TRUE MYTH

21 Horary

Part 21 Horary

The recent passing of the Kali Temple pandit had stirred up quite a buzz in the village. Conversations were buzzing about him, particularly the unsettling practices he might have been involved in.

The Murthy brothers were understandably anxious. This unexpected turn of events had left them on edge.

"Krishna, if the pandit faced such a grim fate, what does that mean for us? Could we share in that destiny?" Chandra asked his voice a mix of fear and concern.

"Don't let your mind wander in that direction," Krishna reassured him. The pandit's fate stemmed from his devotion to Kali and his misguided dive into black magic. We're not responsible for his choices. Remember, he could refuse, but greed got the better, making him agree to our plans." Krishna spoke with a calmness that belied the gravity of their situation.

"I'm truly worried. Mama has already learned about me trying to apply the paste on his head. He's bound to connect it to the pandit's death. What will happen if he starts questioning us? If he discovers our involvement, he could turn against us," Chandra said, his anxious thoughts spiralling.

"Listen, you must keep this quiet. We can't afford to let anyone overhear us. You know how the village is—everyone is listening. We only have a chance until Mama gathers enough evidence against us. Speaking freely like this will only make it easier for him to find a reason to suspect us," Krishna admonished, emphasising the need for caution.

"Have you noticed how things have shifted since Arnav arrived?" Chandra remarked, irritation creeping into his tone.

"Mama's attitude has changed completely; he never questioned us before."

"That's true. It feels like ever since we approached the pandit, our troubles have only deepened," Krishna acknowledged.

"We need to find a way to deal with Arnav," Chandra proposed.

"Do you think that will be straightforward?"

"While it might not be easy, I'm confident we can handle it if we put our minds and efforts to it. We need to act; otherwise, he will become a real challenge for us," Chandra insisted.

With a contemplative look, Krishna realised Chandra was onto something. Arnav had rapidly climbed the ranks within the palace, and if they didn't find a way to halt his momentum, they could face serious consequences. However, with determination and effort, they could navigate this challenge together.

The next day

Guruji conducted the pooja with purpose. He noted Arnav and Khushi's names and when Arnav inquired about the wedding. He placed the paper in the pooja as he performed the rituals. After the pooja, he meditated, a satisfied smile gracing his face as he concluded the ceremony with heartfelt intent.

Upon returning to his hut to call Arnav, he noticed two missed calls from the jailer, Shankar. He promptly dialled his number.

"Hello, Shankarji. I was immersed in my pooja, so I missed your calls."

"Have you finished the pooja?"

"Just wrapped it up."

"Did you check the horary for Arnav and the girl?"

"Absolutely. I conducted the pooja earlier than usual specifically to examine their horary." He smiled confidently.

"What did you find, Guruji?"

"They are perfectly matched. This is why Arnav found his way to the village—she was destined for him. She will reach him, no matter the circumstances."

"You've made my day, Guruji. I was so anxious when I learned about Arnav's interest in her. I want to see him happy..."

"He will be. His future is bright ahead of him."

"I'm truly relieved to hear that, Guruji."

"Me too. Your worries are misplaced."

"I'll meet you soon when I can, Guruji."

"Of course, I look forward to it."

They ended the call, both feeling a sense of reassurance.

.......

Arnav felt a surge of excitement as he contemplated the horary. However, he was unwavering in his decision to marry Khushi; there was no doubt in his mind. His curiosity was piqued, and he eagerly anticipated calling Guruji, knowing he was due for his regular pooja. Arnav wondered if Guruji's insights would align with those of the mysterious man he had encountered. Hadn't that man proclaimed that Khushi would ascend to become the queen of the palace?

Pacing restlessly in his room, Arnav was jolted by the sound of his phone ringing. A grin spread across his face when he saw Guruji's number flashing on the screen. He answered the call promptly.

"Hello, Guruji..."

"Are you curious?"

"Tense, Guruji," Arnav replied with a smile.

"No need for that. You two are destined to have a long life together. She came to the village for you, and you found your way to her. She is your perfect match. Your marriage will happen, no matter what obstacles arise."

Arnav felt elated, overjoyed at this news. For the first time in his life, he was on the brink of achieving something he truly desired.

Yet, he couldn't shake off the mysterious man's words. What could they possibly mean? Was the man's proclamation false? Did Guruji perhaps have a different vision? No way, he had seen Guruji's horary many times and no one went wrong. So, Guruji would certainly right. Yet he asked,

"Are you certain, Guruji?"

"Why doubt my horary astrology?"

"I believe in it, Guruji. I spoke to a man in this village. He mentioned that Khushi would become the queen of the palace..."

Guruji smiled knowingly.

"He also stated that this destiny couldn't be altered."

"Oh..."

"I suspect the king of this palace wishes to marry her."

Guruji was taken aback.

"You're referring to Arvind?"

"Yes, Guruji. Khushi can only become a queen through her marriage to the king, right?"

"Correct."

"That's why I want to halt this wedding..."

"Oh, so you wish to marry her yourself?"

"Initially, I considered marrying her for that reason, but as I contemplated our wedding, I realized I had genuinely fallen for her. I love her deeply, Guruji. She's a wonderful person, full of understanding. After learning about my past, she trusts me completely. Having her by my side feels incredible."

"Do not worry. She will stand by you. Everything will turn out just fine. I will be there to celebrate your wedding."

Arnav was filled with confidence as Guruji's words reassured him about his future with Khushi.

"Thank yoy so much, Guruji."

"Good bless you."

After disconnecting the call, Arnav strode purposefully into Khushi's room. She was ready to head to the temple and was about to step out when she caught sight of him rushing in.

"What's going on, Arnav sir? Why are you in such a hurry?"

"Stop calling me SIR."

Khushi raised an eyebrow, intrigued.

"Is that what you came to tell me?"

"I came to share something important. Just don't call me sir anymore."

"And why is that?" she asked, curiosity piqued.

"Because you should not call your HUSBAND as sir."

Khushi's eyes widened in surprise. Arnav smiled at her reaction.

"Didn't I talk to my Guruji last evening?"

She nodded eagerly.

"He consulted horary astrology today..."

"What did he reveal?" Khushi leaned in, listening intently.

"He said you are destined to be the queen of my HEART. We'll be together forever."

"Really?" Khushi asked, her excitement growing.

"Do you think I'm joking?" he challenged gently.

Khushi shook her head.

"Then what's with the hesitation?"

"I can't help but think about the mystic..."

"Don't overthink it. We're getting married soon. That's a certainty."

"Will you tell uncle Arvind about it?" she asked, her voice filled with hope.

"I'll definitely let him know."

Khushi smiled at him.

"Thank god, you're so confident. I was wondering how you'd handle such a significant moment."

A blush crept onto Khushi's cheeks as she smiled widely.

"I'll be truly happy once our wedding happens," she said, her voice a mix of shyness and certainty.

"It will happen, and we will be happy together," Arnav assured her.

With a playful bite of her lip, Khushi dashed out of the room, her cheeks flushed with excitement.

To be continued...
