of her but he was not hers. She didn't know whether she should feel happy or sad... she didn't know whether she should die or live...
How would she face Arnav? She didn't expect him in the wedding program. They were going to get participated in the wedding together. That was going to be awkward for both of them. What would she do now? What will be Arnav's reaction, to seeing her? What if Arnav tried to talk to her? what if his wife got to know their old story? What if it created a rift between them? He has a family and his life. Because of her, Arnav should not face any problems. What if she left the place with Sagar?
Khushi walked to the room allotted to her and Sagar. She saw Sagar sleeping peacefully. She could not leave the wedding in the middle. Sagar would get disappointed if she asked him to do so. That was the first time Sagar getting participated in a wedding function. He was so excited as the wedding function was taking place in his Friend's family.
It seemed Madhav also liked Sagar very much. Didn't he say he never had a friend and Sagar was the first one? How could she disappoint these boys? She was restless. She didn't know what to do. From tomorrow morning, the rituals would start. She had to try to divert her mind. She could not get weaker... She should not focus on Arnav at any cause. Khushi decided and laid down but she didn't sleep for long. At last, she slept at the midnight.
Could she succeed in not focusing on Arnav? It was not possible and Khushi too knew it.
The next day morning
Sagar woke up before Khushi and didn't disturb her. After taking bath only Sagar woke up Khushi.
"Mom, wake up... it's 7:30" he shook her shoulder slightly.
Khushi sat on the bed jerking.
"Whaaat? Is it 7:30?" she asked shockingly.
"Yeah..."
"Why didn't you wake me up?" she asked, folding the quilt hurriedly.
"Mom, I can't believe you sleep so long. What happened to you? Are you enjoying your vacation to the fullest?" he teased.
"I didn't sleep till midnight"
"Why Mom? Any problem? Are not you comfortable here?" he asked worriedly.
"Nothing is like that. This is a new place. That's why I didn't sleep for long but I will get used to it"
"Are you sure?"
"Yup"
"Ok, get ready and come... Madhav said some Pooja is going to happen"
"Kul Devi Pooja"
"Yeah... how do you know?" Sagar asked.
"Madhav's mother told me"
"Oh... that's great. Come. Shall I go?"
"You go... I will come"
"come fast, Mom" Sagar went out searching for his friend Madhav.
Khushi got down from the bed and took her saree out of her bag all the way thinking about Arnav. He was here... very close to her... just at a hand distance but she could not talk to him. what a bloody situation was that? Khushi sighed. she went to the washroom and got fresh.
People gathered in the open courtyard of the house premises. The needed Pooja setup had been arranged there.
Sagar was standing with Madhav watching everything keenly as that was the first-ever wedding he attended.
That was when Arnav came there with Sanjai. Sanjai was silent as he was eating his favorite snack. Arnav saw Madhav standing with a boy. both were facing their backs to him. He remembered Madhav's words. Didn't he say, he got a new friend who was the reason for the change that happened in him? He must be the boy. Arnav silently went near them and stood behind them listening to their talks because he knew young guys always talk interestingly. But he wondered when Sagar asked Madhav about something.
"What's Kuldevi and why do we perform Kuldevi Pooja?" Sagar asked.
A silent chuckle broke into Arnav's throat as Madhav scratched his head. It seemed, he too didn't know about it.
"Don't you know about it?" Sagar asked.
"So what? Do you want to know about it...? Wait I will get you full information from the OLD Google"
"Old Google?"
"My Nani..." he said chuckling which made Sagar smile.
Madhav saw his Nani arranging for Pooja.
"Naniji, everyone is gathered here. We are next-generation people. let us know about Kuldevi Pooja in detail" Madhav asked.
All of them looked at him wondering.
"Madhav, from when did you start thinking useful?" Someone countered.
"I'm sorry, the credit goes to my friend," Madhav said pointing at Sagar.
"That's it... I was scared thinking that you became intelligent" Another one pulled his leg.
"No way... you don't have to be scared..." Madhav said casually.
"Ok, stop mocking him. At least, he asked something..." Naniji chided.
"You tell us Naniji"
Nani started narrating about Kuldevi Pooja.
"The Kuldevi is essential to our life. The Pooja of Kuldevi helps in avoiding all forms of awkward incidents in life. They also bless their descendants. We believe that Kuldevi created a Raksha Chakra (protective Ring) around our family. Kuldevi helps the family in keeping out all forms of negative energy. The Raksha Chakra doesn't allow any negative energy to attack our family. It keeps our family unity, protects us from spirits, and keeps us with peace, prosperity, and health. Without her, we can't be peaceful. She is our EVERYTHING... So, before starting anything, we are worshiping our Kuldevi in the process of thanksgiving." Nani completed the narration.
"Wow... fantastic..." Madhav clapped his hands.
"Sagar... is that clear?" Madhav asked him.
Sagar nodded yes. The Pooja started. Madhav nagged Sagar.
"What?" Sagar asked without taking his eyes from the Pooja arrangements.
"I wanted to ask you something," Madhav said lowering his tone.
Arnav sharpened his ears as he guessed something interesting was coming.
"What?" Sagar asked.
"Why didn't you accept Neya's proposal?"
Sagar looked at him shockingly.
"Is this a place to raise such a question?"
"You will escape without answering me if I ask the question somewhere else" Madhav grinned.
Sagar rolled his eyes.
"Tell me, buddy... Neya is the most wanted girl in our college. Guys are dying for her one look but you said no to her. I'm your best friend, right? Then no secrets should be kept between us" Madhav emotionally blackmailed him.
Sagar smiled.
"Tell me..."
"Love means, what?" Sagar asked.
"What?"
"Trust... The girl should be trusted like anything. She should also trust us over anyone in the world. Love means, dignity... pride... we should worship the girl for her character. And more than anything, love should be mutual..."
Arnav gulped down hard. He could not hold from remembering Khushi. She trusted him over anyone in the world. Her love was as pure as fire. She was his everything... Arnav's eyes tear up.
Sagar continued,
"When we see her, we should feel something in our heart as if our KULDEVI herself has appeared in front of us"
"Waah... what an explanation buddy...!" Madhav literally appreciated it.
Arnav was highly impressed with the boy. he was stunned by the explanation. No matter he became essential to Madhav. His parents should have raised him with values. Otherwise, such a great thought would not have been raised in his mind. He too wanted to cherish him and his thoughts. Arnav became curious to see the boy's face who was facing his back to Arnav. He extended his hand to tap Sagar's shoulder. His hand stopped in the middle and Arnav was stunned, seeing his KULDEVI in front of him. He forgot to blink as his eyes got rooted on Khushi who was entering the Pooja venue.
To be continued...
